I'm usually a 9, but I ordered 9.5 and it is a comfortable fit. Definitely worth the sale price! (I ordered the rust.) If you have a very wide foot, however, you may want to go a full size up, as the toe box runs narrow. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the lacing: the top doesn't have the traditional hook, but a bolt with a hole. to push the lace through. It took some small effort to pull the lace through. That being said, I'm thinking of ordering the black as well.

I found the boot to be good in length and width. I also like how they look. However, the quality is not good! You can tell that the hides they use are of the best quality, supple and with beautiful natural grain, however the padded tongue on both boots would not sit correctly in anyway, it looks bad and felt uncomfortable. Don’t know what’s going on with Frye right now but for the last 12 months, whilst their materials have been of the same high standard, the manufacturing has been off. Mismatched shoes being a big issue. Yes all hides have natural flaws but at least try to put together a pair of shoes that match! Please get it back together Frye. You charge high end prices, have great designs and use premium hides but your manufacturing, pairing, and quality control leave a lot to be desired

I bought a black pair of these hikers last winter & wore them more often than I imagined I would. They're very comfortable & I plan to buy another pair in a cognac. I got frequent complements from strangers & friends on the expensive look, the buttery appearing (and feeling) leather and the modern heel.

These boots are stunning in person! The color is rich, the leather is thick and the overall craftsmanship is exceptional. My advice is to go a half size smaller. I generally fit in a size 7 to 7 1/2 depending on the brand. In Frye I usually take their size 7, but some reason these boots run a half size larger. Don't be discouraged if the boots seem stiff and uncomfortable at first, they need to be worn a few times to break them in (to soften the leather). I couldn't ask for a better boot, these will last me a long time.

I went by the reviews and sized up a half size- glad I did, because with socks or tights (as these are to be worn with they fit just right. They are SO comfortable, soft, and stylish. I am so glad I purchased (given sale price). If you are on the fence- DO IT.

Buttery leather, very comfortable & stylish boot that garners compliments daily. I bought the red & the gray wool shoelaces & they make the black boots pop. People stop me & ask to see them closer. They are prettier in person and look very sturdy. I've had them nearly a year & they haven't scuffed. I treat them with leather conditioner & they still look brand new. Worth every cent.

Boots look perfect. Following advices from other reviews I ordered half a size larger (8) but i believe my size 7,5 would fit me better. Anyway they are comfortable despite of some vacant space in toe box. Satisfied with the purchase.

These boots are so soft, comfortable, and warm. I bought them half a size larger because one of the other reviews said the toe box was pretty narrow, and I’m really glad I did. There is just moderate arch support but it is more than you normally get from Frye boots. Very satisfied with these stylish little boots.

In white, these are gorgeous, distinctive boots. They are also comfortable and require no breaking in like regular hiking boots. My only quibble is that the highest two shoelace grommets must be threaded through a hole like thread in a needle. This is kind of a hassle.

I got these shoes in black and they are even more attractive in person. The leather is soft and shiny. Easy to scuff, but also easy to buff, especially if you have the Frye shoe shine. The contrasting laces are eye catching and adds to the stylishness of the shoe. The construction is amazing! These shoes are going to last for years. Sturdy stitching and metal lace holders. Well made rubber sole, that were perfect shock absorbers. I wore these all day on xmas and they were comfortable right out the box. I actually received multiple complements on the shoe. These are worth the price since I plan on wearing them for years like most of my other Frye boots.

That is what the salespeople in another shop said to me when I walked in. They were sold out---because these are the bomb. They are great for walking but stylin enough to wear out in Brooklyn! A great shoe.

I'm pleased w/ this purchase- IMHO, they are cuter in person. The top of the toe box is a tad snug across the instep, but I'll take them to the cobbler's to get stretched if needed. The length is true to my other Frye's, so I won't be exchanging. I'm glad I got the red shoelaces. I admit to choking a bit on the price, but Frye's have longevity. For those who want their Frye's crafted in the USA, go to the menu, then Collections, then Made in the USA.

I bought these boots last winter (might be last year's model as they have white in the laces) and I love them. They are super comfortable, warm, and stylish. The thick soles provide great traction. They're easy to put on and my heels don't slip up and down (sometimes that happens even in boots that are the correct size). My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the leather is extremely soft considering the ruggedness of the boot so I have to be diligent with my leather care.

I was going to return these, because like others, I got them with one of the grommets already fallen out, but realized they were sold out in my size, so I just had it repaired. That said, you can tell they're very well made otherwise with high-quality leather, and the tongue is very plush. They're super cool looking, however they're fairly heavy at 1lb, 11oz each; not something I'd want on a long day of walking. (Yeah, I weighed them.)

I would love to talk to the reviewers who've said that they've worn these for years with no scuffing, because I had to return two different pairs within a few weeks with very severe peeling issues. It seems crazy to be saying this but the leather is just too soft. It peels within a wear or two and I simply couldn't stomach having paid full price for them. That said, if you do have a trick to keep them from peeling (leather conditioner ain't it, by the way), you should buy them, because they're adorable and comfortable and they break in really quickly. I ended up buying them in brown rugged leather instead, and that leather has held up well, like my other fryes.

Bought a pair in store and they felt fine. Got them home and there seemed to be so much excess material in the tongue it left a mark on my foot and I couldn't even keep it on to wear it. Returned them and ordered a new pair. Felt great. Took a bit to break in (about 2 weeks). Had them on yesterday and went to tie them, didn't even tug to tighten, and the top grommet came right out of the leather. Can't get it back in myself. The day in store I tried on another color and one of the lower hooks pulled the leather tab right out of the boot. Should have been a sign. For the cost these boots should be perfect and not breaking grommets in 2 weeks of wear. Highly disappointed in the quality.

I wanted to keep these, but they literally came in broken. I opened them up and the toggle was broken, the middle leather piece that holds the shoe lace also broke the first time I tightened the laces. These are a great idea, but very poor quality. These are also incredibly heavy. Sent back.

I bought these shoes in both black and white. When I went to lace up the shoes, several of the clasps/holes for the laces broke off.... this happened with BOTH pairs of shoes. So dissapointed because they are so cute. Seems very unlike Frye to make a quality error like this.
