I love the quality of this jacket and it's super cute and flattering as well! I do need to exchange for a smaller size, but other than that I know I'll love this investment!

The design is flattering. The material was softer and lighter than my old arctic parka. I hope it is just as weather resistant and toasty warm as my old favorite!

I just got my coat so haven't used it yet, but I love the fit, style, color etc. I had to take it off almost immediately because I was so hot! This is the first winter coat I've ever bought for myself and I am very excited to test it out during the cold months.

This is a great, warm winter coat and the length is ideal (hits mid thigh). As a 5'6" 125 lb woman, the small was surprisingly a bit big on me. I'd prefer it to be more snug around the torso and would be great if the bottom of the coat had a drawstring or some sort of option to tighten it. I haven't yet worn the coat in very cold weather, but am concerned the gaping at the bottom of the coat may let some cold / wind in.

Everything is great, except for the fact that the pockets were a little low on me (I'm 5'3'') and I thought they could be a little bigger. Sometimes I feel like the zipper is a little finicky. It got stuck 3 times in the first 2 weeks of wearing it.

I love the warmth and style of this coat that I purchased to weather cold and rainy lacrosse games in Ohio. It certainly did the job until I got home and took off my coat. The black tunic I was wearing underneath was covered in small, fine white goose feathers. I tried to get them off with a lint roller with hardly any success. I literally had to hand pick the tiny feathers from the front, back and arms of my clothing. Thank goodness I was in the comfort of my own home and not a party or work meeting!

This jacket saves me in the mountains! I would be freezing without this! It is very durable in the wind/rain and handles temperatures down to the negatives easily (with layering). This is the best jacket for the northeast, the only complaint is the feathers are already coming out after 3 months of wear.

This jacket definitely keeps you warm! I’m 5’3, 180lbs, it hits right at my knees and I still have tons of room to layer underneath. I love that the sleeve cuff has an inner liner so it sits close to my wrist. Yes, it’s worth the money!!!

You can tell this a quality product. I wish they would add a fleece lined neck to add some softness near where your chin and the coat hit as its scratchy/irritating on my skin. I also wish they made this in more colors or patterns. I'm returning it because I found that wearing 2 sweaters underneath made me feel restricted in my movements. I think if I size up for layering it'll be more comfortable. Overall, I really love how warm and functional this coat is! Great product that just needs a little more flare.

I love this coatit's nice and warm (I live in Chicago) and provides good water protection. It's also quite cute on! Some things to know: while the a-line shape is flattering, it does make the bottom part of the coat less warm than the upper section which fits more snugly. (Though it perhaps makes it easier to move around in than if it was straight-lined.) Maybe I'm just used to the shape of my older style Metropolis (purchased in 2011 and still going strong!) which hugs the hip and thigh and remains straight right to the bottom hem. Also, another thing to bear in mind for anyone who owns older Northface merchandise: the sizing has been completely revamped! I am 5 ft 3 and weigh 103 lb. I ALWAYS wear XS for all clothing and my past Northface purchases (nothing recent) have also always been XS. This time, however, the XS was way too tight, especially across the chest and upper back. I tried a number of jackets and coats on in the store and this sizing was consistent across all the merchandise. I ended up buying the Arctic Parka in the Small which was the correct fit across the chest and shoulders but is not quite as snug as I would like at the waist and hip. Not sure why Northface made this weird sizing change (Eddie Bauer did something similar a while ago too) but it's definitely something to keep in mind when ordering. Finally, I bought the parka in the black and while I was initially disappointed that the faux fur was a mix of silvery grey and white instead of the tan color mix used on the taupe parka, I now really like the look of the silver fur against the black fabric as I think it provides nice contrast. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase!

I love, love, love this jacket! It is warm, covers my but and looks great on me. I am 150 lbs with an athletic build. I initially listened to the reviews and sizing advice that this jacket fit small and I ordered a medium. It was to big. I exchanged it for a small and the fit was perfect! Every time I wear it I get so many compliments. I love this coat! It is warm, stylish and fits like it was sewn just for me!

I Love this jacket! It is warm and well fitted. I listened to the other reviews to purchase a size up and ordered a medium instead of a small. Even though I am normally a small. It was way to big, especially in the body and arm area. I returned it for a small, which fit perfectly!! I am 5'6" with an athletic build. In my opinion this coat fits true to size and is well worth the money.

I love the look of the coat, its warm and I really like the sleeve design at the wrists. The only downfall is the zipper. I have trouble getting the zipper started and every time i try to unzip the bottom zipper to sit in my car it gets stuck nearly every time. Very frustrating.

This coat is great for a cold, northern winter. Very warm. I sized up (bought a medium, typically a small) to get a bit more length in the sleeves and mobility in arms/shoulders. I wear it around town, on walks/hikes and playing with kiddos outside.

Pros: Warm, stylish, the quality of the material Cons: My arms feel the draft if I'm not wearing a long sleeve top under my coat.

This is a nice jacket if you live in a snowy area. I bought this for a trip to Northern California Ski trip, but thought it is too bulky and thick for my needs. It's a slim fit so it looks nice. The zipper, as others mentioned, is hard to use and very annoying. I'm 5'2", 135lbs and Medium was the right size with some room for a sweater underneath. It comes down to just above my knee, so it was a bit too long for me. I'm returning mine, but I will buy this in the future if I ever go to Canada in the winter.

Overall the coat great. I purchased the coat at Zappos as well as at Macy’s. The one I purchased at Macy’s was grey and the black I purchased here and they both feel exactly the same. I love the coat and I will definitely order from Zappos again.

Fit is true to size. I'm 5'2", 105 lbs and the XS is perfect for me with room to even wear a sherpa pull over under it. The coat is super stylish with a slight gathering at the waist to keep a feminine look. The cons are that the zipper is a little hard to get up and seems a little cheap. Also the hood could be quite a bit bigger in my opinion with a thicker band of faux fur. With a winter hat on, it's almost impossible to get the hood to come up and over your hat if the wind is blowing. Overall I like the coat but almost wish I'd have tried the parka that was just a little bit more $ but had a hood that didn't detach.

I really do like this jacket a lot however I found the medium to be a little bit too loose for me even with a sweater on underneath. I feel like I look like the abdominal snowman lol. The arm sleeves are a bit long and I feel like it's not as slim fitting as it's marketed to be. That's mostly what bothers me about the size medium...i wish there were drawstrings in the inside to at least cinch up the waist. However, I did also order a small and the small was indeed way too tight around the chest. It was pressing against my chest which made it almost difficult to breathe. However, I loved the fit with the small (arms, shoulders, waist). But I'm sadly going to return the small (I bought it from a different company) and keep the medium just because I feel like the quality will last for a while and this jacket and serve me well into my future. Now I know why most of the reviews said that you should size up....and you should if you decide to purchase this. I wish they had a size in between a small and medium though. Giving it a 4 out of 5 stars because everything checks out except for the sizing. I'm average built, 5'3, and 140 pounds for reference.
