I ordered this shoe for a February trip to Paris, where weather should be cold (30sF), wet with slushy snow. I wanted a solid black bootie that was warm and water-resistant or water-proof. We plan on doing alot of walking, and home here in NYC I walk 5-6 miles everyday, so I was hoping to find something I could use where I live as well. I ordered 1/2 size down from my normal 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I put them on for the first time early Sat morning, did a 6 mile walk in low 30F temp, and wore them until bedtime. These shoes are supportive, comfortable and very warm without being too hot. I absolutely love these shoes! I think they are stylish in an urban way, and plan on also wearing them to my job in a school. They stop right above the ankle, which is fine for most of the winter weather I'm in. Its been awhile since I bought a shoe of any type that I love EVERYTHING about, but this is it!
I'd also recommend:

I ordered a 7 1/2 ( usually an 8) and the fit was perfect. I use these to walk my dog on city streets in the winter. They are super warm, great traction and look stylish.

I was shopping for a new shoe to use for hiking and walking my dogs and this one is better than I was expecting! They kept my feet warm and dry, plus they don’t have the hiking boot look, which I was sick of. The traction on them is great for when the ground is wet and muddy, plus I felt like my feet were cushioned and supported. The only down side is I wish I could wrap the laces back around the boot for better ankle support because they are a little loose, and I wish it at a composite toe. (I am very rough with my shoes) But overall very comfortable, and I am keeping them, and hope they keep up with me!

I wanted something light to walk the dog in and these are perfect! Bonus is they look good on the streets or on the fields!

Perfect for dog walking, even though they are slightly heavier than the average sneaker I think of it as a work out :-). These are ideal for dog walking they are slightly larger than fit but that allows my feet to get hot and swell during my walk and when the weather gets colder I can put on heavier socks. I walked through the grass at the park this morning and not wet feet. Its not idea for those that need shoes for over pronation but I have shoe inserts that stop this. Considering I wear out a pair of sneakers in 3 months of dog walking wear and tear I think these will last a lot longer.

Looks a lot cuter than many hiking shoes, but I didn't feel like the ankle area or ties offered much support at all. I felt the shoe was perhaps a little big lengthwise while also being too narrow. Not a good fit for my particular food. I also found them to be fairly hard and a lot less comfortable than my current hiking boots - Keens. I really wanted a different style than my current Keens that was more lightweight and these shoes hit both of those marks, but I just don't think they'll be as comfortable for long treks. If I had the budget to buy multiple hiking shoes, I'd probably keep them and give them a shot, but I can't justify keeping a shoe that is this uncomfortable when I try them on and may not improve upon longer wear. Oh, also want to add that they have amazing grip! Really impressed by that & the look of this shoe. Sorry they didn't work out for me.

Like the idea of this shoe but didn't like the design, the weight, or the squeaky noise from step.s
