I bought this for my husband.....it is a bit of a slimmer fit, he loves the matte black and light weight enough!! he really likes the jacket.

The north face jacket is a true sport wear with classic look and anytime weather dressings from fall to intense winters. Always recommend such fine quality for sports lovers..

I'm amazed at how warm this jacket is despite being so light. I recently wore it in 30s/40s at night in Yellowstone and it was great. You're not too hot, and you're not cold, it's just right. Packs into a (kind of) ball inside one of the front pockets making it easy to pack. Comes out really wrinkled but smooths out in time. Nice piece for cold weather.

I baught this jacket because I needed a new winter jacket seeing winters right around the corner plus it's better to shop for the winter at the end of summer beginning of fall because everything's is on sale but I baught it and put it in my closet to wait till it got colder out and the other night was a little chill so I went lookin for a sweater and saw this and said hmm I should try it on it needs some use and never again will I wear a sweater for outside cold night time weather this thing is amazing it's so comfortable and lightweight the material is nice definitely made good and I feel you want my opinion honestly but this one instead of the one with the hood no one should have to pay an extra 100$ just for a hood when you can easily wear a winter Haynes with the jacket aswell.

Fantastic as a stand-alone or layering piece. I live in Calgary, Canada - the weather can switch on a dime. This piece is comfortable from -15 to +20 C - it truly is that versatile. My go-to for camping, backpacking, aircraft travel (warm, lightweight and small), and just hanging out. Its temperature/comfort range is truly remarkable. Only issue (and this is new) is sizing - I purchased my second one last month (mens large, just like my original bought 3 years ago), and it was too big - chest shoulders and sleeves - but sold it to my slightly larger camping buddy. Check TNF's sizing charts carefully and/or try on before purchase. Still, and all in all, the best jacket you can buy in its category, hands down.

I'm ALWAYS hot!! This jacket keeps you warm when it's cold but because it's so lightweight you can unzip and not be a sweaty mess when it's not as cold. Bought a second for myself (with hood) and one for my wife and son...

The jacket is really good. The only thing is that the zippers started falling within a week of use

Very thin and light weight, but surprisingly warm. It protects against wing and is great for active people. The only downside is it fits a little larger than my other north face jackets.

Very comfortable, just want I wanted as far as warmth. Fits a little boxy especially in the shoulders and I have wide shoulders

I use it casually. It's lightweight and comfortable and it keeps me warm for being a lighter type of jacket.

I would use this product when out in the winter cold. It protects me from cold and wind, is light weight and I can move freely.

The size estimator on the web site is off by one size for this jacket in my case at least. The jacket is stylish, looks good and keeps you warm. I got a good deal around Thanksgiving!

Stitching/thread seems to come loose easily. Have had to clip loose ends several times already. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come. Excellent fit and comfort. Very warm. I have another one from a year ago and didn't have any stitching/thread problem.

Awesome jacket!!! Plenty warm if you zip up, and use the hem cinch-cord. Out of 5 stars, this jacket would be a 6 if it included an internal zip pocket (not sure what The North Face has against internal zip pockets that they rarely include them no matter how expensive the jacket is, so given that the competition has them, 4 stars for now). The specs make no mention of any wind resistance for this jacket, but it held up well in 42 degree weather with 20 mph winds. The jacket also seems to strike the right balance between warmth and breath ability. The two front zipper pockets are warm and deep, and I can't believe how silky soft and comfy this jacket is! Why bother with down, and feather leakage when you can rock a thermoball???
