Not the most attractive show I've ever bought, but extraordinarily comfortable.

They fit well right out of the box. Very comfortable, look great with business casual, jeans, slacks, can even wear with a suit. Made in Europe quality (mine were made in Portugal). I've owned these for almost 3 years, and wear them several times a week. Still comfortable and look great. Can be re-soled if needed. If you polish them, be careful not to cover the label tag.

The problem I have with Mephistos is that while I can work around their being half a size larger than I normally wear by ordering the next size down, I can't correct for the length. Even when the length is correct, my feet slip out a bit because there is too much space above the back of the shoe. My heel fits but my ankle slides out. I hate to use insert pads on $300+ shoes. This is my third attempt: Emerik, Douk, Vito, all constructed the same way. However, with an insert these are acceptable though heavy.

maybe a little big, still a very good shoe. the tongue digs into my ankle just a little bit. if I was at a sit down desk job and needed black leather shoes I might keep them.

So happy, plus got them on sale which is almost unheard of for Mephisto. Thank you Zappos!

Excellent fit and feel. Good on long walks; the usual Mephisto experience.

My husband loves this shoe. Great for work. Inside feels as if there are no seams! He said very comfy so if he's happy, I am happy.

Great shoes -- comfortable, lots of support, good fit and quality. They replace a pair of Mephistos that I wore for a decade or more, and had rebuilt a couple of times, but had to part with about four years ago -- so they are a great purchase as far as I can tell --

Fit and size is acceptable except for the lack of padding around the ankle area. Tends to promote abrasion from rubbing against the side of the shoe. For a supposed premium walking shoe (the price is significantly higher than similar walking shoes), the lack of ankle comfort is a negative.

You sent the wrong size!!!!! One size smaller than what I ordered. Boo!
