I normally wear an 8.5 or a 9. I ordered these in size 9 which was perfect. These are very cute and comfortable right out of the box for me. The side zipper is a great feature for comfort. I saw these in white and HAD to have them in my closet even though I'm not sure yet how to style them. Somebody else said classic with a modern twist. Or modern with a classic twist! Either way it works for me! They are a must have!

Ran small, cute and expensive

Frye always makes a gorgeous boot and these demi boots were beautiful but I ordered my regular size 6 and could not even get my heel in the boot, obviously I couldn't zip up the boot also, they were so tight. Disappointed because they were beautiful but I had to send them back.

I wanted to love these boots. They are so pretty. But, toe box was too narrow for me and I had hoped they would’ve been more of a rounded toe not pointed. I’ll have to return these pretty boots.

Leather = top notch Comfort = no arch support and no room for insoles... but most of us suffer through heels so minor discomfort with boots is fine Narrow = BUT I do have a wide foot AND the leather gives with wear so it’s okay.

I really want to love this boot , it looks fabulous on . With that being said it is very heavy , each step feels a little like lifting weights (good calf workout) . Sizing is tricky I would advise trying both your usual size and half size down and see which feels more comfortable . I’m still undecided ??.

Very nice boot. Slightly narrow. More cushion than other frye boots. Will buy in more colors if they go on sale.

Frye products are terrific. However, boot stretched out a lot. This made it very loose, and sloppy!

Oh how I wanted to love these! But the heel slip was just to much. I knew it would be a long term problem so I'm having to return them. They are beautiful! and, for the most part, they felt true to size but I new after they were broken in that the heel slip that was already there would become worse. Bummer.

I love this style! I normally wear 7.5N and ordered a 7.5. They looked more narrow than many boots so I was hopeful they'd work. I do love the style but the heel slipped a bit (too big), but toe is a bit pointier than I like. I like to wiggle my toes a bit. Personally, I also don't like the burnished toe thing, though it's not as prominent as it has been in preceding years. Lastly, I find the color a little weird. Not really red, not cognac. Overall, I wanted something a bit darker and not quite as physically heavy. I love this general style and hope FRYE will incorporate some changes and bring the boot back next year! I do own a few other pairs of FRYEs, all lace-up to accommodate my narrow feet and ankles. I'd love to be have other (narrow) style options.

Great looking, top-quality boots, just what I wanted — but a bad fit. Other size 8 Frye boots fit me very well, and these were the right length. But they're much too narrow at the front of the foot, and so wide at the back that my heel slipped around with each step.

I have a big foot (size 11) and some shoes make my feet look HUGE. Unfortunately, these did that. They were also more of an orange than the red color I was hoping for. I love Frye's and will buy again, but these just did not work.

I have three other pairs of Frye boots. This is the first pair that was extremely narrow (and I don't have wide feet nor bunions). In addition, the ankle boot was too wide for my narrow ankles and looks really strange with tights.

Boots returned because: very narrow in the toe box leather too stiff didn't like the finish on the black multi painted - too sparkly for me

I wanted to like these. First, it was very difficult to get my foot into the boot with my high instep. Once in, I felt like they just looked like cheap pirate shoes. The length was a bit long, even considering I went up a half size based on other reviews. Even being long, and the boot felt narrow overall, which was surprising. I also could not get it zipped all the way, which actually looked okay but made me feel like I had huge cankles. My ankles are fairly muscular, but not large. From the side, they looked cute, but from the front- pirate. It is kind of hard to see in the photos, but they have a dip in the front at the top. Sad to send them back, I wanted to love them but it was not meant to be

These are solid and well made but fit strangely. I am a true size 9 and ordered the 9.5 based on other reviewers and figured I could fit an insole if they were too large. They did fit, but like other reviewers mentioned, were way to large in the heel so they slipped. They are very slim and you cannot tuck jeans into them. The zipper is cool and gives them an edge. I ordered the pewter/charcoal thinking they were dark gray with gunmetal hardware. In reality, they are lighter gray - a real pewter color- with gunmetal zips. They are about 3 shades lighter than the image on Zappos. Would be great for winter if they fit your foot. Sadly, they're heading back though as I am looking for a darker boot with more support.

the demi zip bootie "charcoal" is not black, as viewed in photos. It is a more silver/gray with some sheen to it. Boot fit snug through the ankle, as the design is a pretty slim look with the zipper.

These boots run long and very narrow. I ordered the white and these boots made my feet look huge (I'm a size 6.5/7). They are also stiff and would need time to work in. Returned.

High hopes for this to be a "red" boot, described as "red clay" when indeed they are orange clay...or a whiskey color. So so disappointed because the looks is awesome, they fit like a dream and are so very comfortable. True to size for Frye, I own a few pair and the 7.5 was perfect even though in most shoes I wear an 8. I've attached photos of the color of the boot, beware it's not even close to a red. I have a feeling this is why they are half off.

Couldn't even get my foot in the boot! Look super cute but couldn't even get on. Obviously super small and had to send back.

Very stiff leather and loose in the heal

I fell in love with these boots the moment I saw them. Did I wonder why they went on sale? YES. I've never seen a Frye boot on sale at any point in my life. Did that stop me from buying them? NO. Even when they arrived and were more silver and narrow than expected (for a point of reference, they were quickly dubbed "the disco booties") I still couldn't wait for their first day out. A few sashays around the house confirmed my suspicion that the narrowness of the boot was irritating but sacrificing comfort for fashion is nothng new. Today was the big day. I've had them on for 5 hours and approximately 2,000 steps and cannot recall when footwear has ever felt so sad/painful/unbearable. They should rename these the Frye Demi Zip Manglers. It'd be insane to not return them but that zipper! The perfect ankle fit! The hope for how they'll look when most of the silver wears off! I really wish they looked as pictured - and felt like shoes for a human. Think they'll have to go back since it's problematic when a pair of shoes make the rest of you immobile. Sorry friends, I'm bummed too...
