Used this bag for a 2 1/2 day trip to Lake Geneva. It worked really well. Both my wife and I were able to comfortably fit both of our belongings. Love that straps secure on the outside of the bag so that we don't need be too worried about any zippers coming open

This is a great backpack for traveling, camping, or sporting events. There are a lot of pockets that are specially designed for your phones, laptop, work clothes, etc. It is larger than I thought it would be, but a great bag.

I use this pack for traveling. I love all the pockets, because each one of them has a specific purpose. For instance, I can put my shoes in one pocket, my dirty laundry in another, and have it nowhere near my toothbrush! The inside strap is awesome to squish my clothes together, so I can create even more space. I don't have a 17" computer, but it would hold it, which is nuts. There is even a section for my iPad. Every time I think I found all the pockets, I find another and am pleasantly surprised and delighted. I can also stow away the backpack straps when I want to use it as a duffle. The ripstop fabric feels really strong, and I can also wipe it down really easily if it gets dirty, which is inevitable, considering where I travel to. I used to be an avid Timbuk2 Wingman user, but am happy with the switch to the Wander Pack. It's also narrower than the Wingman, which is great for me.

This by far is my favorite bag that I have ever owned. I use it all the time for weekend getaways. It fits everything I need perfectly. Perfect travel bag.

Love this travel pack! Carries a ton of stuff yet still fits easily into the overhead bin or under the seat in front if necessary. Specific compartments for all my key travel items including laptop/tablet, phone, clothes, glasses, laundry, shoes et al. VERY comfortable as a pack- straps are just the right length and the pack has a nice padding/weight balance. Have used this already for both weekend and 7-day plus trips and it passed both with flying colors.

This bag is big enough for all my travel items to fit in yet portable enough to carry on my back. I like the fact that there are straps on all sides of the pack to allow me to quickly pull from the airplane overhead bin or carry as a duffel

I've been using this traveling pack for a couple of months now. The size is perfect for short and long travel - I've used it for a 3 day and 10 day trip for both personal and business. The shoulder straps are comfy and the bag material feels strong. The "shoe garage" is great for dirty clothes or toiletries. There is a nice cell phone pocket that's great to ditch your phone, wallet keys etc while in the TSA line.

The only complaint I have are the clips that connect the straps to the backpack. They haven't come undone yet, but I am constantly worried about it.. (Maybe just me though) Aside from that small issue, bag is great. I got mine a month ago and have gotten many compliments. Some friends and family keep offering to buy it off me full price or want one for X-Mas.. Took a 4 day trip to Santa Barbara, CA with just this bag and was more than enough! Very pleased with this purchase!!

I have not tried this out on a trip yet but I think it will be great. I like all the separate compartments. I will comment further once I have tested it out but so far I am very happy with my purchase.

Overall I am very happy with this bag. It has more storage pockets that I expected, which is perfect for my use. The only gripe I have is that the sternum straps fell of spontaneously sometime during the first 2-3 times I wore the backpack. Also, the clip holding the right backpack strap tends to get caught on things and spontaneously fall off. Not a huge deal as it's easy enough to slide back on, but I expected a little more thought from Timbuk2. The bag holds tons of gear and keeps everything separated, I just hope I dont regret losing the sternum straps.

I'm a light packer, so I've used this as my sole bag for 7-10 international and domestic trips (it's on the edge of acceptable cabin sized for some airlines, but I haven't had issues... yet). It's great! Plenty of space for 1-2 pairs of shoes, clothes, and whatever else I might need. I got the smaller size and am glad I did: when fully packed, it's a bit uncomfortable to carry for long periods of time. Had I gotten the larger one, I would likely have stuffed it and ended up miserable trying to lug everything around! My major complaint is with the 'laptop pocket.' There are a bunch of weird little slip pockets inside that compartment which are great in theory, but make it nearly impossibly to slide a laptop/tablet/notebook in and out easily. They get stuck on the little interior pockets and it's a nightmare trying to maneuver them into the right place so they'll fit. The shoe compartment is also weirdly small, but I've been able to work around that. Great bag overall; I've been recommending it to everyone I know!

It's great for travelling with everything, I like the space and the wet pocket for shoes. By only quam is that it can get very heavy and needs a waist strap so it doesn't hurt my back. I had to carry it for a day and my back hurt all day. Otherwise great bag, well thought out.

