Loved the look, ruggedenss, and warmth of the boot -- especially in the gray/black combo. However the leather upper on the left boot pinched me above the ankle, could not find the right fit (7 too small and 8 too big), and no arch support (could have dealt with the latter if there weren't the former
two issues.

I purchased these while my friend purchased them in the nylon version in the same size. These were much wider and less flattering. Very warm but very wide, could easily be a men's boot.

Boots look nice, but do not keep the feet warm. Pretty disappointed overall. Had them for 2 years and can't be outside for more than 10 minutes with them. Temp sits single digits to 30F

I used your fit guide and rather than sizing down I ordered exact size as I like to wear heavy socks. My foot measurement was 11 so based on your guide I should have ordered 10.5. I ordered 11 and really wished I had ordered a 11.5. The 11 works with athletic socks but now way would they fit with heavy socks. I have yet to wear them as our winter is really mild.

Stunned with the quality of these boots. I have only ever gotten sorel shoes living in the Midwest and these feel cheap, sound cheap and are quite uncomfortable. The way the shoe is designed dogs into my Achilles and make it really tough to walk longer distances.

Ordered online, received boots promptly. Sorel advises sizing down since boots are cut large. I stayed with my normal boot size and the Sorel's were tight. I could only wear them with light socks, and they were tight across the top of the arch. Returned - which was fairly easy - and ordered a half size larger. Couldn't just exchange them. Had to return one and order the second size. Replacements showed up and fit worse. Felt liner is much thinner than it used to be, and on the boots I got the felt wouldn't even meet at the top of my arch or my ankle. That means in cold only my sock and the leather tongue protect my foot from the outside temp's. Arch of boot was also tight where the tongue is sewn in. Can't comment on durability. Poor fitting on two pair indicate a quality control problem. If you're going to buy these, go into a store and try them on first. When I called to return the second pair Sorel said there was a return fee. Customer service did agree to waive the fee when I talked with them some more about why I was returning the boots. Pity. I used to lover Sorel's.

I bought the Caribou in gray about 9 years ago and only have worn them maybe 10 times. I live in Minnesota, so I thought these would be great to wear during the winter. The reason I don't use them as often as I would love to, is because they are too dang difficult to get on and off my feet. The felt liner is snug, yes I understand that, but the problem is the actual boot itself. The opening is too small and the material is too stiff. It almost feels as if I might break my ankles trying to get the boots onto my feet. Once I do, they are heavy and clunky, which is great for slushy ice walks. But if you plan to be driving or doing a lot of walking, maybe try something else. I really wished these would have worked out in my favor, but I'll be searching for something more easy to wear.
Disappointed I,

Husband bought this boot round a year ago, works outside shoveling and plowing, and after just a few months of wear, the sole of one boot separated from the boot and he had to have it repaired. Now with less than a month of shoveling again, he has to have the OTHER boots sole reattached to the boot!
Back in the day, we NEVER had issues with our Sorels, never needing repair, and wearing them for YEARS; I am SO disappointed in Sorel current quality, and will not purchase ever again...

Boots are narrow around the toes, clunky and not feminine at all. Look like men's boots. Returned.

I'm surprised by the general consensus that these boots are true to size. Also surprised that the website instructs you to order your normal size. If you click on sizing it says to size down if you're inbetween sizes, which i would not consider the case for me. I wear 12 or 13s. I got these in 12s and they are too big. Other than the size the boots seem great. 2 stars for bad sizing and bad sizing instructions on the site.

To be totally honest, I bought these in hopes that they would be the warmest boot that I have ever worn. I am sorry to report that my feet have in fact been cold in these boots multiple times.

I just replaced my 25 yr old Sorels... I am soo disappointed with my new Sorels... the liners in the new ones are so flimsy, not even close to being as thick & warm as my old liners. Smh... everything made nowadays is cheap crap.

