My first pair were 4 1/2 star, the outer leather was standard smooth, which could be refreshed. This pair is a soft brown leather with incidental suede and clothe tongue to better collect and retain dirt. I've quit using Walking store insoles [price]. For boot I've started using NB supportive motion control arch cushioned {age}. The Vibram sole on these boots is improved, a harder interior section, that will definitely last longer. See photo. It's a terrific mid-hi, when cared for and modified they will last for years. The last pair gave me about 5 years, the pair before that only 4 however these days I never hike more then 5 or 6oo miles a season. I'm going to see, I think they will last 7 or 8 with the new sole design. No B. If it came with my insole it'd be 5 star. Overall it's still 4+. P.S. I don't hike rock.

Comfy and supportive, but felt a little too casual. I think this is an excellent boot, but I worded that the footbed was a little too unsteady for a hike.

I hike trails in mud dirt& snow. I'm a wilderness ranger and wanted something lighter than my mountain boots for quick in and outs carrying light loads and scouting trails. These give me better traction than the previous model, but seem to lack some stability and foot protection from sharp rocks. I still prefer my old ones even though the soles are getting slick.

Love these boots. Teva makes a great product and after hiking in them and walking through a low creek they are water proof. I don't know about sustained periods of time submerged but on a normal hike you're gold. As far as fit and style go they are true to size and look great out and on the trail. They are a good looking boot! As is to be expected by Teva. One thing I have noticed is that the hooks for the laces are not rounded and snag your socks! I buy wool hiking socks (like Smartwool or Icebreaker) and wear them for anything and everything! They aren't cheap but I prefer the quality. The hooks on these shoes have squared edges and will hook and make pulls in your socks! They did it the first time I wore them to a pair of brand new socks and I can feel them hook my socks if I sit and cross or uncross my legs and can feel them occasionally hooking my inner pant leg as I am walking or making a technical movement. Other than that they are lovely!

I wore a pair of e-vent Riva all leather boots for years. But when the wore out, I found that Teva wasn't making them anymore. They were the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever had so of course it was very disappointing. I was happy to find that a 3/4 height hiking boot has returned to the Teva lineup. These aren't quite as nice as my previous pair, but they are lightweight and appear to be well-made. The soles are similar to my old boots, with great traction.

The front of the heel catches on lips of stairs going down, and the heel feels oddly slippery on surfaces. I think the heel needs to be redesigned.

Boots did not turn out to be waterproof and had to hike for hours in cold wet boots. Luckily my wool socks helped keep my toes somewhat warm. I didn't submerge the boots, just stepping in small puddles along the trail and it still was too much to keep the boots dry unfortunately. They'll be going back. I do love the look of these and they were pretty comfortable (other than being wet). Disappointed they did not work out as intended.

Years ago I had a pair of Teva Rivas which were one of the best pair of boots I ever owned. This new model looked very close but the quality wasn't the same. The big problem was that I ordered the same size, 11, that I had before. The new style was too big. I wanted to exchange for a 10.5 but they were out of stock. After I returned them, I wasn't refunded the full amount because they deducted shipping since they were not regular price when purchased.. Not happy.

Like other Teva products from this last year, not durable, started to fall apart at seams and sole delaminates. Very disappointing. Guess I am going to go return to Merrell as brand of choice.

I own a pair of your boots that are vegan. The need to be replaced. Unfortunately this new style is not vegan. I am very disappointed in Teva. I hope you bring back vegan boots in the near future.

this boot digs into the front of my ankle, making walking intolerable I admit it's been since October that I bought these, but they have a one year return policy. TEVA tells me these boots are not returnable The only boot that works for me is s/n 1016314. a great boot not made anymore

I bought the older version of this boot a while ago in a size 13 & they fit great. The new version was way too big in 13 and way too small in 12. A 12.5 might fit right but they dont make that size. Frustrating...had to return for store credit.
