I usually where a 7.5, and the 38 was a bit too long. The shoe was a bit too wide across the middle of the foot and the heel, but the toe box was narrow and shallow, which is opposite of what I needed. Also, the quality of the leather didn’t seem to justify the price. Cute and comfy for the right foot, but a bit too expensive at full price.

Dansko size 40 **UPDATED REVIEW** I am 5'9 & 130lbs and a true size 9 in all shoes and 9.5 in sneakers. I Am a runner with runners feet/toes, so I love comfy shoes and boots that allow my feet/toes to relax! I was so undecided as to what size to get theses in, but I went for the 39 (US 8.5-9). I was for sure they would be too tight because I am never a size 8.5! At first they fit perfectly like all my other size 9s. Well there you go! The leather is soft. The toe box is round but slim. Very classic, feminine design. Pairs amazingly with tights, skirts, slim capris, and dresses. Wore them straight out the box. But after a few hours and an initial review they felt tight. And there it is! Because I knew in no way my runners feet can be comfortable in a 8.5 anything. Then, they began to rub on my heel and toes. Oh NO, off you go! So, I called Zappos immediately to process an exchange for the size 40 (US 9.5-10). Now here I am thinking no way will I be comfortable in a size 10 flopping around my feet. However these shoes are so Darling, and I am just willing to try again. Hey, a girl wants what a girl wants, correct?! Well, hum… The size 40 absolutely felt better. They felt loose and spacious with room for these running toes to splay. Hey! They do feel like a 9.5. So I will be keeping these. I would highly recommend these shoes. They are really Retro Gorgeous. However, choose the size range with the Bigger size range of YOUR true size, NOT THE SMALLER. Then Love it!

I hate to agree with all the other reviews but yes, it is true, I always wear a 39 and they were way too long for me. I tried a 38 but it was a little snug. These are beautiful shoes and I could tell they would be comfy if they fit properly. So sad to send them back.

This is one of the best pairs of shoes I have ever owned. I have very sensitive feet that blister easily and these were comfortable right out of the box. I have even worn them on lunch-break walks without a problem. I wish they came in more colors, I'd own them all.

Attractive shoe, but I have to return. I wear a 8.5 -- never a 9 and never an 8. The 39 in this shoe is too long for me.

Beautiful shoes! I've been searching for a pair of women's oxfords that not totally flat, no slick sole and are comfy - these fit the bill! A bit pricey for me, but very well made and I love Danskos. Sadly, I was in-between sizes and had to return both, but if they fit you, you will be very happy.

So sad these shoes didn't work out for me. I normally wear a 37 and they were too big. I returned them for a 36 still they were too big. Unfortunately they don't come in a 35. The search continues...

This is a cute, quality shoe and I like the contrast heel. However, I wear a size US 10.5M. Normally I wear a size 41 in Dansko and love their shoes. I tried the size 40 of this shoe - too small, like a size 10 - and size 41 - too large, like a size 11. So like other reviews said, this shoes really does run half a size larger than many Dansko shoes. It's a bummer, I really liked the look!

I love, love, love these shoes but...after four months I have just dropped them off at the cobbler for a repair. The heels of these shoes are already worn out. I wear these shoes two to three times per week at work, in an office, where I sit all day. I am so disappointed but hopefully after the repair, I can get a few good years out of them. If not for the unusual heel wear I would give them the maximum number of stars possible.

I love these shoes. I wear superfeet inserts in all of my shoes except these because they are so comfortable.

I was looking for a reliable and stylish shoe for work. I am on my feet, walking campuses (on concrete) quite often so I needed something that could support my heavy frame and handle the use. I also have lower back disc issues, so I needed something with just enough heel to keep my back curve correct. This shoe has hit all the marks above. Mobility and style, and the fit with dress or no-show socks is perfect for my size 7 feet. No blisters, no soreness anywhere.

Cute style and comfortable right out of the box. Not as much arch support as the Professional series, but great for when I need a break from heels. Love these shoes.

Pairs amazingly with tights, skirts, slim capris, and dresses. Wore them straight out the box for a 9hr shift, standing. I would highly recommend these. Choose the size in your true size range. Love it!

Love these shoes! They are so comfortable and stylish. Can wear with pants or dresses. Super cute with skinny jeans and no sock look.

I really like the overall look to this shoe. The slight heel helps alleviate some of my heel pain= good!

Super comfortable! The sole feels cushy and very supportive. The heel is rock solid -- no tendency to roll at all. I have a long history of plantar fascitis and I'm coming off an ankle injury, so I was looking for something with a little more ankle support than the Dansko 'Janes' that I usually wear (I love them, but they feel a bit "rolly" these days). My foot felt very secure and I actually found that the heel is the perfect height to relieve some of my ankle pain -- just enough elevation without being so high that I feel unstable. I found these true to size, most of my Danskos are a 39 and a 39 fit perfectly. For reference, my Janes are a size 40, that style runs a bit small, but no problems here. My only complaint is the color -- I would love to see a glossy dark brown, the saddle color is too light and I don't really wear black shoes very often. But I'll probably keep the black, as the pain relief is well worth it.

These shoes were VERY cute. The style was nice, the leather was supple. Unfortunately for me, they did not fit me properly. they were a bit big on my and aggravated my plantar fascitis. That said, Zappos took them back and were fabulous as always. I had to return them, but I would still recommend them. They may fit you better, and you'd have more luck.

This is not a very feminine shoe like I typically like, but I needed something low heel and comfy. They are cute with work slacks. Very comfy.

These shoes were excellent quality. Fully lined leather, soft quality outer leather, rubber sole for security walking on any surface or conditions. Sadly, for me, the arch support that I need and usually get from Dansko, was not there. I wouldn't say no support, but I wouldn't call it moderate either…somewhere in between. Returned them…thanks Zappos, for making it so easy doing business with you!

I liked the style, unfortunately I had to order one size up because of my wide feet. But the shoes were way too big (although the width was perfect). Also I was hoping in a little more cushioning and it’s not the case.

I love the way these shoes look, but...no size fit me. I am a true size 9 and I ordered the size 39, which was way too small and then the size 40 which was way too big!

These were a lot less funky than I expected them to be. Imagined a remake of the chunky shoes of the 70s and 90s, what I got was dowdy grandma shoes. Went back.

Very disappointed! These look like they were previously worn and broken in. They are also very large. I’ve worn danskos for many years and have always been size 40. These don’t work in that size. Has Dansko adjusted their sizing?

Since this shoe is lined in places with products other than leather, I didn't even try it on. I really like the style so am very disappointed.
