Finally - I've found the holy grail of shorts!! As a 45 year old who's still in good shape, I struggle to find shorts that are flattering and still age appropriate. These are absolutely perfect. The flat front ensures my shirts look smooth and my tummy looks slim with no bulky zippers/buttons/belts. I've also grown irritated by shorts with bulky back pockets, but these are "false" pockets so NO BULK! The front pockets are just deep enough to be useful. These are adorable and I'm ordering in more colors. The 8" and Bermudas also fit the same as the 5" and are equally adorable. Great buy and I hope JAG continues to make these year after year!!

Cute! Fabric is nice and soft. Shorts look great and not 'mom' like. I bought 2 pairs!! Best shorts in the closet.

Great shorts. Extremely comfortable waistband. I tend to wear my shirts untucked, so it's nice not to have the bulk of a front zipper.

I love these shorts. The length is just right and there is no bulky button and zipper to show through my tops yet the waist is smooth and flat, not gathered. I bought Soapstone and Birdsnest and like both colors.

These are really cute shorts, love them. In the stone color, the front pockets show an outline that is a little too obvious for my taste (which I think could have been improved by cutting the pocket lining a little differently, or with faux front pockets). I wish the shorts had real back pockets in all the colors so I could put my phone in my back pocket. I ordered several colors including the two shades of denim. As with other jag jeans, I love the higher cut rise to eliminate muffin top, they are not at all binding around the waist so super comfortable, and the flat front under a top is brilliant, no zippers anywhere to add bulk.

I love Jag and have consistently been a size 8 with the brand in both the jeans and shorts; however, the Ainsley short fit me inconsistently in two ways: 1) I had to go up to a size 10 -- unusual for the Jag brand which tends to be a bit more relaxed cut, and 2) the shorts fit inconsistently across colors. I love the length of the shorts so opted for the size 10 but had to return the black and palm colors because they were too small. White, stone and grey fit uniformly and as expected.

I really liked the comfort and stretch of these shorts. The reason I gave it one star is because it felt a bit short in the crotch. Not terrible, but if you are petite sometimes this can be an issue. I am 5ft 2in, 115lbs, and have a longer waist and short legs. I will order again since they are shorts I can go out in and feel appropriately dressed. I may try the regular in a smaller size to see how that fits.

Ordered them in Black & Navy in size 14 (June 2018). The Black pair ran at least 1 size smaller.

These shorts looked awful when I sat down cutting into my leg in both size 6 and 8. I’m 5’6” 135 lbs and my legs are thin. They just didn’t work for me at all.

I like these shorts a lot in the dark colors. If you get the white the pockets show terribly. Like they are bulging and ruins the whole idea of having a smooth front.

I did not like how these looked on me. The leg flared out rather than being straight.
