Customer Reviews New Balance Classics WRL420

Love the look and saffron color of the 420's, but man do they hurt my feet. Way too narrow in the toe box and not enough support to keep my feet from slipping forward. I should have ordered a size larger but don't really think that would have helped either. I've been wearing NB for years and I don't understand how NB got this one all WRONG....

I haven't owned new balance shoes since high school (34 now), and generally wear Nikes. These are painful for me. Softer insoles won't help because it's as if the hard arch built in to the shoe is in the wrong spot for me. I have no foot problems, no special orthotics. Sad to say I wore these outside to test them out as I was incredulous that any sneaker could actually be painful, so I can't return. I would have otherwise. Also, had to order up a 1/2 size, which I've never done in any other sneaker either.
