I wear this every day in Minnesota, so during -40 winds, I am completely warm where I'm covered by this coat. This covers down to mid thigh so it keeps that area warm as well. The removable fur/hood gives you plenty of room to modify the coat for your personal use.

Bought this for Christmas for my boyfriend and he loved it! Hasn't worn anything else since. Says he's never owned anything so warm and he looks so handsome in it! Score!

Montreal is currently experiencing a cold wave and thought I needed a coat that would protect me from the temperature. The coat is an idea length. I am 5'7'' and it lends mid-thigh. There is an integrated scarf in the hood of the coat that is very useful and warm. Lots of deep front pockets; although I would have preferred to sacrifice the depth of the pockets and have two diagonal pockets. The medium fits well but the shape of the coat is puffy and relaxed, not slim fit. There is a learning curve on the zipper because the coat is mid thigh length, the zipper has to start at waist-level otherwise it would restrict the movement of the legs. I had to learn to zip by grabbing the side of the coat instead of the bottom of the coat. Coat is warm when outside. Coat is not radiating heat when carried around indoors. Faux fur on the hood protects my face from the wind but restricts visibility, have to turn my entire body from left to right to check for traffic. Overall very satisfied with the McMurdo Parka.

I was expecting something big and uncomfortable. But when I tried it on for the first time it was the most comfortable and warm jacket. It came in on perfect timing and I don't regret it

My husband and I bought this jacket for our son who commutes into NYC. The weather has recently turned frigid and this jacket is perfect so that he stays warm during his commute. The jacket also looks very nice for going to work.

This parka is an outstanding value compared with some of the pricier parkas out there. This coat is very high quality. It is extremely warm. The down in this jack seems to be very high quality. It has a decent sized hood with a truly handy neck gaiter built in. If you are in the cold often, you will use it all the time. The longer length of the coat is perfect, especially for wind whipping city streets. The hand warming pockets are in good locations and are very soft and pillow-y inside. There are so many pockets I can't imagine ever using them all. I also love that the fur (and the hood) are detachable. Things I do not love about this coat - it does not excel in breathability. The zippers are insubstantial for a jacket of this weight. The neck is very tight and when zippered all the way up make it a tight squeeze for your face. The buttons lining the zipper cover are small and painful to deal with. Also, it really could have used some sleeve gaiters. Despite it's short comings, I can't imagine finding a warmer more functional coat at this price point. I highly recommend.

The zippers are excellent and are very high quality. The zippers work easily and lay perfectly flat. The hood has a draw string, it's tucked under a small flap on the back of the hood. High quality snaps. The coat has a very nice, clean cut design that is very utilitarian. The pockets are well-placed and ample. The fur is removable from the hood and the hood is removable. The fill has nice loft without being too bulky. I'm 5'-9", 160 lb, 34" waist and the parka in a size medium fits perfectly. I normally wear a size large for shirts. It has plenty of flexibility and does not restrict movement. Very nice length that covers my backside. I shopped a lot of different brands of parkas and decided on this one and I'm glad I did. It is easily the best parka that I have ever owned.

The McMurdo Parka is the perfect jacket for cold weather. When you wear your McMurdo it seems there is not cold at all. Furthermore it is really comfortable and the fit is amazing, very stylish. The only thing I find that requires a bit of improvement are the zippers, however it is not a major concern as when you get used to them they work fine.

My husband loved his early Christmas gift. We took it to Williamsburg VA and rode the train. It was a great coat for being outside alot and he really loved the coat but on the return trip home on the train, upon debarking, the coat was gone from overhead storage with our other belongings. So, while it was short worn, maybe someone else will get the chance to give raving reviews bc that is what it deserves only we don't have it anymore unfortunately so keep your coats close by folks....it's so good, someone will steal it.

Perfect for the winter months anywhere, but especially big cities like New York. It's great for durability, wind resistance, and is easy to take on and off when switching from outdoors to indoors.

Of course in Texas I do not regularly wear this, but I was lucky enough to have chosen this parka for my winter trip to Paris. The parka kept me perfectly warm during the first snowfall of the season, and was super comfortable while walking by the river and sheltering me from the wind coming out of the subway stations. 100% recommended.
