This is the 3rd time I've submitted a review for this shoe and every time my review never posts. This shoe literally left open wounds on my son's feet. The hard rubber on the side rubbed into his skin. There's no breaking them in. Even after letting his feet heal and trying them again, I saw his skin starting to rub away again and had to take them off.

I love PLAE shoes, but these do not live up to the brand's normal comfort and quality. The tongue of the shoe is made of hard plastic that quickly ate into the top of my two-year-old's foot. We also tried them with socks, but the hard plastic still dug into his skin. He cried even when I brought the shoes out of the closet to put on his feet because they hurt him so much. I'm not sure what PLAE was thinking here, but it's a miss. They went back to Zappos.

My son is between sizes a so I went with the larger size originally figuring his foot would grow and it might be a little loose but not much. He was flopping in them. So I would suggest that if you're between sizes, go for the smaller size.

I love these shoes! I bought them for my 3 year old son and he wears them everywhere; beach, pool, playing outside and riding bikes. They’re extremely light but sturdy and they dry very quickly.

The tongue pops out from inside the shoe when a 3 year old is working to independently get his foot inside and close the loop. The shoe gets lots of compliments and fits well - just anticipate having to help pop the tongue back inside which may frustrate the “I do it!” Toddler ;)

The cutest shoes! I purchased these looking for an alternative to Natives for my son since the openings for the jefferson and lennox weren't large enough for my son's chubby toddler feet. These PLAEs have the exact same look I prefer but with the added benefit of my son being able to put them on himself.

We love Plae shoes. My son has gone through several styles. The fit and style have all been top notch. We got these as an alternative to Natives for water play and splash parks. They're definitely a cute shoe - especially in grey (as we planned to use them for our daughter too). Unfortunately with these, the plastic tongue seemed to dig into the front of his ankle and left a pretty significant indent. He complained they were uncomfortable. Additionally, if we turned over the shoes, there seemed to be molding issue with the plastic as the shoe tongue doesn't meet up with the rest of the shoe the same on each shoe. All of that said, they certainly could work for another kid and I imagine the plastic molding issue is likely not present in all pairs. We still love Plae and will probably order other non-water/sandal styles. Also- as usual, Zappos customer service was AWESOME in helping me with the issue.

Very cute shoe, but runs big and wide. Not sure about extended wear since I returned them. Three stars because even if I sized down, the width would still not work. With water shoes, I feel it should be a good fit since the water will naturally work them off anyway, think: playing in mud, riding down a lazy river, sandy beach, Splash Pad, etc.

We love PLAE shoes and it is our go to brand for our little one. However, this one did not work out for us. The material cuts into the skin and causes blisters, and my little one said it hurts his feet.

My kids feet are covered in blisters on the top from the tongue and material. Wish I could return them. Not good.

Wonderful summer shoes! Much easier for my kid to get on than the Natives. Love them.

The only complaint I have on this specific pair of shoes by Plae is that the picture clearly shows 2 tabs and the pair I received only had one tab. My guess is an update but then Zappos needs two items listed.

We love Plae shoes! I see a lot of people commenting about the 1 strap. According to plae website sizes 8, 9,and 10 are all single strap. They aren’t last years version. It’s size dependent. We have been very happy with this shoe and will continue to buy Plae in the future!

Great summer show. Completely waterproof and adjustable straps. Very lightweight. Great alternative to native for child with who have narrower heel.

These are the only shoes my son will wear and they are great- easy to put on, good for summer and in the rain, and he loves them. Win-win-win!

Super comfortable perfect for summer

I could not adequately express how much I LOVE these shoes! My kids are the worst with shoes. They sometimes drag their feet with wiggle bikes, or stopping on their regular bikes, and after two weeks of wear, their shoes typically look terrible (we are talking Keens, Nike, Under Armour, TEVA,etc) but it's been two weeks and while they don't look brand new, there are no scuffs or road marks to be found. I'm not sure what magic is at play hear, but PLAE, you have a customer for life!

Great shoe

We love our Plaes! This is the perfect summer shoe - while not a true water shoe, it’s good for romping around and crossing streams.

Got these for my daughter to wear while tide pooling and water activities at school! They worked out awesome for both!!

My kids love these shoes and so do I. They are comfortable, cute, and easy to clean. Great for summer. They don’t get stinky like tennis shoes! I love that they provide air and protect their toes. These are my second set of Plae shoes. I’m discovering that they Plae shoes are required every summer.

These shoes are great for my almost 3 year old. Easy for him to put on and take off. They are holding up well so far with playing in sprinklers! I bought a size up, but they still fit pretty well, and he can wear them through the summer. He says they feel good!

My son loves these shoes. Easy for a three year old to get on and off himself. He has worn them for a couple of weeks now. He says they are comfortable. They are easy to rinse off and wipe down. They are also very cute and stylish.

Ordered a size 10 for my toddler who wears 10 in all other shoes, but had to size up for these. His size 11s are slightly big, but I am positive in a month they'll be perfect. (We all know toddlers grow so fast!) They're easy for him to put on himself (he just turned 4) and he can easily run, play, get wet, kick a ball, jump in these without them falling off or him hurting his toes. Perfect amount of airflow for keeping feet cool in the hot weather. I highly recommend these shoes. He's only had them a couple weeks and we've already been asked a handful of times where we got them. Super pleased with this purchase and Zappos' customer service when we exchanged for the larger size.

Great shoes for busy day. Lightweight.
