This jacket is very versatile across a lot of outdoor activities. I have found the hood very good protection for rain and cold wind. It is lightweight and reasonably quiet for a Gortex shell.

I bought this for light hiking / commute / walking my dog in Vancouver in shoulder seasons. I love the trim fit and the light material, however, I'm deducting 1 star for the lack of chest pockets. I should have bought last generation of this jacket

I purchased the 2019 Matador one from the outlet a month back and for the most part it's great. True and tested already in a few heavy down pours while hiking and I was completely dry.

Bought this as a light waterproof shell. Just tested in the rain this morning, kept me dry and was breathable. Two things: I bought based on other reviews saying it ran large, but I didn't find that to be the case. I got a large, which is consistent with my measurements, and was hoping based on the reviews that I would be able to layer a lightweight down underneath for winter. It's not quite large enough for that. A sweatshirt fits but not sure if anything more would. Second thing: the hood is so huge, I get that it's sized for a helmet, but it makes everyday rain wear pretty inconvenient, even with a hat underneath you have to hold it to keep it from blowing off. Again, it's a great lightweight, waterproof shell, just some things to keep in mind if you are looking for something more everyday than for skiing, etc.

I bought this jacket to replace my 10 year old beta. I am 5'6" 130 lbs and my old jacket was a medium. I bought a small and it's slightly bigger than my old beta. Feels like good quality but I haven't put it to the test yet with any big adventures.

A classic example of what outdoor gear should be all about. Weatherproof, light, robust and compact. The perfect example of a three season shell for me. I am a walker and love hiking. Whether I'm in the Eastern Townships or other parts of the world, being well dressed appropriately is of the utmost importance and Arc'teryx does that very well. I have been a customer for quite a few years and the quality of their products and their service have always been up to par. My new BETA LT shell is no exception. Although when I bought it there weren't many colours available(sad) I am still pleased with its performance in different weather situations. Also, a little thing that really irks me is that there are no inner pockets. I understand why but I found that in my old and very used BETA AR the pocket was handy for carrying small items. Other then that, I love it.

I wear a small in the Cerium LT, so I went with the small on this too. It was a little bigger than I expected, but it worked out great for my Iceland trip. I was able to wear a base layer, a fleece and cerium lt under it with plenty room to move around. I'm 5'7 and 130lbs.

I bought this for my wife because she needed a rain coat. She loves her Atom AR, so we went with the Beta LT. It fits her well in a size small. She is 5'6" 125 lbs. It is a really great looking coat that absolutely does it's job and keeps her dry, but..... she hates the noise it makes. It's very crinkly. It unfortunately comes with the LT and it's gore-tex. It's kind of become a joke between us, but besides that it really is a terrific coat that will last many years.

Overall great and stylish jacket. Doing great job saving from heavy wind and rain. Very light and pretty small in packed condition. But DWR wears really fast and after reapplying not working that great as new. Also my big concern is about fabric. I've got black one and everything leave stains on it, which is not easy removable. It doesn't really matter when you hiking, but in city that is not really appealing. I also got arcteryx brieze 32 backpack and gamma LT pants, all in black and they all attracts dirt which is not easy to remove.

Love this jacket! Contemplated buying it for a few months and I'm very glad I bought it. It's an extremely versatile jacket that I have worn in various activities including hiking, skiing and even rock climbing. Also worn in all seasons and temperatures and pairs well with the Arcteryx Atom jacket when needing to keep warm.

This is my second Beta LT. My first one stopped being waterproof after less than a year of light wear (light hiking, walking the dogs, around town). I replaced that one with this new one and so far so good. The color on the website is a bit deceptive as I thought the Flare color was an orangish red not the almost traffic cone orange it is.

I admit, I bought this jacket mainly because it came in my favorite color, but I knew it would be a fantastic year round shell for all of my adventures. I wear it to walk my dog, adventure around town, and for hiking and backpacking in the mountainous PNW where weather is unpredictable. Even though it fits little little too tight in my (curvy) hip area, it still layers over my puffy and a long sleeve shirt. Win!! The only other oddity (for me) is the height/placement of the pocket zipper pulls. All the way up and they are practically nipple tassels ;) I keep mine unzipped about a half inch when not using the pockets. I'm 5'2" and 140 lbs and bought a Med.

I bought this jacket as something a little leaner than my Beta AR for enduro mountain biking in the wet winter months. The fit is perfect in Large, at 190lbs/ 180cm tall. incredibly light and articulate for a pro shell which is exactly what I needed. Once you hit the top of the mountain you can see the steam coming off this jacket it really breathes that well and keeps you clean and dry on the way down. Only thing I wish it had was pit zips for that added ability to really dump excess heat when needed.

I waited 3 years to write a review, it's seriously a great product. i used it all year round, riding my bike, hiking/trekking, winter coat (with another layer), as a rain jacket. I crossed the globe, went as high as 5000m and it stayed faithful the whole way. it is great and if your treat it well it will stay nice. only down side is that after 3 years the shell started to delaminate (which is covered by the warranty), they told me they had a problems with pro shells in the past. So hopefully they changed their method of fabrication. What i found to be lacking was armpit zippers, that's why i switched for a Zeta AR. Otherwise it's the best coat i ever owned. If you live in a cold country, make sure you also get a second layer for insulation (i got the Atom LT), i have no problem even down to -20'C.

My girlfriend and I went on a 2 month backpacking trip to Europe and asia nearing the end of 2015 and her beta lt experienced contamination around the shoulder to top chest area in the jacket (where her pack straps touched). This is not repairable nor is it covered under warranty when this sort of thing happens, although my alpha ar i brought on the trip did not experience such a fate. First note I want to add, we did wash the jacket when we stopped between towns, not proper washes with machines in some of them. Where it probably went wrong is the jacket could have needed more frequent washing when they are exposed to more humid weather and sweat over the areas her backpack straps touched over repeated periods has an effect on the fabric and was noted in the contamination when we returned to the states. The jacket still holds up to rain with DWR but in areas of affected contamination the jacket was nearly transparent when held up to light compared to the remaining areas of the jacket. This is a first we have experienced with this sort of issue out of any of our arcteryx gear, just wanted to make it noted in the review in more humid/tropical weather, frequent washes are required to keep this jacket in top shape. Still a great jacket nonetheless, mine is still in top shape.

An excellent Jacket. I wear this over an Atom AR hoody for my Canadian Winter combo. I like the slim fit and all the contours seem to be the right place. The higher pockets make bulky stuff seem less weighty. My only complaint is the neck feels a bit too tight if I wear any base-layer with a thicker neck.

This jacket is a great all-round jacket on the west coast. It's lightweight, more durable than active shell and gives a flattering fit which some shells lack. Try one out!

Love My Beta LT, The Thalo blue is a good colour to. The fit comes up small so if you want thicker layers under neath Size up. Hood is effective and works well with Hemet, Its a little short so consider using with higher wasted waterproof trousers. I've put some thicker utility cord on the zippers to make it easier to use with Gloves, kept me dry on Long exposed belays and multi dayers!