I bought these at the end of last season, and just wore them on a very cold and windy day. My feet are freezing, and the temps were nowhere near the "-40" they advertise--more like 15-degree wind chill. I wear thick wool socks; the rubber just isn't insulated at all. It's like going out in rain boots, for goodness' sake! I had Sorels that lasted me over 20 years, but these are another quality altogether, what a shame. The previous boots weren't even high-end, like these are, but Sorel doesn't sell that style anymore. The rubber was different; this really is rain-boot rubber.

I love these boots, and having known and worn Sorels when we could afford them, they were so warm. I thought for the cost they would be warm. My feet are cold after a few minutes outside. Even with 2 pairs of warm socks. Rather unfortunate. I'm not certain what the rating is, but after -10 my toes are freezing!

Not satisfied. Used in Alaska. Temperatures around 25-30F and they couldn't keep my feet warm.

The shoe is extremely bulky and heavy and not true to size. I ordered my size and it was felt like a whole size too big.

They are very big I would order a size and half from your normal shoe's. Definitely not as comfortable as the old pair I use to have. Lots of reviews say the rubber cracks with in a year. I believe it now that I have been wearing them. Probably won't buy ever again.

At the start of the second snow season, the rubber cracked on both sides of the sole leaking snow and water into the boot. That was a suprise, to say the least. I've repaired them several times, but they simply crack wherever the rubber flexes. I realize these aren't the most expensive boots, but all the way up through the 1990's these were the known as the best, longest lasting winter boots available. I thought these were still made in Canada, they are not.
Time to start researching a different boot.

I bought these boots and as soon as I tried them on I knew there was no way I could walk comfortably in them. They are heavy and clunky. It felt like I was walking around in clown shoes filled with bricks. They seem to be made well and seem like they'd be able to withstand tough winters, but I couldn't see myself wearing these in public without being embarrassed of how huge they are.

I love Sorel boots and I should have listened to my gut and returned or exchanged these right away. They are so masculine and look oversized on my feet. I am a size 9 1/2. The insert falls out of both boots every single time I take them off which is really annoying. For the price, not worth it. Wish I picked a different pair. The quality of material seems good though.

I wish I could keep these boots, but I just can't do it. I literally am walking around looking like I have clown shoes on. I've gotten 8.5 on a variety of different sorels in the past but these are as if my feet got extra wide and extra long. That being said, they are SO WARM AND SO COZY but as an everyday boot, even another size, I feel like I'd be tripping on my own feet.

I must have bought/received an inferior pair last year. I walked around on snow in 30F weather for 40 min and my feet (in a pair of wool socks) went cold and numb despite the legendary felt insoles/padding. I tried it again the next day with 2 pairs of wool socks on, same problem. I doubt they should be rated -40F. I have had other snow boots (lined with shearling) that kept me warmer in the snow. My husband's Caribous did not have this problem. I don't know why mine weren't reliable.

Don't get me wrong, these are excellent snow boots.
BUT.
They are warm to the point that I overheat and sweat, even in the Minnesota winter.
They fit the length of my foot just fine, but there is a ton of room in the foot area. With each step my foot lifts from the bottom of the boot to the top and the boots slide up and down my legs.
They are heavy such that I move slower than normal, and my legs hurt from having to lug around so much weight on my feet. I have to practically run to keep up with people.

These boots are warm and good for walking in unshoveled snow in terms of grips, BUT they add what feels like 5-8 lbs PER SHOE making walking anywhere a slow process. These boots are 2.5-3 times the width of my feet so I often end up hitting/kicking the shoes together when walking, which makes walking around in them that much more difficult. I honestly wish I returned them and got lighter/more manageable boots for walking around the city in the winter.
I also have to wear very thick socks so I'm sliding around on the insides of the shoes. They run quite big in sizes.

I recently just bought these boots for myself. I typically wear a size 9.5-10 in normal everyday shoes (mainly Nike) so I thought I would also order these boots in a 9.5, since it's ratings were "True to size". Needless to say, these boots are not true to size. I tried them on once they arrived and they were at least whole size bigger. I was kind of bummed out because the next day it snowed and I wanted to wear these boots but I couldn't since I was returning these for a 8.5 size. The boot itself was great and a boot that will live up to its word but just too small. Now, patiently waiting for my new size boots to arrive!!
