Make sure you bup one size up from what you normally wear. Other than that this is a very comfortable pair of boots. I use them for snow removal and my feet stay nice and dry.

These sure are nice looking boots. Really wanted North Face. But, I thought because these were Chilkat version III they would have all the kinks worked out. Wrong. You can't lace the top two laces because the second from the top - the laces fall out of the hooks waaaayy to easily. And the very top hooks are so tight, you will never be able to get the laces in them. I fuddled with these for about 15 minutes, even grabbed a screwdriver then gave up. It should be this hard. Come on North Face - get your act together. These are going back.

Very warm but bulky & heavy. I have no complain with being bulky or heavy because winter boots are built like that. The main complain I have is the poor quality, bought my boots probably less than 5 years ago & only used few times every winter since I bought it BUT this winter season when I first use it the rubber above the sole broke in one of the boots (see attached pix). VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

So these boots don't have the most appealing look but that's not why you buy them. First time I put them on, they felt tight due to all of the thermal cushion around ankle. After one hike I realized how awesome these boots are! They relaxed around the ankle, but still gave exceptional support and comfort and warmth! These are definitely for the snow or cold conditions. They keep your feet warm in below freezing temps with only thin cotton socks (no more need for the extra thick wool or thermal socks! They are waterproof, which is a lifesaver during these extreme hikes! Just so you know better, I was using these to hike a 14er (Mt Quandary) and it's wet in parts below tree line, it's frigid cold near the summit, and it's begging you to twist your ankle when you're using your crampons or snow shoes. I had no problems getting up that mountain with these boots! And if you know your hiking boots, you know you need good "braking" tread on the soles. I've never owned a boot with such good traction! Seriously! I didn't have my crampons or snowshoes on coming down the mountain and I had nearly as good of traction as my girlfriend did, and she was wearing crampons the whole time! I've owned quite a few pairs of hiking boots and by far these had the best brakes I've ever used! Truly unbelievable! Best hiking boot I've ever owned! I will get the summer version of these exact boots, come summer time!

Got these as a Christmas gift for my husband! He loves them and can’t wait to get out in the snow to use them. Great boots!

After enduring sub-zero temps and deep snow in complete warmth and comfort once again I was compelled to review these North Face boots. These are simply the best winter boots I have ever owned (in my 50s now). The inner lining provides a snug fit that's true to size. They are solidly built, keep my feet dry and warm no matter how long I am outdoors and they provide great traction. Heartily recommended.

Great comfortable snow shoe, was looking for something that would hold up to miles of walking and the winter weather of NYC. So far so good!

I am rarely excited about footwear, let alone boots, but I absolutely adore these boots. I walk to work year-round and knowing that I can arrive on any wintry day with my feet warm and dry, all the while not feeling like I am dragging two sacks of potatoes around my feet, is such a nice thing. I also walk 2.5 - 5 miles daily, and while wearing these on those walks is not quite as nice as my lightweight running shoes, they are about as good as it gets in the winter boot department.

I could not put my foot all the way into the left 12.5 sized boot as the foot pad had been turned under about 2 inches from the end of the toe and I could not move it back into position. In addition, I do not think one could ever change the shoe laces on this boot because the top keeper is just a slit with very little room to accommodate any but the smallest-capped shoelace.

I've hardly worn these boots and the rubber has already cracked. I have emailed North Face twice about warranty repairs and no one has responded.

Had original Chilkats and also Chilkat ii. Both pairs broke apart and cracked on the lower "rubber" part of boot.Only used them a hand full of times but they only lasted less then two years! To bad because I obviously liked the boot.

The quality of this boot totally fulfilled my expectations. I had an older pair of Northface boots that I finally had to retire. I was a bit nervous to order replacements on-line. But I am extremely happy with this purchase and the service getting them shipped to me in a timely manner.

I've used north face boots while snowmobiling for the last 8 years and they are just as warm and durable as actual sled boots for 1/3 the costs. Highly recommend!

This boots are warm and comfortable. Width marked M but real width is more. Thermal insulation is good. Thank's Zappos for your service - it's convenience.
