Customer Reviews Frye Bowery Lace-Up

I have these in dark brown leather size &. This is 1/2 size smaller than my usual Frye size. I have a little extra length with gives me room for arch supports. These boots are well cushioned, but have no arch support to speak of. I am accustomed to this and always use arch supports. I am a Frye junkie, and other than Asics sneakers it's all I buy. I love these boots. They are comfortable, good looking and well made. I believe they will outlast me!

I love this pair of boots. They are stylish, easy to put on and take off thanks to the zipper, and comfortable. I am usually a size 10.5 and ordered a 10 based on the reviews, and that was a good decision—they fit me well, with plenty of room in the toe and enough room for my orthotics.

Good looking boot but too narrow at front.

If these weren't so expensive they'd be a 5 star rating. Everything is great about them, the fit, the finish, style and comfort. Most leather boots require a pretty extensive break in period, but I wore these the 1st day at work for 12 hours and they broke in easily and were very comfortable. Sort of forgot I was wearing them until I crossed my legs in a meeting and someone gave me a complement on them. I purchased both the Bowery lace-up and the regular slip on version and I'd say the laces ups look more stylish and the fit better as they are more secure around your ankle...I don't feel my heal raising when I walk...the laces keep my foot secure. The zip up side is convenient as well, don't have to re lace every time I put the boots on. They are a little tricky to maneuver your foot into from the side zip but not too bad. Just takes a little work, the tongue slips down a bit so you have to hold it up and laces out of the way when putting on but pretty easy to adjust once on. zip up and go. I've always liked the Fryes, but they haven't always been the most comfortable boot, until these.

Love these boots. Got them a couple weeks ago. Put them on and thought they were a bit stiff and uncomfortable. it's now about 3 weeks and they're incredibly comfortable. The boot has no arch and felt like i was just walking on a piece of flat sole. now after a few weeks if seems as if the sole is forming an arch.. Not sure if that's possible or not but they're getting more comfortable every time i wear them.

I think this boot is very well constructed. However, the sole feels very stiff, heavy, and uncomfortable. I also don’t like that it makes “sticky” noises on certain floors. I like the look of the boot. I’m hoping it will eventually feel more comfortable. It is WAY over priced.

My sneakers sizes range from 9 (converse all-stars) to 9.5 (asics tigers). These size 9 boots were at least a half size too big.

Decent fit but a bit stiff.
