This duffel is the best. I own two in different sizes, and however tempted I am to buy them all, I really shouldn't because it's clear they're going to last forever. I love the backpack straps that can be tucked away and the sleek exterior. A year or two in and they still look brand new.

Got this bag to supplement some issued gear during a deployment in the Middle East; while it isn't hard to outperform military gear, this bag was on par, if not better, than the Patagonia Blackhole bags. It did get a small tear (less than 1/4") on the bottom during a helicopter movement, but it was easy to fix with a fabric patch. I imagine on a typical civilian airliner this bag wouldn't be exposed to as many floor screws and bolts to catch on, so I give it the benefit of the doubt. Two of my favorite features are the super large and comfortable carrying handles on four points of the bag, and the stowed backpack straps so the padded straps don't get caught in conveyor belts.

We used this bag twice on transpacific travel and loved it so much that we decided to get another. Incredibly durable, you can fill it to the seams and rest assured that your goods will make it to the final destination in one piece. The handles are rugged and great for throwing from one vehicle to the next or for bag handlers at air ports, but I also love that I can pull out the backpack straps and throw it on my back. Excellent overall bag for longer trips.

Incredibly impressed with this beast of a bag! Extremely well made and thought out. Holds enough to go on month long expeditions and get you back with souvenirs. Lightweight and tough as nails. Easy to transport with shoulder straps or just drag it though the airport or on the ground.

Bought this, Sea to Summit, and Patagonia to compare... this was the best, returned the other two. Only thing missing is a shoulder sling strap, but the backpack suspension is the best I have seen on a non-backpack. This thing should last forever, great weight to strength ratio too.

I've been using one of these updated Transporter 130s for about 8 months now as part of product testing and general curiosity. So far it has tagged along to Peru and Ecuador for 3 weeks of high altitude mountaineering, on many a roadtrip stuffed with camping and climbing gear, and most recently to the Bugaboos in Canada for more climbing. This thing has transported ice axes and crampons on 3 international flights and not had an issue with durability, pretty stellar! There isn't much to it for organization, so it becomes a bit of a puzzle to pack if you have some irregularly shaped items - I haven't run into too many unsolvable pieces yet. The pack away shoulder straps have been huge, I can have it loaded with 70+ pounds of gear and still get across a few airport terminals without crumbling into the carpet. That also has allowed me to carry a smaller daypack on the front when I need to be moving. In Ecuador I left my packed Transporter outside in a light rainstorm that lasted 3 hours, all the contents were dry and the coated exterior beaded water like it was supposed to, nice. My gripe with these duffels is the zipper, as it can be tough to get going when the inside is full. It's a small gripe, as the zipper is definitely burly to help with durability, and the flap that covers the zipper path is there to keep things dry and clean.
