I've been a Merrell fan for years but I find that sizing can be an issue. I'm a euro 40 but these ran short and I could feel my toe right up against the front of the shoe. I am looking for a waterproof hiking shoe, and thought I would try one that came up a little higher on the ankle. I am returning these and will continue to look. Generally my Merrells fit consistently. I don't believe in having to break a shoe in. I have a lot of hiking to do, and need something soon. I am a super fan of Zappos. You cannot beat their quick and free shipping/returns!!

Finally! A comfortable hiking boot! This is the third pair I bought. I was getting to the point where I thought there was no suc thing as a comfortable hiking boot. I wear an 8 and have a wide foot. I ordered my usual size and have no issue with the fit. The toe box is plenty wide enough for my wide foot. No pinching and my toes aren’t banging into the front of the shoe. The arch support is nice. I have very flat feet. The support in this boot is high enough to give me support but not so high it’s uncomfortable. I put them on today thinking I was gonna run a quick errand (it’s snowy and wet here this week). I ended up not going - and forgot I had them on. I just realized 3 hours later I’m still wearing them with zero issue. They’re not heavy & the fit is great!

I usually wear a 9, ordered a 9 and had to return for a 9 1/2. Great customer service and that was no issue! Shoes were comfortable right out of the box, no breaking in required. I have hiked in them several times and they have been great! And yes, they are waterproof! Great shoe at a great price!

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Seriously. I have plantar fasciitis and wide feet so finding any show that fits and has support is extremely difficult. The first thing I noticed is how little these shoes weigh. When I picked up the box I thought "These can't be my boots? Did they only send me one shoe?" But no! They are just super light-weight! The arch seemed high at first, but after wearing them for a day, I broke them in and it didn't seem so high. I usually have to buy a size up or a wide width, so went with just a half-size up and they fit perfectly. These boots are a DREAM!

I finally found a comfortable boot with ankle support that felt GREAT from the very start! This shoe is super lightweight and has excellent arch support. It is breathable yet waterproof so I can wear it to work every morning and still wear it at work. I do a lot of walking during at work, so I was happy to find an all around great shoe that will give me ankle support along with all the other great qualities.

After reading other reviews and from my own personal experience with Merrill’s, I ordered 1/2 size up. I am normally a solid 9 med. width. By ordering a 9.5 these boots fit perfectly right out of the box. They are lighter weight, which helps when working in them all day. I LOVE these boots!!

These beautiful shoes/boots are awesome! From the very moment I put them on, I cannot say enough about how comfortable they are! Highly Recommend!

These fit right out of the box! I loved the arch support. They felt like tennis shoes that I had already broken in.

So far so good! My feet are narrow & I have high arches. The arch support works with my foot/feet. My heels are my "hot spot" and so far these shoes seem to absorb impact in the heel fairly well. I bought them for my upcoming trip to Italy where there will definitely be cobblestone roads and walkways, but then expecting some Spring time rain. I've tried them in the walk around my neighborhood, which is paved, as well as rough terrain and my feet felt great. Love the tongue and how it is attached to the sides of the shoe which I can imagine helps with keeping debris out. I wear a size 8-8.5 and I ordered an 8...they fit good. I wish there were other color options besides the two; I got the shoes with the blue accents but I thought the bulk of the shoe was more gray than brown in color...not the case.

I just tried them on. They feel good. Arch support is a bit high but I think that I will get used to it. Both shoes seem to fit. Other brands and models felt uncomfortable in one shoe or another I have a narrow foot. tongue fits ok. In other boots the tongue folded more because it was wider.

When I first put these shoes on, I loved the lightweight feel, but the arch support rubbed the inside of my foot. Not to be deterred, I tried on 2 other pair I had ordered but still liked these best. For the next several days, I wore these shoes around the house and they actually became perfectly comfortable. Perhaps I had them on slightly "off" center on my foot, but now they feel fine and I'm keeping them. I wanted a pair of lightweight and waterproof boots I could travel with. I normally wear a 10.5 N or M in a hiking boot, but a 10 or 10.5 in street shoes. I like a little extra room in boots to accommodate foot swelling while hiking. I do think these will be great boots, but I will try to post an update after I've done a few hikes in them.

Ran a bit small in length. Very light weight and nice looking. Comfortable around ankle.

I agree with others about the unusually strange sizing for Merrell. I'm usually a solid 9.5 in this brand, and on my first hike I thought these felt a little snug. Zappos was wonderful as always, sending me a 10 to try, but I found that size less supportive: too roomy around the ankle for one thing. The cushioning and arch support are great, and these feel lighter weight and less clunky than the Moab (cuter too). May not repeat this purchase in future, but I'll stick with these slightly snug puppies for the next 500 miles. Thanks as always to Zappos for the great service.

Arch felt strange- like off to one side in both shoes. I need an arch that is more centered. I also would prefer more cushioning in a shoe like this.

I liked these boots but the sizing was way off. I normally wear a size 9 but these boots in a size nine were way too small so I am returning them.

These arrived with someone's hairbrush filled with hair inside one of the shoes. It was absolutely disgusting. I tried on the other shoe, but that one looked stretched out and felt wide. Not good!
