Better than v1.0...a little heavier (about half ounce)...wider forefoot (need to get half size smaller than v1.0)...much improved upper and tongue...love the heal loop (stepped all over the heal when putting on v1.0). All in all very pleased but wish I got it a half size smaller than the v1.0. As far as my profile goes: run about 35 to 45 miles per week...mostly roads...fair pace...6 foot...180lbs...been in Hohas for awhile...Clifton, Clayton, and Tracer...for me, I prefer the Tracer and hope Hoka does not continue to add weight with each version...light weight with low lift and some pad are big attractions for me

I like wearing the Clifton 4 and Challenger ATR 3. The Tracer 2 is lighter and still has some cushioning. I plan to use them only for speed work and race day. The only issue is the shoelaces were way too long. I replaced them with Lock Laces.

I've ran most of the Hoka shoes and want to run in a lighter shoe for my next marathon. I ran in the Speed Instinct 2 on my 19 mile long run this morning and liked the fit of the upper and the cushion of the sole. The sole doesn't engulf my feet with way the Clifton or Bondi does but it's a nice trade off vs. weight.

Great shoes - well made, light, breathable, etc A key differentiating feature in my opinion is fairly straight build, meaning that top, middle, and rear of the shoe are more or less aligned with one another. If your mid-foot is wide, that's great. Otherwise, probably not.

This is my second pair of Tracer 2's. I had the Tracer 1 before. I like both the Tracer and Tracer 2. The fit is great, light weight, plenty of room in the toe box (the 2 seems to have a little more room), snug where it needs to be. Only two complaints. They do wear quicker than they should. Why do all the other Hoka shoes have several color options and the Tracer 2 has been stuck with only one color since it came out? While I love the shoe I am tired of the same color for two pair in a row. I said I'd buy the shoe again. Not sure I will if they do not give some color options.

I've only got a dozen miles in these shoes but feel pretty good so far. Hopefully they hold up for more than one season.

It has a soft landing and spongy soul compared to the Brooks Levitate which is my other running shoe.

Great mid-performer. Moderate ride, good style but yellow color is lemon/lime than electric yellow

This update to the Tracer has a much more foot-like shape, especially in the forefoot. It is less snug than the original Tracer and it remains to be seen if that's an issue or a plus. For my first run in them I wore a thicker sock than normal. I wonder if I could even go down a half size. The ride feels softer, but maybe that's because my original Tracers have 900+ miles on them. For size 10 I have the originals weighing in at 7.35 oz and the Tracer 2 comes in at 8.2 oz. So far I'm happy with how they perform.

Purchased, used for a few miles, shoe did not feel satisfactory, actually made feet hurt. Experience suggests that I purchase any athletic footwear in person and actually try shoe to assess how it initially feels. and determine purchase or not. Consequentially, I needed to return the shoe.

I had trouble finding the right size for my foot. A size 11 was too roomy for my foot and a 10.5 was a little snug for my foot. I don't wear wide shoes in other brands, but this narrow feel in the toe box is the very reason I also don't run in Nike shoes as they tend to be narrow in the toe box. I don't look for cushion in a racing shoe, so that doesn't bother me that this is not as cushy as other Hoka One One shoes, but I am disappointed that it does not feel as responsive as other shoes I have. This is the first Hoka One One shoe I have tried and I was looking for a shoe I would use for speed work and races, but I prefer a racing flat of another brand to this shoe. I am not ready to write off Hoka One One as a brand, I am just not sold on the Tracer 2 as a legitimate racing shoe.

If the shoe I originally wanted wasn't sold out I would never of bought these. I have a narrow foot so these are a bit sloppy for me. Love the light weight simple road runner. These shoes are fun.

Was looking for a light, plush, flexible shoe to train and race in. It was certainly light, but it felt stiff and unresponsive. It didn't fit me right, either. I wound up returning the shoes.

So I bought these because I needed a light weight speed shoe that wasn't completely barefoot feel , this shoe delivered as far as weight and cushion combinations ! Excellent even , only reasons I couldn't give it 5 stars is for one the shoe felt a bit big , it didn't really wrap my foot the way I had hoped , I was afraid to send it in for another pair since I usually wear the size I ordered , and there's is very little tread on the sole making me feel like the life on these shoes will be short lived .

I was searching for a show that had a wide toe box but also a little more cushion than the Altra Solstice I was running with. I gave the tracer 2 a try, but after a few runs had to send it back. The shoe was very tight in my forefoot. I had to stop multiple times during my runs to give my foot a break. I have never had much of an issue breaking in a shoe, but this one was painful. It may work for you, but it didn't work for me.

As a long term runner I have never had a shoe that constantly seemed to be hitting the ground. Granted I leg lift isn't great, but having run competitively for some 5 years I have never experienced a shoe that continuously was scuffing on the ground. (Love my Carbon X however)

These shoes did not hold up more than a dozen miles before they felt cheap and uncomfortable. Most definitely not worth the price. Rather disappointed

These shoes are NARROW. Had to get a replacement for the Constant 2 since they discontinued that model, the Hoka chart on their web site says the Tracer is a "cushion" and "stability" shoe , which I need. Took these for a 3 mile run and got shin splints, which I haven't had for 15 years, when I was wearing other brand name shoes. You can feel every pebble of the road through the thim sole.

Fit wasn't correct for me so I returned the product for a different model several weeks ago and have not heard anything back about shipping the replacement :((

Be careful here. These shoes are not supportive and lack the cushioning Hoka has built their brand on. They cut weight on the shoe by thinning out the sole. After less than 60 miles I was already into the White part of the sole and had worn the black surface out. These would be done before 100 miles if I kept them. Couldn't be more unhappy with these. Strongly recommend you stay with the ones you've gotten used to and don't buy these.

The sizing is totally different than the Tracer 1. I wear a size 11 1/2 in all Clifton and the Bondi, but had to size up to a 12 for the Tracer 1. I tried the Tracer 2 in a size 12 and my feet were swimming in them. Very wide and too long as well. Then tried my normal size 11 1/2 and once again the Tracer 2 was too wide and a bit too long. The Tracer 2 finally felt comfortable and snug in a size 11, however my toes are very close to the front of the shoe. Due to the sizing problem, I believe that the midsole feel is quite different from the Tracer 1 as well. I kind of feel uncomfortable pressure under the balls of my feet. Beware, the Tracer 2 is NOT the same shoe as the Tracer 1.
