I love the durability of these shoes. Since they came out with a back I wanted to try them. I first tried the 40 and they were a tad too short. The 41 fit perfect, i wear a size 9.5. Looking forward to warm feet this winter as I wear these around the house.

This is my second pair of these super warm and comfortable shoes that I can wear all year. Cool in summer and warm in winter. I love them! They do stretch over time but it is hard to guess how much smaller than regular size to get because you can't guess how much they will stretch. It does take time to break them in but they are comfortable right out of the box.

LOVE! Disappointed to return. Great arch support, but my instep was a problem.

If you like wiggle-room for your toes, these are excellent. I'm a little undecided about having the heel cup, as it's a bit harder to get the shoes on, but I think having the heel piece will also give me just a little bit more warmth in the winter (absolutely necessary for my feet). I've been wearing Haflinger slippers for years now, and I suspect these will be just as well-made and long-lasting as previous pairs.

I liked the shoe style and feel of the footbed with the cork sole. Unfortunately, the slipper was too wide and just a bit too short (rubbing one of my toes). I wear a 9 with a med to narrow width and bought the 40 which I will return for a brand for a more narrow foot.

This is my 4th or 5th pair of Haflingers and I've now been wearing these for a few weeks. This style seems to be made strangely - on the left foot it feels like the wool is bunched up or overlapping just in front of my heel, which is only mildly annoying most of the time but occasionally uncomfortable, particularly if I am standing in one place for a long time. I originally assumed it was a bad pair, but zappos sent me a replacement pair and they were worse than the first ones, so I'm chalking it up to the style and am hoping that the bump flattens with time. All that said, I love them - I'd previously had the open backed ones but the closed back are awesome. Despite being a size 9, I have always worn a 39 in Haflingers and Birkenstocks but ordered these in both a 39 and 40, because I didn't know how socks and a closed back would affect the sizing. The 40s were too big but 39s felt slightly snug at first. I wore the 39s around with some thick socks for a couple of hours and between that and regular wear, they are totally comfortable, size-wise. Others have mentioned instep height issues - I did have some trouble getting my foot into them at first but after wearing for a week or two, i can put my foot in with no hand-intervention, just a little 'twisting', if that makes sense. I know a lot of people think of Haflingers as being indoor shoes but I wear mine out in NYC on a regular basis and they hold up great despite the many miles I walk each day. Overall, I highly recommend Haflingers in general and cautiously recommend this style (only because of the weird lump in the left shoe)

I've been wearing Haflinger GZL Leather Trim Grizzly for about a year now as slippers, and decided to give the GZH Zigzags a try because of the additional heel coverage that the Grizzly does not have, which I think would be warmer and more comfortable to wear outdoors. The Zigzags seem to run a touch larger than the Grizzly, although I am not sure that I'd really say it's actually a half size larger, like the drop down choices given for the purpose of this review, but they're larger nonetheless. I kept them because the size difference isn't so drastic that I felt like they were unwearable, and I'm wearing these with extra thick socks, anyway. The added heel part does seem to keep my feet warmer, and aside from the slight size difference, these are every bit as comfortable as I'd expect from Haflinger. They have great support, and I love that the cork footbed is covered in wool for warmth.

I wear a 9AA (US sizing) - this shoe feels exceptionally wide. The enclosed heel helps keep the shoe on & with thick socks feels more secure. I purchased the shoe for strictly at home wear indoors. This is perfect - easy to slip on/off. Very comfortable & keeps my feet very warm (I always have cold feet). The styling is spot on. I've recommended this shoe to others because of the comfort & styling. I emphasize the enclosed heel rather than the mule style. I would buy this shoe again in a different color to wear around town or for travel.

Sounded like a great idea but i guess i have a higher instep than i thought. Hard to get this shoe on and then my foot rattled around inside. Not working....

I am a size 8 and the 38 was way too big all over. My feet were swimming in them. They are very cute, and I wished I could have gotten them one size down, but Zappos didn’t have those available. They were returned

Way too narrow! I couldn't even put them on!

So disappointed. These looked cute in photos, but in person they look like dowdy slippers. No arch support, and really no cushioning at all. The insole is a sewn-in piece of fabric that is lumpy and bumpy underneath and the stitching on the sides is scratchy and also bumpy. Heartbroken!

The shoes are adorable. But I could not even get me foot in the shoe related to my high instep.This seems to be a common complaint with this style. Back they went.

Shoe was too large by one size, arch support was not as good as my other Halflingers. Nice style and I liked the heel back.

I really, really, really wanted these to work. I think they’re super cute as bedroom slippers *and* to wear with skirts & tights. They have a pretty decent arch support which is a huge plus for me with my plantar fasciitis. I normally wear a 7 1/2 M. After all is said and done, even though these slippers have backs on them, they still flop up & down with every step - - just like clogs. I need to feel more stability with my footwear and was hoping the backs on these would make them feel more like shoes. The size that Zappos recommended for me was 38 and they were huge all around. I then tried the 36 and they would have worked best as far as the flopping goes but sadly, they were too short and my big toe bumped the inside front of the shoe. I then tried the 37 and they also flopped up & down on my heel with every step. Conclusion: Adorable and well made slippers but just not right for me. ? I guess it’s back to unstylish Vionics if I want arch support.

I have a high instep and I found it too tight for me to comfortably get my foot inside both the smaller and next size larger. They are cute but I had to return them.

The handsome slipper was the correct length, but the part above the instep was too loose allowing the foot to advance to the front causing toes to continuously bump into the front. They're all boxed up for return to UPS this afternoon -- after very helpful discussion with Zappo's agent on related issues. Paradoxically, all three of the standard measures -- size, width, arch support -- for the slippers were satisfactory.

I was looking for slippers that provide a lot of cushioning. These slippers were very disappointing! The soles were hard and there seemed to be no cushioning for my feet at all. I am returning them. They had such good reviews I was sure I would love them but they could not have been worse. They look ugly too but I honestly would not have cared if they were comfortable.
