Purchased these boots based on reviews here and other sites. I ordered size 10.5 EE which is my size in other boots I have. The front of my foot was overly tight but my heel was free floating on the back of the boot. Tightening the strings did not seem to help. The boot also seemed to have the heel fit more standard to a slip on as it did not have much inward taper towards the heel allowing your heel to slip up and down (could already feel the blisters coming). The tongue of the boot also seemed lacking, just a thin piece of leather that bunches together when you tightened the strings. Weight was fine and the look is good, but overall not super impressed with the boot. Not sure where all the hype is coming from, I've worn better boots for half the cost. I don't have a problem paying double for American Made boots, but they should at a minimum fit and feel as good as foreign made boots. Will be returning them and looking for something different.

I just couldn't get these to fit right. I wear a Red Wings size 10d. I tried the 10d here and they were awfully narrow. I tried the 10ee and they were still too narrow AND the entire show was too big.

These are THE Boot among boots. Heavy duty and comfortable. I bought them for being American made and they showed. Super high quality. If your job proves harsh on boots and your looking for something that will last. These are for you. With all that said they are heavy. So if your looking for a lightweight boot maybe try there other options.

very narrow despite large width size

Best fit was one size smaller than my usual size. These boots are built to last. I averaged about 12 miles a day for 16 months in these boots and they have aged extremely well. With the exception of the soles that will need to be replaced soon, the condition of the boot is better than new since the leather is now form-fitted to the contours of my foot. In addition, for a little over a hundred bucks Thorogood will replace the soles, clean and condition the boot, and replace the insoles and shoelaces.

This product is fully made in the USA and one of the main reasons I purchased them. Secondly, the leather and comfort are amazing however this is not a walking show. The position I'm in now I walk an average of 6 miles a day and I'm always on my feet, at least 11 hours of continuous movement. They are a very heavy well-built (Heavy) shoe/boot however I did experience pain during the break-in period. Recommend gel inserts.

This boot that is made in the USA is not only very stylish, but is also very comfortable to wear right out of the box. The only downside for me is that the soles are very soft (squishy) and while that is good for comfort, it allows my foot to bend too easily. This may not be a problem for most, as I have very flat feet. I'd rather see a bit more rigidity in the soles, which is why I left the Overall rating at a 4.

Overall I absoultey love these shoes, if you pick these shoes in paticular youve got great taste, Ive done literally everything in these boots from walking hundreds of miles in a warehouse too taking them on hikes with me. ive done multiple nights backpacking and these shoes can withstand rivers and deep snow. overall a great choice if you need an all around reliable COOL looking shoe.

These boots are very well made and are reasonably priced for a quality boot. They have a short break in period of a couple of days. Very comfortable overall now.

I was a bit concerned about finding the correct fit as It's common that boots are sized 1/2 size larger than sneakers. These fit perfectly true to size! I had to read the label to ensure these did actually have a steel toe. They just look amazing and feel as good as they look. The only slight issues I have is the lace eyelets on the left boot isn't aligned, the laces themselves are thin cords and the tongue seems oversized so it bunches up a lot. Nonetheless, I expect these to last for the next 3-5k miles I'll walk in them over the next year.

I don’t normally buy wide but with these I had to go that way. With the wide option, they fit perfectly.

Overall the boots fit well and are comfortable. I ordered a EE wide and it felt like a normal width, so these do run narrow. I've owned Thorogood boots before and they held up for years with constant abuse and no upkeep. If you use leather conditioner every once in a while, they'll last until you wear through the sole.

I am pretty happy with these boots. Before this I had worn Red Wings, but I was unhappy with their price. The fit is good, stitching and materials are very high quality. Break in isn't too bad so far. The top part of the boot where the topmost lace point is feels like the leather is folded over a piece of rope. That is not comfortable for me, but I think it may be something that I will get used to or will break in. I am noticing that some of the dye on the inside of the boot is coming off on my white socks. All in all, these are very nice boots and I am feeling much safer with the steel toe. I purchased these after I dropped a 200 lb piece of maple and broke a toe while wearing my Red Wings mocs without a safety toe. Live and learn. Even with the broken toe, I have enough room in the safety toe of the Thorogoods.

I waited 6 month to write this review. I purchased these boots with comfort in mind as I spend most of my weekends working in a metal shop on a concrete floor. In short, these are the most comfortable work boots I have ever worn - ever. An added bonus is that they are holding up really well.

I got these after returning a pair of steel-toed Chippewas, which were too narrow for me, even in the EE width. I'm happy to say that these fit perfectly, are clearly of top-quality construction, and actually look better in person than in pictures. Moderate break in and I've been putting in 60-plus hours a week on my feet in them on the job with no complaints.

Most comfortable work boots ever. I am a weekend warrior who spends 8 hours a day standing on a concrete floor in a metal shop. These boots are teh only boots ever wher at the end of teh day my back, knees, and fet don't hurt. Well done Thorogood.
