I love the old version of this sock that has a simple oval opening. I hope they bring that version back. I bought a pair of these, and they fall off all the time. I wear boat shoes seven days a week. Luckily, I have about 10 pairs of the old design. I'm hoping smart wool will bring back the old design before these socks wear out!

This particular iteration of the Smartwool no show sock is a failure for me. The heel will not stay in place. I've been through three versions of this sock: Discontinued no show sock - fabric band all the way around the ankle hole. This one worked very well. Current no show sock (product being reviewed) - self hemmed ankle hole with a thick hem at the heel only, very low sides. This one does not work Current "sneaker style" no show sock - thick hem all the way around the ankle hole, higher sides and smaller ankle hole overall. This one works. This version may be exposed in say a boat shoe, but is concealed in most other men's styles. I would recommend shoppers look at this one instead. Also - note to smartwool - I'm having trouble ordering that "sneaker" version, I keep receiving this version instead, but in the sneaker style packaging. And as mentioned above - this version doesn't work! You have some sort of issue on your packaging line I think...

I wanted them to wear with my Topsider's. They don't stay on, the heal slips. Won't buy another pair. Still like all the other socks I have bought.

I bought these for my father last year and he loved them. I got him more this Father's Day and sadly all of the other reviews are true! They are a horrible fit, and nothing like the prior design.

As you can surmise by other reviewers, this iteration of Smartwool's No Show Sock is a dud. While I appreciate updating products as much as the next consumer, there wasn't much to improve in previous versions, and unfortunately, the change has been for the worse. The previous version featured a simple elastic oval design that likely accommodated a wide range of feet and footwear; this version has a more ergonomic, less-fabric design, sporting a lower cut around the vamp of the foot and shallower heel cup. This results in socks that slip off in pedestrian use. They're not good and I will not purchase additional socks. I won't throw them in the bin, but I'm relegating them to the back of the drawer for desperate times. Please bring back the previous design.

The heel on these won't stay on longer then 30 seconds, infuriatingly frustrating.

These socks used to have an elastic band, and they were the greatest socks I've ever worn. Cut to, need some new socks, order these. They have changed the design and taken away the elastic band, one wash and they're so tight they have to stretch over my foot, in the same size I've always bought them in, mind you. Please go back to the original design, if it's not broke, don't fix it!

The elastic band used to go around the entire sock in an oval. Worked great. No slippage. Now they sculpted the sides of the sock. It slides down my feet in loafers simply walking 30 feet from living room to the kitchen. Terribly annoying. The old model worked incredibly well for summer. Will not purchase again.

So I bought 6 pairs of these no show socks having worn them exclusively for several years. I tried every brand of no show sock and these used to be the best. What makes a company change the design of something that works perfectly. I put a pair of these newly designed socks on, took my dog for a short walk, and both socks came off my heels and ended up in the bottom of my shoe. This is extremely frustrating. I will never buy again. I really wish I could give less than one star.

I wear a size 8.5 sneaker and always buy Medium that fits perfectly with no excess material... until this sock. I have 2 pairs of the their older no-show socks that had a 3 color block pattern and that fits me like all of their other socks. This new model however leaves a bunch of excess fabric on my heel that I have to tuck into my shoe, which is sometimes uncomfortable because it's all bunched up. Basically I feel the Medium sizing range is more like 6-9 vs the stated 6-8.5.

I have worn Smart Wool no show socks for years, but the recently ordered ones were not up to the standard of prior purchases. A significant hole occurred with the second wearing. I have returned my last purchase for refund. No doubt my older socks are by far superior to any other products I have tried, but these simply aren't near the former quality.
