I have a had a terrific and comfortable pair of Bostonians that I purchased a bit over 2 years ago at Macy's. I went back to purchase another pair to discover they were no longer carried at our Macy's. I purchased a pair online here at Zappo's that match what I had except in one very important area. The insole of my original pair had a bit of an arch support to them that made them amazingly comfortable. However, the new pair has a basic insole with no arch support and it is not comfortable. Of course, I swapped the insole which to a degree took care of the issue, however they are as old as my old shoes and should be replaced also, but will work for now. I am just writing to provide customer input/feedback. The new cheaper (I assume) insole is not comfortable and not what I expected from a Bostonian shoe.

Unexpected goodness. Extremely lightweight and comfortable, feel like athletic shoes. Usually dress shoes are stiff and heavy. Highly recommended.

Good fit, good looking shoe. This is really a dark brown. From photos, thought it might be a little Burgundy (was hoping). But if looking for Dark Brown, good shoe.

These shoes were a bit tight when I first tried them on, which isn’t unusual. I decided to wear them which usually results in the shoes stretching them to fit nicely. After a couple of days the left shoe fit fine, and the length and width of the right shoe also stretched to a good fit. The problem remained that there was a constant pressure at the top of my foot with the right shoe. This became so painful I could no longer wear the shoe. This was not a length/width problem but rather seemingly a shoe construction defect as the height was too short. Of course, now that I wore the shoes they could no longer be returned. Given this defect, I have a useless pair of shoes that I cannot wear and cannot even give to charity, because of the height defect.

I love the light-weight shoes and rubber soles make this the perfect, most comfortable business shoes I've ever owned! I bought them black, but wish it came in Burgandy as well.

Ordering took a while to arrive, but the shoes fit perfectly out of the box. I will buy again.

When I decided to shop for these shoes I read some of the previous reviews. I am saddened by the fact that Bostonian shoes are no longer made in Italy with the soft leather my others have, that said, my others are at least 20 years old, are still as soft and supple as ever and look pretty good too. But there is a time one needs a second pair and the Wenham Cap was my choice. The leather is quite a bit thinner, and the shoe is easily half the weight of my older ones, but the fit is perfect, the arch support is great and they really look good. For the price I'd say this is a really good shoe, my only concern is the sole. I noticed right out of the box that they were a little slick when I stepped outside on a misty day, I certainly hope this slipperiness goes away. Once winter hits fully I will soon find out.

This has been my go-to dress shoe for work for maybe five years. With most dress shoes, I get crippling arch pain after wearing them a couple hours. I'm great in sneakers, but not in dress shoes. However, I recently purchased another two pairs of this shoe to replace my others, and they are not the same. First, the rubber at the bottom of the shoe seems to have gotten tougher, because these shoes now give me arch pain. True, it's not as bad as other shoes. But I can no longer walk several blocks in these shoes without pain, like I could in the previous iteration from 2 years ago. Also, the leather is a much lower quality - after just a few days in the shoes, they appeared extremely scuffed up and worn, like they were a year old. Given that they look old after a few days and they hurt my feet, I'm back on the hunt for a new dress shoe. Extremely disappointing.

I have owned a pair like this one before. They are super comfortable and style well for business dress. They are also true to size.

Planning on going dancing in these shoes. They are polished and ready to go.

Fit my 13 yr old son with comfort and no complaints. They look nice, fancy enough to wear with a tux, which he did, prob most appropriate for regular dress (suit or dress pants), but they did the trick with the tux as I wanted to ensure comfort for him.

Fit and size were perfect. After 2 years of near-daily wear, they are still in good shape and still very comfortable. I am about to re-order the same pair!

The size and fit are very good. They hold up with everyday use. With an insert, they provide very good arch support. Slight squeaking on the left shoe when I step down stairs, but it doesn't occur when I'm walking on flat ground. The heels are rubber and are wearing out.

My son wore these with a costume. He’s 12, but wearing men’s shoes already. No complaints and looked dressy.

The shoes felt true to with in size and were comfortable without any break in period.
