First off this boot is made in Mexico, not China like other Ariats. You are getting a Mexican made boot here. The picture on Zappos website is too light, the boot is a little darker, not so much as to complete change the way the boot looks but something to consider. The boot looks great and the insole is amazing. I want to get these insoles in all my other shoes. It is like a gel type. My foot sits very well in the boot. I dont know if the boot is truly a half size smaller because the ball of my foot sits in the right spot, but the heel slippage feels to be too much. The sole and heel cap of the boot are great, slip reistant rubber. I've walked over ice in these and have been happy with it. I also like that these can be resoled later down the road, per Ariats website. These are very comfortable after a short break in. The QC leaves something to be desired. This is where I have an issue. The stitching on the welt is poor in some places, doesn't follow the toe around but comes in too far. One the body of the boot, some of the places where the two different leathers line up are not lined up at all. The leather in the shaft is thin and can tear easily in small places. For the price and where it is made, it's questionable if I would buy again. I say that because it looks like a Chinese made boot when it's not. I would rather spend the same amount of money and get an American made Justin to be honest.
