I bought the Cranberry color and they are beautiful shoes! Unfortunately they are a little rough and slip up and down on my heel when I walk. The leather is not as soft as on other SAS shoes. I can wear socks with them and problem solved. They are just so pretty on the bare feet.

Small houndstooth check on the top was a nice detail; flexible upper meant no bunion pain--a plus. Alas, as is so often the case, the heel is too wide for me. Nice flat for multiple occasions. As supportive as any flat can get.

I was disappointed that it was not the "bright" red that I saw in the picture.

As wide shoes go, it's not the widest, and after about a minute, my foot felt like it was straining at the toe box and feeling cramped. Heel fits well, though. The Brown Tetris pattern (black houndstooth check on brown) makes the shoe a little more interesting, and the shoe has an overall nice slim profile (maybe that's why it wasn't wide enough for me and my bunions). A little surprised at the quality--it's not bad, but when buying SAS shoes in the store in the past, they've always appeared sturdy and of high-quality materials. This feels a little more flimsy.

I am a senior citizen with skinny feet. The first pair of these shoes fit like a glove. I wore them for good and when they were getting stretched out I bought another pair. Sadly the heels were not as narrow as the first pair. I find that the "Slims" fit more like "Narrows" now. I am very sad about that but still love these shoes!

7.5 W fit perfectly in the front and way too big in the heel. 7.0 W fit well.

I didn't give these shoes 5 stars, not because they aren't everything I expect from SAS but because I have narrow heels compared to my toe box. It is impossible to find the perfect pair of shoes. I will need to compensate by padding the heels but that's okay to get a pair of well made and great looking shoes. I have been doing this all my life.

Despite what other reviewers have said, the soles of these shoes are not "plastic-y" and cheap looking. Not at all! I returned my order because they were not the right shade of Navy Blue that I needed. Otherwise they are attractive, classic loafers, very well-made.

The only problem I had, for some unexplained reason, is that the 5 1/2 size was a little big, even though this is the size I normally get. I had to put an inersole in one side.

I buy this shoe over and over again, usually in black. What is called "navy" blue is a strange shade of blue (closer to royal blue than to navy), so I never buy it--although I'd really like a navy shoe. I just wish SAS made a comfortable shoe that didn't look so much like an "old lady" shoe, since I wear this with dresses as well as with slacks.

I have a wide feet so I ordered this in a W but it was still narrow and tight on my feet. Think the style is narrow so if you going to order this and have wide feet get the extra wide.

These loafers looked wonderful in the pic but not as bright a red in reality. I was disappoited in how they felt on my feet. I won quite a few SAS sandals but did not like the style of these loafers. They made my feet look longer than a 7.5 - my usual size. I also want a little higher lift out of the sole. These are being returned.

Red shoe was OK but returned, as the left shoe seemed wider in the heel than the right shoe; I have this same shoe in the blue denim color, same size (7.5 WW) and it is OK. I usually have been taking 8W in SAS shoes (mostly Oxford styles) and that size is good. This style seems to be narrower and shorter.

I bought these for work from a retail store. I have some foot pain due to having broken my foot three times in my life. Normally, I wear a 9 Medium in shoes. In these, I was a 9.5 WW, and even so, the vamp seems very snug for that size compared with how loose the heel is. That said, the construction seems quite good so far. I was out in some pretty bad rains today and they didn't leak water which I LOVED. All in all, they do feel pretty good on my poor ol' feet, but I'm going to have to break in the vamp area a little OR have them stretched a bit. I wish they were more equally spaced in the heel and front, but with the front tighter than the back, I can't give them a 5 star.

SAS seems to have changed the sizing of this comfort loafer. I bought two pairs, black & brown, several years ago in size 7 1/2 W. They both have been a favorite of mine, still fit perfectly with great support and look wonderful as well. I ordered a pair in navy, 7 1/2 W. Sadly, they were so small I couldn't put my foot in the shoe. I returned and ordered a 7 1/2 WW. Unfortunately, this size was so large the heel easily slipped off when I walked. I returned them and ordered a 7 WW. This size is too tight also and must be returned. In the past SAS has always offered a reliable choice of shoes for me to wear. I certainly tried reordering in various sizes to made it work, but realize it's time to give up. It makes me sad and very disappointed.

Ugh-I seem to remember my grandmother wearing this exact style of shoe 40 years ago-now here I am ordering it!! I loved the color-somewhere between a white and a silver~opally is what I would call it~but I thought it was beautiful! I needed to be able to fit orthotics into this shoe and that just wasn’t happening so they had to go back-I have to find shoes that accommodate them and for the prices I am paying I just can’t keep the ones that don’t-but I would have loved to keep this one.

Nice looking loafer, but the Wide sizing is nothing like other SAS shoes I own. This design has an extremely narrow, shallow toe box, while being wide in the heel. I can't even get the foot with bunion into it.

I already have four pair of the SAS Simplify shoes that fit me fine so I felt sure ordering the same size as those (8 1/2 Slim) would work. Sadly, the pair I received yesterday was way too small.
