Birkenstock closed-toe shoes tend to usually be pretty darn frumpy, in my opinion. Not these boots, though! The moto styling is still on trend without being too unstructured, which I appreciate. The toe is nice and round and the toebox has plenty of room to wiggle your toes, even with socks on the thicker side. The regular width seems to be consistent with the Arizona sandals, for reference. They run true to size, especially if you know what Birkenstock size you normally take. There is enough room in the shoe to accommodate even high arches-- while I can feel the top of the shoe on my foot, there isn't really any pressure or hot spots developing, even after heavy wear. I've worn these shoes on many different surfaces and during long days of standing and running around and have yet to feel sore at the end of the day. When you first put on the boots it might be a little bit of a challenge, but a little wiggling will get your foot in just fine. So far I have only run into two issues: the leather scuffs fairly easily (but smooth, shiny leathers always do), and when I walk I can feel the insole flop up just the tiniest bit. This may be unavoidable, since the insoles are removable, but I might also just walk strangely, since it doesn't do it if I walk in a particular way. It's definitely not a deal-breaker, though!

Beautiful leather and great arch support! This is a narrower and more dainty look than the other Birkenstock boot which I also tried (I think the style is Stowe). Do not order your sandal size! I went up a size from what I get in Birkenstock sandals, and I still felt the toe was a little short. Sadly I had to return for that reason, but it is a great looking boot!

I LOVE these boots. They're comfy, they zip up nicely and they have excellent arch support which I need. They're in a stylish color and go with all sorts of things, especially jeans. I have larger calf muscles and most boots don't fit me, but these did and I'm so excited about it! They fit my wider, but still within regular size, feet. The high arches are great since I had ankle surgery a few years ago that left me with tender feet! Highly recommend if you like birkenstocks and they've always fit well. They obviously will have a slight break in period, but most shoes and boots do. Will definitely order another pair of birkenstock boots!

Boots felt a little snug at first. Very comfortable, with excellent footbed Birkenstock is known for. Nice styling, soft leather. Excellent shoe.

I have really bad feet and very few shoes feel good. Birkies are always a winner and this boot didn't disappoint. I actually hesitated to spend the extra money but year after year, I spend $50 on cheap boots that need replacing. These will never be replaced, maybe fixed by my local cobbler, but never replaced. That's what I love about the Birkenstock brand. They can be fixed when the sole starts to go, which is after many years AND they last and last. I still have my original Birkenstock's I bought over 15 years ago. A final note, I loved this boot so much, I came back and bought another pair!

I was a little nervous to get these, as the Arizona regular width is a bit too wide on me, but these boots are AMAZINGLY comfortable, and with normal (thicker) winter socks, should be fine. I have a narrow heel and it slips a bit, but not enough to be annoying. I take a 40 / 9 US. Highly recommend, more comfy than my Uggs and much better support. Will be my daily shoes this winter.

Gorgeously made boots. Beautiful leather Made in Portugal. Unfortunately, they are too hard to get on with my high instep so I will be returning them.

I bought the dark brown Birkenstock Collins boots last year, and this year I'm purchasing the black ones. I'd previously purchased the Stowe boots, which are very comfortable. I consistently wear an American size 10. In European sizes, I usually wear a 41, although sometimes I need to size up to a 42 -- perhaps because the size equivalents aren't always, well, equivalent. In Birkenstock sandals, I consistently wear a 41. The Stowe boots, in 41, are very comfortable, with ample room in the toe box. The Collins boots that I purchased last year have a more narrow cut, and are shorter -- uncomfortably so. The Collins boots are beautiful and well-made, and the foot-bed is as comfortable as you would expect Birkenstocks to be. The narrower cut gives the boot a sleek look, nicely combining support with style. I've ordered these boots in black, and gone up a size with this year's order.

These are great boots. I'm a young professional with very persnickety feet. I was looking for something comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Beautiful leather. Well made. Nice toe box. Good arch support. Unfortunately they press on a painful spot on the top of my foot where my cuneiform & metatarsal bones meet, so I have to send them back. I think lots of other people will love them.

These are great boots. Super cute, super comfy and almost perfectly flat - the trifecta! That said, they don't offer the same kind of arch support the sandals do. They're significantly narrower than the Stowe boots, but still wide enough for my slightly wide toes, with plenty of room to wiggle. The opening is wider than you'd expect but instead of looking sloppy it has some magical effect that makes my calves look thinner. Win! If you're looking for a flat boot that's a little dressier so you could wear them to the office (but still casual), you can't go wrong with these.

Excellent boot for a wider foot. I did not however like the stiffness of the top of the leather.

Gorgeous boots -- I just loved the warm color. Unfortunately, the metatarsal padding was a bit much for my foot. These boots seem very well made and it was a shame I had to return them.

It is very stiff around the ankle. The material that overlaps under the buckles rubs against my ankles and causes some soreness. The insole doesn’t have the toe grips like the sandals do, but arch support feels pretty good. Will keep the boots, but disappointed with how stiff they are.

Ordered sizes 39 (my usual size) and 40, taking into account other reviews' comments on sizing. Tried on the 39s, and stopped there. I used to have very narrow feet, before I developed bunions on both sides. Got the toe bunions removed, but the pinky ones are still keeping me in medium widths. The boot feels just about right around my arches and my heel, but there's a LOT of room for the toes. I don't think that my feet are going to be sliding forward, even after the boots have been worn a while. The leather is very smooth, but heavier than many boots I've tried. This makes me hopeful of getting many years' wear out of these. And while a relatively thin sock works OK, I think these may feel even better with a thicker sock. The top of the boot doesn't seem to be rubbing on my leg, something that heavier-leather boots sometimes do. All in all, I'm pretty happy with these boots. They're fairly pricey, but that's Birkenstocks for you. The sandals I own have got several years' wear on them, and they're still looking good. I hope this holds true for these boots.

These feel wonderful and are very comfortable, but they are big and clunky. I guess that’s what you expect from Birkenstocks. The comfort was perfect, but the look just wasn’t feminine enough for me.

These were comfie right out of the box and I can fit my orthotics inside because the insoles are removable. The width of the shaft is too wide for my skinny ankles and they feel a bit like galoshes. They might work if you need a weather proof winter boot but I live in Arizona and don't need anything this heavy or bulky.

I bought the Stowe boot about 2 years ago and I LOVE them. Very comfortable, I can wear them all day and my feet never feel tired or stressed. Unfortunately this style, The Collins, felt stiff and a bit narrow. I do have a wider than average foot, but if your foot is average or narrow these will probably work well for you.

Very comfortable boot. I am a size 9 and ordered a 40. It is roomy but I don't think I would go down a size as I would wear in the winter with warmer socks. I am returning due to looks. I was looking for something a little more feminine.
