It is absolutely the best bag I own. I love the color that is so unique and give me super adventages at the airport because I can spot it so easily. The daypack is so so great, I love it. I have almost zero cons for that bag, realy i recommend it.

I like to take off the day pack after I get to a hotel, stuff essential things in there, and take off for a journey into the town or city that I'm visiting. The bigger pack is very nice for putting in clothes/things I don't normally use on a plane, and the small pack is really useful for a carry-on on a plane, so I put all the useful stuff in there. The bigger pack can get your back sore a little bit the next day if you aren't used to travelling, so I recommend always using the lower back support straps and belt, because you'll regret it if you don't the next day. Its a very sturdy backpack though, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone. The 55 can fit a lot and fit perfectly on a plane, anything bigger probably needs to be checked. This is my first osprey product, but I'll definitely be buying more in the future if I ever need another pack, or bigger/smaller size.

Great design. I especially love the detachable daypack as well as the cover over the straps to make the backpack more streamlined when going through the airport. On the plane my backpack serves as a carry-on and the daypack as my personal item. It's also durable. In the last 4 years I've used this backpack for both backpacking hikes and travels abroad, and it has held up well -- it still looks new! Perfect fit. I'm petite at 5'3" and it fits my waist and shoulders securely. I also adore the rainforest green color!

I bought this bag back in 2017, meaning I've been using it for the past 5 years. Granted, during quarantine I was not using it at all, but I've brought this bag on 4 week long backpacking trips around the UK, a 2 week trip to Japan and just week trips to Mexico, everywhere. I love the detachable day pack, such a great detail about this bag tbh. I've never checked in bag since buying this one. The main bag fits perfectly in the overhead bins and I've never been stopped by any of the workers for it being too big. The day pack acts as my personal item and I board easily. I was only stopped once when coming back from Mexico for not being allowed to have 2 bags so I simply put the stuff in the day pack into the main bag and attached it. The workers were definitely not happy lol because they wanted that money, but the looks on their faces was hilarious because they were not expecting that. All this to say, this bag is a great investment if you travel a lot and don't check in bags. Originally, I was between this and the duffel because I wasn't sure if this was allowed as a carry on but I'm glad I went with this because there's more space and walking around for hours with a backpack is a lot more comfortable than walking around with a duffel. Also, the zipper on the front of the main bag that allows for you to view everything inside is great. No more digging around backpacks and dumping everything out.

I love this transformer. My son and his buddy have the men's version and we had plenty of space for a two week trip around Germany. I love that you can take the small pack off and use it as a day pack. I bought some roll bags from ebags to go inside and they fit perfectly. I'm 5' 8" and the pack fit me perfectly so I'm surprised someone said this was for petites. I am not. I have 5 Osprey packs and they are all great.

I love my Osprey!! I took this backpack on a 4 month backpacking trip and the durability is incredible. The zippers are crazy strong (and I've really overstuffed it sometimes) and the material holds up so well. I love how the bag has the removable day pack which you can wear on your front to help even out the weight, and to take on day trips. I also love how this bag is able to be locked (both normal pack and day pack) so I felt comfortable leaving it at a hostel etc. The fact that it is front loading is huge and makes it so much easier to pack but I would definitely recommend buying storage cubes to help organize the pack. I also like how you can tuck all the straps it if you're checking the bag on a flight so there's less risk straps could get stuck and ripped off. The 55 was perfect for me, as when it was full it was pretty heavy and I don't think I could've gone up a size. Would buy this bag again in a heartbeat!

I used this pack during my 2 month trip through Europe. I absolutely loved it! Its easily accessible since it opens like a suitcase, it fits 2-3 medium sized packing cubes without becoming too bulky, and the fact that it could convert into a duffel bag for flights was so convenient! I typically put the daybag on my chest for security and balance, and even though it was heavy, I remained comfortable even when carrying the load for long distances. It was so wonderful not having to drag a bulky suitcase on and off of trains and in and out of hostels. Every detail, from the ability to attach padlocks to the zippers, to the Velcro laptop compartment inside of the daybag (which I now use as an everyday backpack for school), was carefully designed and accommodated every one of my traveling needs. TL;DR? This incredible bag does the job of a bulky suitcase, with easier transport. And the daybag is amazing!!

