I purchased these based on positive reviews and the classic style/look of the boots. Plus, I knew Danner were the high quality that I was looking for. No question these boots are very comfortable. Fit perfect on my feet with very little break in time. All this being said, I’ve had these boots for only three weeks and after one long 5-day backpacking trip in Yosemite National Park, the leather is shredded! I was really disappointed about this because I figured they could handle the challenging terrain I was crossing every day.

I love the style of the Vertigo boot by Danner. I do wear mine with orthotics. If you use orthotics with this boot, make sure you use a low-profile insole. I have a "high volume" foot with a high arch, and I thought an orthotic designed for boots would work. Turns out that these fit VERY snugly and are designed for a lower-volume foot, so I will need low-profile orthotics designed for shoes instead of a high-profile orthotic designed for boots. Overall, the Vertigo is very stylish, I love the way they look, and they provide excellent support and protection. The soles have great grip and stability on slick surfaces. Very good quality construction and a good value. Another winner from Danner.

Returned. Quality is definitely fashion, not function. The fit is fine, but they will not last a month in a Chicago winter.

I never wore Danner boots until this year. Now I have several pairs including three pairs of 917’s. These boots are well made, fit great, and look great. They are comfortable from day one. The 917’s are more of an urban hiker light trail type of boot than a rugged mountain trail boot. If you are looking for a boot in this category I highly recommend the Danner 917’s. They will quickly become favorites for around town and light hiking outings.

These boots exceeded my expectations. I got them to try on compared to some other very comfortable boots, and these win hands down. The ankle support is great and doesn't chafe. The comfort for all-day wear is fantastic. Genuinely thrilled with the purchase. First pair of nice boots. First pair of Danners.

Danner boots = love! I own a pair of similar Danner women boots that I have loved for a few years. I wear them a lot and they still look new. I bought these boots in the same style (different color) as a gift for my husband and he is an equal fan of them. Cannot go wrong with Danner! True to size or order 1/2 size up if you will wear with thick socks.

Slightly wider than other Danner products that I wear in a 9D. It has a good sole for a fashion boot. A decent city boot, not a hiking boot. It does have actual boot lacing, so replacing the long flat sneaker laces with round hiking boot laces and it will be much more comfortable.

This is my third Danner boot/shoe and these are extremely narrow where your toes meet your foot. So narrow I couldn’t even walk in them.

These boots arrived and look like they have been worn already. Scuff marks on the toe of boots. They were in. Arabism box. They were also missing green shoelaces. I’m returning these used boots.
