So, I JUST received the Cerium Hoody in the mail today, and my initial impression is that it is going to make a great mid layer for my missions up in the mountains (Los Padres National Forest; Mammoth Mtn skiing; and trekking in the High Sierras): lightweight, soft hand, well-stitched, and it zips up perfectly - the zipper ends right below my mouth, with a thick panel of insulation right across my chin and upper neck where I usually get cold. Arms are long enough for my long reach, and the large fits my lanky 6'2" 215 lb. frame perfectly, and I mean right on the money. The sleeves are not too tight, but rather are snug and well made. The hood is another area where the fit is excellent, and there is no dead airspace around my skull. Good length, too, as it comes to my waist, meaning it won't hang below my outer shell (Alpha SV, or my Theta LT) and thus get wet. Yes, it is sewn-through construction between the panels (there are no baffles), which is kind of disappointing given how much this jacket costs. I'm hoping the wind doesn't find these thinner areas and just blow right through (in the case that I actually end up taking off my protective outer layer to let a little fresh air in). I will write a new review when I get a chance to test this out in the field, but for now, I give it five stars, just like I give my other Arc' pieces, and there are a lot of them! I love this brand.

love, love this product. Snowshoeing, to work, after x-country skiing or with a outer shell for winter temp. ranges. It is great!

I never normally write reviews but felt that this jacket had had some less than accurate reviews which needed some balance restored: First up it does not loose any down as reported below - I've been wearing it daily for a month and haven't spotted a single loose feather. Second it's probably the lightest item of clothing I own apart from my socks! Third although it feels light it is strong and is without doubt incredibly warm - it competes well even when compared with much thicker jackets, especially if teamed up with a good base layer like icebreaker, I have been using it as an outer layer and haven't had any damage done at all. Fourth, and probably most importantly it not only does it's outdoor pursuits job properly, it also looks great as a fashion item around town, I wear this not only for running and hiking but also going out. Yes it has it's faults, such as not having a wind break under the zip, or no drawstrings around the waist or cuffs, but apart from that this is a great top!

I got this midlayer mainly to use while hiking or just walking around town and once again, Arcteryx never fails to amaze me. It fits me perfectly (I'm 5'10", 180lbs with an athletic body type) and keeps me warm throughout the coldest days that Montreal has to offer. In combination with my Beta AR, I just feel invincible! However, I have to admit that the fabric seems sort of delicate and I just wish they made the zippers a little bit bigger and from metal instead of plastic. Overall, an amazing down hoody!

Just tried with alpha sv in -17 Celsius with wind chill -27. I was hiking so my body naturally generates enough hit but If you are not exercising than should feel some cold in this temperature. for fitting, I suggest you to try one size bigger to comfort fitting. just compare to atom sv large, cerium lager fit little smaller. anyway, I believe this is nice and will made mid-layer jacket but bit pricey! money wise atom sv is better buy.

I use this jacket as a back and forth to work and a fall climbing piece. I dont climb in it but wear it to warm up before and after climbing. It is lightweight which makes it easy to carry and has a stuff sack provided to pack it away. My first use there was however a climber above me who knocked off a large nearly fist sized piece of rock that shattered in half and hit my in teh shoulder and chest. After that impact from about 60 ft up was two tiny punctures that I sealed shortly afterward. If you dont fix those tiny holes you will loose down feathers with each movement.

Picked this piece up as a component of a layering system comprised of the Beta LT shell and a few new base layers (incl. Arcteyx's Phase stuff). I haven't had the opportunity (yet) to subject my 'birded up' system to the rigors of hard-core Scandinavian icebox play but I can say this much so far: for this particular sub rosa fella', the Cerium LT sucks in too many flattering comments from friends and acquaintances living in a sea of Scandinavians who live awash fellow Scandinavians that have gone full tilt on the 'down sweater look' this season. So Arcteryx must've done something right or wrong to cut a piece that so handsomely stands out during daily short-haul autumn commutes. Took this piece out for a 3-day 16 hour/day hike where evening/night temps dropped to +5C/4F and this jacket, alone and w/ the Beta LT over, was simply far too warm when moving. Bodes rather well for the minus 10-15C/5-15F days of backcountry hauling looming ahead. And if global warming should deprive me of a crisp 'n cold winter then I can always wear this thing as a surefire attention grabber when I head out into the Scandinavian urban jungle for some ridiculously overpriced drinks. Thanks Arc--never bored or lonely again ;)

As much as I love Arcteryx gear, I was weary about buying this jacket, being the company's first foray into the down market. But...my first time wearing this thing my concerns were all dispelled. It is incredibly warm for its weight, warmer than my MH ghost whisperer and only a couple ounces heavier. I'm 6'1, 180lbs and the medium fits like a dream. The fit is snug for layering purposes, but it's not at all restrictive in the arms or shoulders. The face fabric also feels much more durable than other ultralight down jackets I've tried out. I usually stick to Arc'teryx when it comes to technical jackets for my outdoor adventures and this purchase has reinforced that for me.