My husband bought me this pack for Christmas for a trip to Europe in July and I couldn't be more pleased.. I packed 2 weeks worth of clothes into this pack and was extremely comfortable and happy. I would recommend the fairview 55 to any of my friends and family and will forever be a Osprey fan. Thank you so much.

I took this on a 5 month trip through Europe and Asia and am really happy with it. Since it zips open in the front, it's was super easy to reorganize and see all my things at once. I used the day pack often for day and weekend trips, it's a great easy-to-carry size. I will say, once overstuffed (50+ lbs) it made me feel too back heavy, unlike a super long top-load pack, if you put a lot of things in it, it grows too much in width. I generally wore it was two pieces, carrying the day pack on my chest for balance. Which I found to be convenient for reaching my passport, wallet, ect and not having to unclip it all the time. I'd buy it again. Though, I don't have to because after a long haul it's still in amazing condition.

I love this backpack. I bought it for my first trip to Europe and it served as the perfect travel backpack. I had no problems bringing it onto the plane as a carry-on, with the detachable daypack as a personal item. The rear flap that covers the belt and shoulder straps is great when stowing away the backpack. I also appreciate the lockable zippers on both the main backpack and daypack, especially when I stayed at hostels that didn't provide lockers. While trucking my stuff between cities and on trains, I appreciated how light the pack felt, because the fit is just right. The belt sits right on my waist without sliding down or chafing my hips and the shoulder straps curve inwards towards the chest. Best of all is the detachable daypack, which allowed me to drop off the majority of my things at a hostel, and right away go exploring armed with my daypack. I also love the rainforest green color - its not too drab and not overly bright.

Used this backpack on a spring break trip to Thailand, to avoid having to roll an awkward suitcase around a less-developed country. This was the perfect size and so versatile. The detachable daypack is what really sold me, and made it so useful for everyday use while leaving the larger backpack locked up at the hostels we stayed at. Not to mention how cute the colors are!

Bought this pack to take to Europe for 2 weeks. First bought the Men's as my measurements fit that better. But its frame 2" too long/tall to go as a carry on( MUCH Prefer the Men's RED color) . Returned it. Got the Women's. So I can take the pack as a carry on and the Day pack as my personal bag. All packed up for 2 weeks still have a little room (using packing cubes). The waist / hip strap was too short for my 36" waist ( I am 5'10" and height/weight proportional! ) Osprey made me an extender for my strap. NO CHARGE ( just took 6 weeks) Will give more info after my trip!

I was pleased to be able to easily carry my loads up and down stairs, walking across plazas, and other obstacles on a five week trip to Europe. I overstuffed the main pack, though, so the day pack would not zip on. The pack looks smaller than it is. You can stuff a lot into it -- probably too much. There is only one zippered pocket on the inside of the main compartment. To me, that's a disadvantage. Osprey would also also do well to make the zippers on the main pack a different color from the pack. The zippers can be hard to find in low-light situations because they blend in color-wise and slide into the bottom of the pack.

So thankful to have this bag for the past 6 months of traveling! The main compartment makes it very easy to access all of my clothes without having to rummage to the bottom of the bag. The zip-off backpack is high-quality and perfect for day hikes/adventures and for organizing my laptop and camera while traveling. If traveling during the winter with bulky sweaters, the main compartment won't fit a ton of clothes. When the backpack was full, I would get comments about how bulky it was, but as soon as you zip off the small backpack the main compartment is actually quite slim. I was able to take this bag as my personal item on budget European airlines without getting charged. I wouldn't recommend this backpack for long backpacking trips, but it's the perfect travel companion for getting around and the day-pack is great for shorter adventures!

I have many osprey products and was really disappointed with this. So glad I was able to go to a shop to try it! The waist belt is tiny. I am by no means a tiny girl but I'm not huge, and the waist belt was AT LEAST 20cm off being able to do up. As I said, I have many other osprey backpacks and don't have this issue. I was not trying on the petite one, I double checked. I really wanted this as the fit is so much better on me than the far point but it was a huge disappointment. I expected better from osprey.
