Customer Reviews Ariat Catalyst VX Defiant 8" GTX

Might be my anatomy, but since I've never had a problem with Ariats before (and I have several other pairs) I doubt it. The fit of these around my heel never settled (something about the way the leather ruckles-up), so I've sent them back. Have tried several walks of about 5 miles or so and every time they've taken skin off my heel. Assumed they were just wearing in, but it's taken too long for that. Real shame, since they're beautifully made and the sole, laces, uppers, etc. are all excellent. But I can't wear them!

I prepared and polished the boots before use, but on their first outing in wet grass, they both leaked on top of my feet. On the second outing they leaked again.

I bought these a year ago for a elk hunt in Idaho. I wore them hiking at home to break them in. Then walked 35 miles on the hunt. The boots rubber horrible blisters on my heels and big toes. I used good merino wool socks. The rubber on the toe separated from the leather on one of the boots. I thought I was buying a quality not but sadly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend these.
