My feet run only slightly wide, so this review might be more applicable for people with the same. The length of the shoe is fine, but for some reason they run extremely narrow and are very tight around the top half (arch to toes) of my feet. I've only had that squeezing sensation when I've tried on shoes that are just a size or two too small, but the combination of proper length and a disproportionally narrow body leaves me confused. I did read that this is an issue for some, but figured I'd give it a try after they felt good when I tried them on at the store. I noticed a hot spot on each foot where the shoe fit tight. Since then, I've loosened the laces and that has helped reduce the pressure slightly. Though now the laces barely have any length left at the end and I find them coming undone a lot...a very minor problem. If your feet run slightly wide, I would recommend trying them on at a store and really paying attention to potential tight/bothersome areas that will become exacerbated once on your feet for more than a few hours.

These shoes look amazing, but they are not really comfortable for long walks, over your thumb you feel some pain after walking 2 hr. They are narrow in the tip
I recommend them for a short walk in the city.

Very comfortable shoe, however, the pull tab on the back is not secured well, especially when you consider that ther is no tongue to open up the front. This should not happen, if climbing shoe manufacturers can secure their tabs (which get pulled wat harder) then this shouldn't be an issue.

Way too tight both length and width. Size calculator is way off. Other brands I wear 10.5 or 11. Need at least a 12 with these.

Les chaussures sont magnifique te trs confortable. La qualit est cependant dplorer au niveau de la jonction entre la partie tissue ar et la partie enduite: le tissus ar se coupe petit petit sur les zones de plie de la chaussure.

I never write reviews but wish I had been warned, so here's my warning to you. The shoes felt comfortable at first, but by the second walk (not even a hike) the hard outer-sole started creasing on top of bony parts of the foot. This was very painful. I forced myself to keep wearing them a couple times more in hopes that the creases would move to a more natural bend in the foot, but they did not. These shoes will actually damage your feet.

I bought these to replace my old Acrux FL GTX, which were the best shoes in the world. They were extremely comfortable and protected the foot against all kinds of abrasion.
I was expecting something similar from SL GTX because after the FL was discontinued, the SL is the only viable replacement on offer. But the truth is that the SL is just a shoe with no added value whatsoever. Dirt gets in easily, it gives me heel blisters even after a considerable break-in period, my feet can't breathe in them (they could in the FL), and the only plus I can see is the reduced weight, but I'd be worried about what that might mean for their durability (only more time will tell). I think unless the FL GTX make a comeback, I will have to look for another brand for my shoes.

Slightly smaller than normal. Falling apart and it has not even been a year! I hiked in these shoes once since I have had them and it was a light hike at that. The bottom of the sole is coming unglued the edges of the ventilation are coming apart. The most disappointing Arcteryx purchase I have ever made. Because of these issues I will not be purchasing any Arcteryx merchandise. Based on other unfavorable reviews they too are reporting the same issues I have with my shoes.

I've been wanting these shoes for some time. It's hard to find size 13 in-store, so I've never had an opportunity to try them on and finally decided to order online (which was still a challenge for my shoe size). Well I got them this week and wore them around the office for a day. They would have been perfect... except the stiff upper creases right into my big toe joint, causing serious discomfort (see photo). I had hoped that by wearing them through a day the upper would find a more natural crease and be comfortable, but no such luck. I have to return them. And I have such great experience with all my other Arc'teryx gear. If it weren't for that, I'd have given 5 stars.
