My feet have an impossible combination of needs to accommodate - - narrow heels, medium toe box, very high arches. (I feel certain that by now, my name must have become notorious in Zappos' return department!) But this sweet little shoe has been comfy right out of the box. The skinny velcro strap across the instep can accommodate my high arches and keep the shoe on my foot. The heel is narrow enough to hug my heel, and there's a good amount of padding inside the shoe. The sole is constructed well enough to make walking comfortable, even for someone like me who has significant problems with peripheral neuropathy. (If you don't know what that is...good for YOU - - keep it that way!!) This shoe looks cute with jeans, with many of my skirts and dresses, and does not look at all geriatric. I love this shoe. Might even order it in another color.

Very well made shoe. I originally ordered a 7 1/2 W in this shoe and it felt a bit loose. I returned and got the 7W, which fits perfectly. I have a small bunion on my right foot and this shoe affords superior comfort. Generally in closed toe shoes I find mostly that a 7 1/2 W fits best, but in this shoe, I sized down to the 7W. Leather is soft and the shoe it quite stable. The rubber bottom provides great traction and no slipping on wet or smooth surfaces. This shoe can be worn with casual skirts/dresses and tights or skinny pants.

I have a very wide foot w/ Bunions. From the moment I put them on, I could walk all day in them. I bought these shoes about 3 years ago and after a TON of wear, I finally had to buy another pair. This shoes ROCK!

These shoes are amazing in every way. I wear orthotics and with the removable insert, these shoes work great. And, the comfort level is over the top. I really like the faux clasp which hides the velcro closure so you can custom adjust the strap. I've received many compliments and even one stranger asked for details on where she might purchase a pair.

Excellent shoe. Very comfortable. I wear a 10.5 wide, had to order an 11 wide. It's a bit long (as expected). I wore them for an hour and no pinching. Wish there were more color options.

Right out of the box, I knew this was the perfect shoe! I wanted a walking shoe with good support that would be easy to get on and off at airports. I tried the Taos flat, which I loved and others have said it was super cute, which it was, but neither the 10 or the 10 ½ fit comfortably. Even though this shoe doesn't slip off as quickly as a flat, it works for my purposes. I'm just sorry they didn't have it in red. When that comes back in stock, I'm reordering the shoes, it is that comfy.

These are beautiful shoes. They are clearly comfort shoes, with a solid base and arch support, but they are more delicate and attractive than many other comfort Mary Jane shoes. I had to return them because they didn't fit. They are too wide. (I have a wide foot and a wide shoe is *never* too wide!) They may also be too long, but I can't tell yet. I returned them and ordered the same shoe in the same size, but a medium width. Hoping that does the trick.

These are gorgeous shoes and they fit well, but the footbed was not contoured for my feet. This is a big disappointment because I wanted to keep them.

I love these shoes. This is my first pair of Taos shoes. A friend of mine had them on and said they were very comfortable. I ordered the black from Zappos and received them the next day. Wore them for a few days, put my insoles in and wore them more. They look cute on and go with pants, skirts, dresses. I just got back from a week in New York City and a week in Washington, D.C. and these cute Mary Janes were a dream. I took Mephisto tennis shoes for all the walking, but changed to these very quickly. We walked 50 miles in ten days, sometimes 7 miles in one day. These were comfortable with or without socks, good arch support, roomy in the toe box and always felt secure with the little strap. I was so surprised, because I only took them for going out to dinner, the theater, etc. Ran true to size and very good quality. Plan to get them in another color soon. Buy them, you won't be sorry. And thanks, Zappo's for the prompt service.

I was concerned about finding the right shoe in that I have neuropathy and also wear a lift in my left shoe. Also I hate wearing orthopedic-looking shoes. These are light weight, stylish and fit perfectly! They are surprisingly comfortable and accommodate my lift fine. I'll probably order another pair in brown or pewter.

The strap on this shoe makes my ankle look as svelte as an ankle strap, with more comfort! I love this style.

Love these shoes! No blisters! I have such a hard time finding comfortable stylish shoes in my size (11), but these are perfect. I liked them so much, I ordered two more pairs in other colors.

They’re beautiful but too big in the size I ordered. Perfect for the wedding I wanted them for but need a different size. The only thing I might add is that for people with mobility issues, the small heel area height might make you feel less stable.

Thanks to all who stated they run long. I ordered my normal size and a half size shorter. The shorter one fits wonderfully. The leather on these shoes is amazingly soft :) I have a super high arch, wide feet, and a large bunion. The strap across the arch is, amazingly, long enough. The toe box is roomy enough for my wide feet. The cushioning is great. I feel like I have on my athletic shoes without the clunky look. Just what I needed for a trip to England in the fall.

I accidentally ordered the wrong size and it was too big. Good quality and the insole was perfect. I really wanted a lower heel to walk all over Italy, but I may decide to reorder later .

I love these shoes. I bought all 3 colors. They do run big. I would suggest a half size smaller. Very comfortable.

Like most of the other reviews I glanced at- these are really great shoes- right now, they're my favorite!! For travel, they sometimes set of the alarms at TSA, sometimes not (unlike my other taos mary janes that "always" set off the alarm) but they are super comfortable, and really cute with skinny jeans (and the rounded toe is a good look for those of us with big feet (size 10+)...and along those lines- the size 11- is a true 11 (not size 42- which do not fit me). I've toured cities on foot- I commute by bus, I travel a lot and these are my go to shoes for all of it. My only complaint is that the velcro strap often comes undone (particularly on my left shoe). I wish it had a loop that allowed the velcro to fold over on itself, to make it more secure, but this inconvenience is far outweighed by the fit and visual style benefits. Occasionally cleaning your velcro of dust and debris helps with the stickiness- but I believe that because the strap is narrow, there just isn't enough material contact to make the strap grip securely. I did have to swap out the insoles with the ones my podiatrist recommended: SOLE DK signature response, and it doesn't seem like that has made a difference in the way they fit, but I suppose that could be a cause of the velcro issue.

Received it today--as usual, it was delivered the next day after I ordered it. It is a darling black Maryjane style. Feels wonderful on. It looks very stylish and I know I can wear it with skirts as well as pants. Taking them on a trip to Prague. I know I won't have to worry about comfort. Seem very supportive in the arch and good toe box room, but still enough room for a thin sock or leggings, which I will probably need in Prague. Been looking for a long time for this shoe. Thank you Zappo's for your excellent service. I never worry when buying from you. Waiting for the pewter pair to become available!

I am a 68 year old large woman. I ordered a 10W in this shoe which is my normal size. I had been trying on dressy flats with no luck whatsoever. This shoe fits and is comfortable---at least for a few hours since I've only had them since this morning---and, although maybe it's a bit sporty for some people, it is dressy enough for my purposes. The toe area is deep enough to keep my toes from being smashed. The strap is attached with Velcro and I can easily adjust it so it is not too tight for my foot. The shoe is really very nicely made, and I'm so glad I found it. Thank you to Zappo's for making this shopping experience a good one!

I love these shoes. They're stylish enough for my office but very comfortable for walking. I had to get a half size larger than usual though. My usual size didn't have enough room in the toe box.