This jacket fits small in the chest. I am 36 in around the chest, but 28 around the waist and 38 around the hips. It's supposed to fit close to your body, but it's a little too tight in the chest since I'm between sizes. I didn't want to order up because the medium would be too big everywhere else, so I'm making the small work. The zippers are a little delicate because it's such a lightweight jacket, hopefully they'll continue to hold up well.

This jacket works well, except its sewn- through construction makes for a little bit to be desired For a high price it seems under designed. This jacket looks and feels amazing; the fabric used has almost a satin finish which gives it a really nice look under light. It also looks amazing due to the nice puffiness of its baffles. Finally- this jacket is super delicate. I've owned other similar down jackets, but this jacket is by far the most delicate. Be careful with the stitching between baffles on this thing- they pull out on nearly anything! I always wear this jacket with another layer on top if there is any chance of abrasion or snagging (even carrying skis snagged a stitch). Only to be worn as is maybe to get coffee or light hiking/ movement in safe spaces.

Great jacket, but a bit smaller in size than other Arc'teryx jackets. I'm a S and would go for M in this one as it is a bit tight over shoulders. I got a climbers back

I love this jacket. It's lightweight, packable, and importantly, super warm. I mainly use it to walk around the city and as a belay jacket. Sometimes I'll throw a Proton FL or Atom LT under it for static use. I'm 5'6 127lb and got an XS which is a trim fit for me. My biggest issue with the jacket is that it leaks a ton of down, even when not in use and hanging in my closet, it leaks!

Bought this last winter and it's my go to jacket when the temperature drops below 30 degrees.

I needed a puff for everyday use during the Fall/winter months, but also a versatile layer for winter camping - this delivered! I used this during a backcountry winter camping trip in Squamish and this thing kept me warm and dry all day/night. I slept with it on and it was like an extra sleeping bag, the hood really helped lock my body heat in. It's such a lightweight coat that can pack quite small so I appreciate that for camping and going on trips. The length at the waist is a bit too short imo and I'm about 5'6". But that's really my own issue with this coat.

The jacket fits me well but the colour of Ephemera appears to be a bit more red than on the web site. In reality it is orange. So I will drive downtown to exchange it. I won't order online anymore

I love this jacket a lot, it's warm, light and fits perfectly. I do believe the sizing may be a bit off as I always wear a large and this jacket is an extra large. As an improvement you should review lining the pockets with something more durable. I've twice had keys in my pocket cut open the pocket liner and I've had to repair it with tenacious tape. A zip out hood would be nice too as it's a bit bulky. Other than that it's an incredible jacket!!

Purchased this jacket in November and had the pleasure of experiencing its capabilities throughout the winter in the Northeast. I was impressed. The pro: I was pleasantly surprised at how warm you could be with appropriate layering in temperatures ranging from 25-45 degrees with such a lightweight jacket. The con: as this is a down filled coat, feathers often poked out of the jacket. As the poke out it is difficult to push back in and when you pull on these sharp ends there is often another feather waiting behind it. Very annoying.

I've had this one since October of 2020 and it's holding up nice. Super warm

It's a great looking jacket with a nice fit. The only complain I'd have is the amount of down leakage.

I had the Cerium LT Hoody for about 1.5 years now and it's been holding up well. Mainly bought this as a mid insulation layer to wear with a Arcteryx Beta SL Hybrid shell in my trip to Iceland in the summer. The combination worked well for windy weather and temperatures around 10 degrees C doing sightseeing or light/easy hikes. By itself, the hoody is still warm, but it will lack the wind and water proofing of a shell. It is water resistant with light rain beading up on the outer fabric, but definitely not wind resistant as I can feel it going through on a windy day if worn without a shell. This fits slim. I am 5'8", 140 lbs, wears 36S suits, and the XS fits trim with room only to layer a thin sweater.

Packable, lightweight, and surprisingly durable, this jacket is my go-to insulation layer in the winter. I especially like it under a shell, but on dry, cold mornings it works great alone.

I bought this jacket in December as I needed a new mid layer for skiing. It was super warm and packed down easily. Only lost one star as you could see the dark coloured down through the material, but 5/5 in function

I've had this jacket for about 6 months and haven't had major issues. It fits well and is really warm. When it's raining, I always wear a Goretex rain jacket. My only comment is that the brown feathers showing through the bright coloured jacket makes it look dirty and mottled. It's most obvious around creases (elbows and armpits). At first, I thought it was actually dirt and did a thorough clean (followed the instructions arc'teryx put out for washing down). When the jacket looked essentially the same after the wash, I realized it was probably something else and it looks to be a common issue with the dark feathers. If you want a lighter colour, pause and decide how much you care about this since you are dishing out a lot of money.
