I purchased this product specifically for long distance training; specifically runs over 10 miles up to marathon distance. I really like the cushioning and feel of this shoe. The toe box might be a smidge narrow, as i developed a blister on the inside aspect of my big toe, but since then all is well. I would definitely buy again.

I run 3 to 4 times a week with the Clifton 4's. I also wear them to the mall, and wear them to work on Fridays for casual day. They are comfortable, and sturdy.

I have bad knees and wanted a shoe that had good cushioning for mainly walking. I intended on buying another brand but tried my Clifton 4's on in the store. They were more comfortable with less pounding on the pavement than the others so I bought them. I did buy a 1/2 size larger and they fit perfect. I've had them 3 weeks now and the knee pain has gone away. The modified rocker and soft sole are the reason. I don't think I'll buy any other brand again.

I wear a size 10 Nike Free and a size 10 Hoka fits well. There is only SLIGHTLY more room in length. Not enough for me to need a 9.5. Take it for what it's worth. Love the shoes.

This running shoe is absolutely fabulous. The design is awesome, has a unique feel, and is very comfortable. For the size I don't think they weigh much at all. I felt like the shoe kept springing me forward while I was running. Definitely will be sticking with Hoka for a while.

I love these. I needed better running shoes because of some mild plantar fasciitis that flared up. I chose these and have been able to run without any issues at all. I will say that I did get some discomfort at first in my achilles and calf when I walk around in these. I decided to strictly use these just for running. I think the heel drop might be a little too much to be a walking around shoe. I very much like the design and have gotten compliments on it.

I do a lot of research on shoes and this is my fifth different running shoe this year. I've struggled searching for the perfect marathons shoe for me. I'm over 100 miles into my new Hoka One One Clifton 4s and I absolutely love them. I think I've found the shoe I'm going to wear during my first full marathon in San Antonio this December.

I have horrible feet and knees and have been searching for a shoe that provides a comfortable, cushioned ride. The Clifton 4s (and predecessor Clifton 3s) are light years ahead of other shoes on this front.

I heard about Hoka's through a friend who observed how many marathon/ultra runners wore them. I had struggled with nagging leg injuries in my last marathon so I thought I'd give em a try. Wow! I honestly didn't know how much difference a shoe could make. I had always been fitted with good quality running shoes but the Clifton 4s are in a class all by themselves. Light, comfortable, cushy but at the same time responsive. I run crazy fast in them and my legs still feel fresh. Love em!

I purchased the Clifton 4 and the discounted Clifton 3 around the same time. On the Clifton 3 I had to get a size 11 to fit the width of my foot. Since the Clifton 4 now comes in a wide I got that shoe in a 10.5. It is noted that the wide is just a little bid wider which is good because I never really though of myself as having wide feet. It is the only shoe I have ever got in a wide bit for the Clifton 4 it fits perfect. If your other Hoka shoes fit snugly and you are like me and you really don't consider yourself to have wide feet just get the wide in the Clifton and it will fit. Let's compare the Clifton 3 vs the 4. First of all, my comparison is for walking only as I am not a runner. I just want cushy comfortable shoes. So I am comparing brand new 3's and 4's. For walkers the 4 is hands down more cushy and comfortable than the 3. Both have good cushion in the heel but the 4 has better cushion throughout the entire length of the sole. The 4 has better cushion in the mid foot area and also more cushion down by the toes. The 4 also molds to the foot better where the 3 feels like it squeezes more to the foot so the sides and upper are better on the 4. I paid full price for the 4's and got the previous model 3's discounted. Let me tell you it is worth the extra money to have the 4's.

.The "original" Clifton was remarkably comfortable. Then since it was not broken, Hoka One One decided to "fix it" (think "New Coke" if you are old enough to recall that fail) via the Clifton 2 (oops) and the Clifton 3 (closer). The Clifton 4 got it right!!! As comfortable as the the original, seemingly better/sturdier constructed, better colors ... Hoka One One finally nailed it. Thanks folks.

I am a long time Nike shoe person looking for a better running shoe. Nike shoes fore me are starting to get a little bit narrow for me. And wanted to get something that was a bit more comfortable in the toe box and a bit more cushioning. So these will be my first pair of hokas and will not be my last. The fist thing I said after trying these shoes on for the fist time was oh my god the cushioning. These are probably the most cushioned shoes I have ever worn in my life. Plus they are wide enough for my toes unlike my nike's. I Like nike's zoom air but I just love the cushioning in these shoes hand down. I will definitely be buying a second pair of these to back up my first ones in a few short weeks. You can call me a hoka convert.

I use these shoes for walking daily and out and about. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I wear a 12 wide and are true to fit for my feet. I have two pair of Arahi 12 wide which I have enjoyed wearing but for me the Clifton 4 feels and looks better. Looking forward to purchasing another pair in the near future.

I ran and raced in the Clifton 3 and while the Clifton 4 does not feel like the Clifton 3, the proof in the running and racing. The Clifton 4 is not a spoongey feeling, but running in them and racing a half last week, I can say they are amazing, My legs are not tired and my knees and Achilles tendon are not sore. Regarding the negative comments, either they haven't run in them enough or they do need an entirely different shoe. I definitely recommend the Clifton 4.

I have been running the NYC City Marathon since 2005. I first heard of Hoka from the Ultramarathoner runners I knew via social media. Since then I have ran and trained in alot of shoes. The Clifton 1 is my favorite and I still kept the three pairs I purchased and even still run in them. I have trained in the 2 and 3. I didn't care for the three. I just used the Clifton 4 on a 8 mile run yesterday and then today on a 20 miler. WHAT I LIKE: the new upper, the outsole material-this material used seems less marshmellowy than other versions but this is not a bad thing. It has a great peppy cushioned ride and with the meta rocker it suits my heel toe strike off. Even though I am a overpronator this will always be my choice of shoe for long training runs and for the 2017 NYC Marathon. I am not a fast marathoner I can hold down a 11 to 12 minute mile pace for that distance. Durability-Like I said I put alot of mileage on my other Hokas, wit this new outsole material should give it more of a life span than versions 1-3. WHAT I DON'T LIKE-the narrow toe box. That being said I usually loosen up the shoe laces and stretch out the middle section where the tongue is and that helps. To date I have never had any toe issues with the shoe. *As far as the weight and it being heavier I really can't tell that it comes in near 12 oz. I am a size 12.5 so no matter what my shoes will always have more material to them. I guest the biggest comment I can make is that I love it when a shoe disappears over a long run and your locked in on a nice consistent conversational pace with a shoe. Bravo Hoka, Bravo! All the Best! Time to Fly @ 2017 NYC Marathon Be Well my fellow runners, Michael LaMorte : )

Tried on the Clifton 4, and seemed a bit off at the start, but love the technology, the feel. And, i moved from really ugly Brooks to quite good looking Cliftons.
