I was excited to purchase this coat but was disappointed at its performance. I tested this coat in 0'C weather and didn't feel the "exceptional warmth" that is advertised. I purchased a size large (bc the sizing chart was the same as the Patera, and the large Patera fit me.) The large Centrale was way over sized than the large Patera. It is possible that because it was big on me that is why it also didn't keep me warm. I wanted to love it but I ended up returning it because if I knew it didn't keep me warm in 0'C temps, I knew it wouldn't keep me warm in much colder temperatures. I did end up purchasing the Patera instead. I do find the Patera warmer than the Centrale (although not sure how the Patera will do in -40 weather yet). The Centrale was extremely lightweight, I felt that bc the material of the Patera felt more durable and slightly heavier than the Centrale, the Patera made me feel more protected. I also found the zipper very hard to zip as it would be sticky (also an issue with the Patera). It does take time to get the zipper right for it to work properly. The bottom of the Centrale parka also ballooned out/was wide so I felt it allowed the cold air come from under the coat. An elastic drawstring inside to keep the drafts out might have been a nice feature. Other parkas from other brands are warm enough that you could just wear a t-shirt underneath and be warm. Unfortunately, I don't feel this is possible with the Centrale. On a side note: I do wish Arc'teryx would give a temperature rating on their parkas as to minimize guessing if it will be warm enough or not for the varying degrees of 'extreme weather'.

While this coat is warm up top, your thighs will freeze because the zipper starts almost 10" front the bottom of the coat. There's a snap about 5" below that, but that leaves a large gap where cold air blows in. I've taken this out for a spin twice and my thighs froze both times. For the cost of this coat, I would expect better coverage and design. Returning.

I bought this 2.5 months ago and while it's warm, the zipper is terrible. It feels really cheap and is hard to use. It comes undone when I walk my dog and is hard to zip and unzip. I'm really disappointed. Should have paid more attention to the reviews about it.

I am absolutely disappointed. The jacket is not warm... I have cheaper warmer jackets and I really wanted to invest in a good one that would keep me warm in south Germany's winter (-5 C.) and honestly it didn't make any difference from any cheaper jacket I had before. The zipper is horrible and I still can't believe I payed so much for this.

I was so hopeful when I bought this jacket, for the money it should have been incredible. Unfortunately the jacket is way over priced and has several flaws. I returned the jacket after wearing it once. Do not buy this jacket.

Had wanted a warm, waterproof, full-length coat for cold weather, but this coat is so wide at the bottom that cold air gets in, and the sleeves were not warm at all. I may as well have been wearing a vest! A waste of a lot of money!

Unfortunately one negative outweighs all the positives of this coat, namely the zipper. It has been an issue since the coat arrived last winter and has continued to deteriorate since then. The zipper constantly splits and opens from the bottom. It takes multiple tries to even get it zipped, which requires a level of precision to align the zipper absolutely perfectly that should not be required. And then it still often splits, usually once you're already outside. This negates the fact that the coat is warm and waterproof when zipped, since it rarely stays that way. This should not be an issue in a coat this expensive.

I received the parka 10 days ago and the top zipper has already broken off. I was loving the great warmth, style, color and hood but without a proper zipper it's unwearable.