I'm a field researcher that often works overseas in rural areas, and I also do quite a bit of international travel for work to more urban areas. I needed a versatile carry-on for longer trips (a few weeks or so) when I don't have any bulky equipment and am just carrying the basics. This bag has been great for that purpose. It has a near-perfect balance of features for field travel (not too flashy, completely separate compartment for dirty/wet/smelly items, no wheels, and a shape that makes it easy to throw on my back and go) and urban/business travel (not too sporty, professional, a laptop compartment that's spacious enough to fit and protect documents/folders, and plenty of strategically-placed pockets to facilitate quickly getting through an airport). I'm a petite (5'1") female, and I haven't had any issues with the pack's size/weight distribution. The structure is such that my contents don't shift much, making it much more usable than the Navigator duffel, which I've previously used. The straps are also comfortable. This bag lacks two features that would have made it perfect for me. Although the material seems to be water resistant, the bag most certainly isn't waterproof. I also would love to have a shoulder strap so that I could carry the bag as a duffel. Sometimes it rains, and sometimes I need to use my back for other things. That said, it's still my favorite bag to travel with because of how convenient and functional I've found it to be.

I like it a lot, with a few improvements it can be the king of the hill. It fits all my necessities for an entire week including warm cloths & computer. Very comfortable to live with thanks to great pocket organization and big opening to a large main space. Comfortable to use as a backpack for short/medium distances. Over all, its a great pack ; can't wait to take it to a long trip to S America/SE Asia. If you pack smartly its up for the task. points to improve: 1. The smallest pocket in front barely fits a small wallet phone and keys. 2. No waist straps. 3. No daisy chain to clap things on the outside.

Excellent alternative to a traditional duffel. Comfortable to carry, holds a ton of stuff (think: long weekend urban jaunts), and looks great - I'm really into Timbuk2's newer aesthetic. Bonus laptop pocket is clutch.

Love the bag had the right amount of pockets for me. Just not enough organized pockets. Disappointed with the laptop compartment not water resistant. Got rained on yesterday and it was wet on top and where my laptop was placed. Main compartment was dry. Wish the other two had the same lining.

Well designed weather resistant bag. Lots of space for gear and expandable, which is nice when you pick up new items while traveling. Like the pockets and extra storage areas so you can separate your stuff. Durable and should last for many years and many trips.

I am concerned that the way that backpack straps are connected, it may be easy to break!

It has a great amount of room to fit all your needs.Easy to get around with it on your back. The pockets could have been placed better. Could have put pockets on the side for the things you need to get to the fastest (wallet, cell phone, iPod etc.) Other than that it's a great backpack/bag for everyday use and everything in between.

This bag seems great off the shelf. Lots of pocket options, seemed to check all my boxes. I read lots of reviews, seemed like people biggest concerns were that the bag wouldn't be ideal for carrying long distances (no hip harness, and a mediocre chest strap). For me, this didn't matter as this is primarily a plane -> car -> cabin type of bag for me. The bag is comfortable on my shoulders and I have had no issues with these things. In terms of the general style, I am quite happy. It's slick, while retaining a lot of functionality and packing options. My concerns are more in the quality of the bags, specifically the zippers. Almost every zipper on the bag catches. A lot. To the point where I'm convinced I'm going to tear one open. Many of the zippers curve around edges of the bag (the worst are the top clamshell pocket and laptop pocket for this). It almost appears as though there is a quality control issue here, as the fabric pulls the zippers in a non straight line, and often when the bag is packed I am unable to pass the zipper around the corners. This is frustrating because it feels as though the quality isn't there, and I am worried the zippers will break. Otherwise, I am happy with the overall design of the bag. But I do not feel like the quality is there.

Was looking for a carry-on that would support a multi-week motorcycle trip overseas. the bag looks great, but in the end I felt it was a bit bulky and heavy for my purpose. Backpack straps are definitely for short term wear, and I felt they wouldn't be supportive enough to wear for 4-8hrs

Big pack with great sidezippers for fitting a lot of stuff. It can't really be used as a daypack but its great for carrying a lot of stuff on an airplane or train.

I would love to see a video review of this bag. How does it work? What's it all about? How do the zippered compartments work?

How in the world are you supposed to carry a 40-liter backpack without stabilizing cross-straps or any load-balancing straps or belt? Carry this as a duffel bag; your back will be glad you did!

Prior to purchasing this, I had Timbuk2 messenger which is absolutely bombproof. I've used it for over 10 years and it looks pretty much new. Big fan of the brand. I bought this 4 weeks ago and after light daily use, the material is developing holes where it naturally creases. The straps are poorly designed and often come undone. I would be ok with the straps coming undone, as the style and functionality of the bag are awesome, but I can't see this lasting the year before it falls apart.
