This was my first NorthFace item ever, and since then i have brought the same jacket in Orange/Black. I love clothing that is very colorful and these jackets really make my day whenever i wear them. I have received so many compliments when i am out an about. I will be buying more Northface. The towson store in Towson, Maryland is always friendly when i go in there, Pleasant people are who i don't mind doing business with.

This jacket is great, warm and fits true to size. I bought to layer with a rain North Face jacket, it worked out well. Now I can wear it when it's even colder out and when it's raining as well.

I wear this jacket on cold mornings walking my dog and at night, temps around 20 degrees and am super warm. I will get hot after walking awhile if the sun is out in Colorado. The jacket is awesome for the price I wish I would have got one with a hood but it easily fits underneath a north face shell and provides alot of warmth. I do get cold if temps are under 20 degrees but you could layer easily. super light and durable and packs down very easily. Great jacket for the price. I am 5'9 195lbs and wear a large with room in the torso fit is good a medium would be to small i think.

Just got this jacket and haven't stopped wearing it. Extremely well fit and keeping me quite warm so far. I'd buy one in each color if I could.

Picked this up as a packable hiking and general pre-January use jacket both as a standalone or a layer under my Dryzzle. Typically, I have only one layer under it, such as a long sleeve t-shirt, or a flannel shirt, etc. - So far it's plenty warm by itself, even in some moderate wind - Trash zippers, which is a theme on a lot of my TNF jackets, because many are difficult to pull, typically, and/or bind a lot. However, I have TNF jackets that are 15 years old, with similar zippers, and they've yet to break, so that's a plus. I can't say they're any better/worse than my Patagonia zippers, so maybe this is just where zipper quality is these days. - CAVEAT - this jacket won't zip into a 3-in-1 type shell, such as the 94 Retro Mtn Light. Reason is the zippers are different types/sizes. If one looks at a Denali or Nuptse zipper, it's molded plastic of a different size than the smaller, metal coils of this zipper, and those larger, plastic zippers on the Denali and Nuptse are the ones that integrate with the secondary, internal zippers of the 3-in-1 shells. - I bought the Timber Tan color, and it matches the image on the site pretty well - Slim fit - a medium in this jacket is a bit slimmer than a medium in a Nuptse, Gordon Lyons, or Denali full-zip, etc., but that's fine for me, and range of motion is fine. Overall, I'm perfectly happy with this thing. Works as described and looks pretty good, too.

Its been 35 plus years since a North Face purchase. Last one was a VE 24 tent, the best at that time and a few down jackets. Usually go the Patagonia and Mountain Hardware route. Ordered the XL after trying on a large. 6', 185 athletic build. Great fit on the slim XL. Finally, a jacket that was made toward active men. Great look and warmer than I thought. Went outside the other night, temps around 40 and wind 15 MPH. Totally windproof and surprisingly warm. Haven't taken it into the wilds yet, but really liked the performance. Well done NF on this one.

This is probably my third Thermoball in the closet. But this one feels different based compared to the previous ones I have. It must be the new eco-friendly materials. Compared to the old ones which are little thinner, this one is a little thicker, a bit heavier, I would say. I like the matte finish compared to the shiny ones on the first ones. I just wish they had the logo in white stitching. I use this jacket a lot for my travel around the East Coast. (I did almost lose this one at the TSA check-in). It's also easy for me to tuck and hide. There is a Stow feature on the left pocket where you can fold it right in.

I had been looking for a new lightweight/windproof jacket. This proved to be exactly what I was looking for. I have longer arms and it still fit perfect with needing a bigger size as I do with some brands. My only concern will be durability in Armpit areas. Whenever I put the jack seed t on. It feels as lost to tight there, like if I'm not careful I could rip it. I do have blood shoulders though, so someone of narrow shoulders probably won't have this issue.

You really can't beat the red color, it's a head turner. The jacket is also incredible warm for its weight.
