Customer Reviews Merrell Outmost Vent Waterproof

I love Merrells and this shoe is the worst waterproof design I have ever seen. I cannot stress that enough. There is an almost cellophane like material on the mesh parts. It takes a day of wearing them to get the added bonus of a nice crunching sound with every step you take ??. It's really loud. The kiss of death in footwear!! So while your throwing a hundred bucks in the trash, because you already wore them, you get to develop a mental condition listening to your shoes crunch. This sound can be made pushing on any part of the upper or I have other waterproof shoes that actually don't make bonus noise. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the non waterproof model cause the redesign of this shoe is pretty sweet. I fear this is not isolated, it is design flaw so if you are considering these do yourself a hundred dollar favor and look elsewhere.

Like the style but should have followed the advice of the other review. These shoes have a crunch plastic sound when you walk. most likely the waterproof membrane inside. If they were quiet when you walked, I would have kept them.

The shoe fit true to size and felt good on my wide feet. They are comfortable, have great traction and are relatively good looking for hiking shoes. I would definitely buy them again.

Well fitting in all the right places. Very lite shoe. At the end of the day it feels like I just put them on.

The fit was true to size for me. But I did notice the same squishy sound from the waterproof liner that other reviewers have noted. I returned them, reluctantly.

These were on sale so I ordered them before reading the reviews. Like others mentioned, they have a distinct crunching noise when they flex. It wouldn't be an absolute deal breaker for me, but it was easy enough to order the non-waterproof ones and return these. Hopefully the non-waterproof ones aren't loud because this pair was comfortable right out of the box. What happened to the Goretex shoes Merrell?
