Great shoes but the SHOELACES ARE TOO SHORT. Yes, they are long enough, but you have to tie a teency weency little knot and that is hard to do if you have big sausage fingers like me. The cheap so and so's at Asics must be trying to save a few pennies. I had to shell out a couple more bucks to get new replacement shoelaces. Pffft.

Only about a half size smaller tjan advertised, width is OK in the body but a little to narrow in the toe box. So if you wear a 11 1/2 d order a12 ee.
This is better than other styles a have tired, they must be useing a shrinking Chinese foot at the factory to set the sizes. Some styles I have trired a 13 ee and still too small .

Recently purchased the ASICS gel-venture 5 and gel-venture 6. Prefer the fit of the gel venture 6, but the separated sole on the gel-venture 5 has more flexibility. Both are good trail running & walking shoes - happy with the fit. 14W.

These are of substantially poorer quality than the previous generation of this model. The shoe is of much weaker structure, especially around the heel. They feel flimsy and no longer support your ankle at all. I have loved the Gel-Venture series, but after this massive disappointment, I can't recommend them any longer.

I bought these for a friend that needed a good multi terrain running shoe. He loved them. I purchased a size 9.5 (his usual size in Asics) but it was too large. My friend laughed and said oh wow guess i’m a size 9 in these. Zappos let him return them as they were a gift. They even let him get the correct size at the same price. He now has the correct size and loves them.

they are very comfortable, i am not a runner i'm a Nurse, i rack up 8 miles a day waking and sort distance running in these. they feel great and support great. So far 26 hours in 2 shifts and i'm, loving them

I've worn out four pairs of GEL-Venture 5 shoes trail-running in rough terrain and over boulders. These were great shoes that were well-suited for trail running.
I ordered a pair of GEL-Venture 6. When they arrived, it was dismaying to find that the eyelets for heel-lock lacing were taken out of the design. This makes the shoe unsuitable for running. They may be OK for going to the grocery store and mall, but not for running. I will be returning the shoe and switching to another brand.

I purchased two pairs of shoes, since I underpronate (supinate); these and the New Balance FuelCore Urge v2. There are pros/cons to both, but ended up returning these based on comfort. They are definitely a (more) stable and arguably a better-built shoe, but I felt they were very uncomfortable. I normally wear an 8.5 in Vans, and these felt larger at 8.5. The 8's fit more like a Vans 8.5 for a relative comparison. Overall, I'd give these a 3.5 / 5.

I really like this shoe, I buy a lot of ASICS running shoes. These are great for walking and daily shoes. I have high arches but don’t feel the need for arch support. I will note this shoe does not have much, if any arch support. So if that’s a concern, look elsewhere. Otherwise, good shoe, good price. I would spend a little more money for an actually running shoe. This is a daily walker for me.

Overall it's a good shoe. I wasn't sure the arch support would work, since I suffer terrible pain with my flat foot, so I put in my arch support orthotic, I can't really gauge whether the one in the shoe works on not. I have had several compliments about the shoe. I am happy with it; the next one I buy I'll make it extra extra wide.
