The size is accurate, but the cut of this means that you can feel the upper sticking into your ankle at the front. Some other reviewers mentioned this, but I assumed they meant on the side. It's very odd and not comfortable. It's too bad because they are nice otherwise, but I will have to return them. Maybe if you only wore these with heavy socks it might be fine, but it was annoying right away for me.

I need a zipper to get it on. Too hard for me to put on.

I love these booties but they're too big. Unfortunately, the 36 is too big and these shoes, like most Danskos, do not come in a 35. Boo hoo! The footbed is like a clog. In fact, they're exactly (and I mean exactly!) like my Sanita black oiled clogs, size 35, which I love.

I'm a true size 12 and these are too short for me. My toes go right to the end. i'd say they are perfect for a size 11 with socks, or an 11.5 without socks.

Big and clunky and very stiff. I was hoping for something that looked more like a boot, but these were not it!

Totally loved the look and comfort of this shoe but after 3 tries to get a pair without little screws poking into the heel cushion it was a no go. The last pair that I ordered looked as though someone had cut the screw heads off in an attempt to get rid of the pain. I can’t believe that no one else is reviewing about this problem. Definitely a production flaw!

I really liked the look and fit of these boots, but they were just way too hard to put on and take off. Looking for a replacement for my old Dansko lace-up oxfords that they don't make anymore but, sadly, these are not them.

Sorry these aren’t keepers, but they rubbed uncomfortably around my ankles. Decided to go with the Barbara style instead- not as stiff and has a zipper side.

I am working in regular Dansko clogs for 12 years now and standing 8-13 hrs daily. I wanted to try a different style. Ordered the Frankie and the Barbara booties. I did order 1 size down from the clogs. Frankie were comfortable, however, they were harder leather and cutting my front ankle while walking around the house. They might break in later, but I returned them for that much money, they have to be perfect. Luckily Dansko Barbara boots were and looked great also.

I usually order a size 38 in Dansko and these fit well with nice support, but the leather is very firm, so the breaking-in I'm used to did not seem like it would be a sure thing. These boots are made for standing, not walking, as the tops dug into my shin with each stride. So they were returned.

I have an old pair of Dansko boots sort of like this and they are wearing out. My dog chewed the top of the ankle and I had been repaired and still wear them probably three days a week and I work at a standup workstation and walk a lot. This boot has a funny arch bump that is very near the rear of the boot near your heel. Perhaps it would work itself out and feel better but I’m too nervous to keep them and take that risk.

I am a Dansko fanatic but these didn't work for me. I was looking for a slightly more upscale version of the classic Dansko clogs that I love -- but which, let's face it, are a bit frumpy. These had the look I wanted but the front edge of the upper "cuff" of the boot cut into my ankle/lower leg when I walked, and the leather was so stiff I didn't think it was a problem that would go away, even with wear. Sadly I am returning them.

I liked the style. The fit was, for me, about 1/2 size large. The arch was horrible, way too high, and was actually painful. I returned.

Handsome, and size was correct, 39 for me in Dansko, however something about the way my foot sat in the shoe was not quite right - pitched a bit forward and slid around. The quest continues for the perfect boot with Dansko quality comfort..

This is the first pair of Danskos that I have been able to wear. They typically don't fit me. I like to toe and overall shape. However, the arch support is EXTREME! If you need that much arch support then they will work for you. They hurt my arches due to the extreme amount of arch and they are super hard. So come the end of the day my feet are sore. They are very stiff and do soften a bit as you wear them but overall, not a shoe I could wear daily.

Firstly, I have to say I love shopping with Zappos excellent products policies and customer service. I tried the Frankie on last winter but wanted to wait for a deeper brown color. The color didn’t disappoint, however the bootie did. Last year they had a rubber rocker sole just like several of my beloved older models. Not this one, it looked like it but was hard plastic. Super disappointing as that type of sole has no support and puts too much stress and strain on the knee joints. On top of that it has no traction. I found the bootie overall stiff and tight. I traditionally fit a size 40, these fit ok but I have a really high arch and the front of the boot put pressure on my big toe and top of the foot. I don’t know why Dansko changed from great support to hard plastic soles. I’ve been wearing their boots and clogs since the late ‘90’s, and lately the fit and quality have been less than what I’ve i come to expect. I have yet to find a replacement, I’m on my feet all day as a massage therapist. The last dansko that fit beautifully was the Lee bootie and although plainer style than I was looking for, it’s been a really good overall.

This was exactly the Dansko boot I was looking for—the original bottom on a cute boot. I like the feeling of the original clogs, but I have tried the softer bottom (like the Maria boot), and while that type of bottom is comfortable at first, I find that once the padding flattens the shoe gets very uncomfortable. Anyway, as others have said, the Frankie boot was very clunky in person, and although I didn’t have any trouble slipping the boot on, it was very loose in the heel. Sadly, I returned. I would still like a bootie style, but I’m debating whether to sacrifice style for comfort. I may end up with just the regular closed-back clog style which is what I need for long work days on my feet.

I really wanted to love these, but sadly, they didn't love me back. Arch support felt great, but there was no ankle support -- the tops of the shoes ended right where my weak little ankles tend to collapse on me. I also found it hard to get them on because of how narrow the opening was. For reference, I wear a 6.5-7 and I ordered the 37. Basically, they weren't right for my weird feet and I couldn't justify the price, but I'm bummed about it because they're so cool!

Fit was perfect. Style is perfect. I have to return these because they take too much time to get on my foot. It is a struggle I don't want ….even for these great shoes.

These boots have the problem that the clogs do - I suspect there is variation so one would need to try on different boots in the same size to get ones that fit correctly. The ones I ordered are slightly too narrow and I prefer to not hurt my feet to break things in so I will be returning them. Disappointing.

I have to say I hated returning these shoes. They were true to size, good quality and I liked the bootie style. Unfortunately the boot hit at my ankle bone. I wore them in the house for a couple hours and it was so painful. I probably could of softened the leather with time but I was afraid if it didn't soften I would not be able to wear them.

These booties are lovely!!! Exactly what I hoped for from Dansko. Unfortunately my feet are wide and these are just too narrow for me. If they were available in wide,I would buy them for sure!

The right shoe was tighter than the left for some reason. I love Danskos, but these ones will not work for me.

I was looking for a boot that hits slightly higher on my leg. Otherwise these would have worked well.

I was super excited about these because I have tendonitis in my feet and ankles so I LIVE in my Dansko Professional clogs. I needed something more sturdy and waterproof for an international trip and these looked perfect. Unfortunately, the ankle is stiff and pressed in on my ankles and inner foot. I could tell these would be blister city right away, so back they go.
