I have been wearing the Liberty and Free time since the 1980's. The SAS Liberty and SAS Freetime are the most comfortable and high quality shoe available anywhere. They are deeper than other shoes providing plenty of room for toes to move and feet to breathe. These shoes are hand made in San Antonio Texas. The Liberty has a rubber good grip sole. They are the perfect walking shoe. For folks that prefer a bit of a lighter shoe, try the FREE TIME. Take care of these shoes. Purchase a high quality shoe cream and they will last a very long time. They come with two sets of high quality shoe laces. If you are a serious walker and you are tired of trying cheaply made imported shoes, try the SAS LIberty or Free time.

I'm so happy with these shoes. The broader sole, with less arch cut-in, makes me feel that much more secure. These shoes are comfortable and stabilizing. I need some arch help and put in a pair of Spencos 3/4 insoles and that arch helps. I like the plain black; they go anywhere. I wear pants most of the time and these work well with pants. I walk all over Manhattan and these help me save my walking feet. Even though I have terrible arthritis in my feet, these shoes help.

One more set of eyelets might help but with my orthodicts the shoe slips up and down at the heel.

I’ve been wearing SAS sneakers for 25 years for long walks. They’re wonderful. I switched to the Liberty (from Free Time) recently for the non-slip soles as I teach exercise classes and I didn’t want to slide during aerobics. It is indeed non- slip as described. Not the prettiest shoes lol but definitely the most comfortable I ever owned. I felt these ran narrower than other SAS sneakers as normally I’m an 8 1/2 medium and I had to exchange them for a wide. My 84 year old mother lives in SAS sneakers - they’re just the best

I have worn SAS Freetime for over 10 years. The fit and the sizing of the Liberty shoes seems to be the same as for the Freetime. The Liberty shoes do have better traction.

I expected a lot more from this shoe. The insoles are much thinner than the insoles in the "walk easy" shoe. No support and they actually husrt my feet when I put them on. Going back.

I wore these to deliver mail for the post office, averaging about 13 miles per day, and my feet were well cared for in these shoes. They aren't the "cutest" shoes, but they are strong and supportive. I'd say they are well worth the high price tag, and I highly recommend!

These are my go-to shoes in the winter. They're really comfortable, true to size, supportive. I need a removable insole to accommodate prescription orthotics, and these have them. The slip resistant soles give me some traction on ice, which is helpful where I live. They're practical, though not especially attractive--but that's not what I need from them. They fit great and feel great. I only wear SAS shoes because they're well made and last forever. They start out a bit pricey, but it ends up being a good buy because they last so long. I recommend these

I'm a former shoe specialist with Stride Rite, with all the special training, picky about fit, look, comfort. The Liberty was the answer to all my needs for a black leather, lace-up, non-skid shoe that fit extremely well. It's lightweight, true to size, and is comfortable right out of the box. I wore mine all day, the first day! The Liberty has the look of a jazz shoe, not the clunky overbuilt look one sees too often. If you need to be on your feet all day, this may be the shoe for you! A joy to wear!

I usually take an 8.5 or 9 narrow to fit my orthotic. I went down to 8 narrow on these. Heel is still slipping a bit.

I ordered the 10 and the 10.5 not knowing whether the sizes ran small. The 10 was true to size but the sewn in shoelace area kept cutting into the top of my foot when I was walking . The 10.5 was a little bit larger but it still was hurting in the same area but not as bad as the size 10.

The toe box was fine - lots of space for my 7W toes, but the heel was also very wide, and my feet slipped as I walked. The heel counter comes up too high for my foot as well, but I am short, and have this problem with many shoes. I returned them - Zappos: thanks for the easy return policy! and am now browsing for something for wide toes and normal heels.

These shoes seem narrow to me; it's the only shoe I've had to purchase in triple wide; all my other shoes are double-wide. They seem pretty comfortable, although I've not walked very far in them yet. The toe box feels plenty wide and high enough. They *are* loose in the heel as others mention, but so far that doesn't bother me much. I also have clear silicone heel inserts I could use; the ones at Rite-Aid or CVS are in my Walking Cradle flats and work fine. I agree with another poster; New Balance doesn't seem to have the quality it used to, so for now I'm switching to SAS.

I'll keep the shoes because it's too much of a nuisance to send them back. My heels slip up and down in the shoe--the heels are too wide. I wish I knew something that would fix this so I could wear them comfortably. Not very attractive but comfortable except for the too-wide heels.

I wanted these shoes to fit so much. I wore them at home the total of 2 hours. The toe box was small for 3 wide mostly in the left shoe. They were hard to put on. Other reviewers were right about the heels feeling like the shoe was falling off. They also made my legs and feel fatigued after a while compared to New Balance shoes. I really had a headache after wearing these. Although I could tell they were made of quality materials, they hurt so bad I cannot keep them. Also, another reason I was so drawn to these shoes was the slip proof soles but after my grandson spilled pretzels I could hardly get out of my chair because I my shoes were slipping so on the crushed pretzels. I feel really bad because there were so many other good reviews, I just may have wired feet. New Balance shoes have worked for me in some styles but their quality has been going down.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance. I have tried Propet shoe which seemed to made of quality materials but legs tire.

Great work shoe for food service personnel. Nice deep and wide toe box for problem feet. Solid construction. Since I have bunions, I rely on these shoes to get me through the work day comfortably.

I LOVE how comfortable these shoes are! When I walk, I feel no pain in my feet and my toes aren't bunched together. Plenty of wiggle room. The size I've ordered is perfect for nylon, thin and semi-thick socks on my feet. If I was to wear thick socks, I would need to order a 12WW because it becomes tight in the toe box. I love SAS shoes. I used to wear Free Time, Liberty, Tour and Patriot, with Free Time being worn three plus years for work that involved standing/walking for the entire shift and was never tired nor in pain. Here's to many more years wearing SAS Shoes!!!!!

I love that SAS shoes are made in America. I took out the inserts to put in my orthopedic inserts. The shoes fit perfectly and they’re very comfortable.

I have worn this style for three years as I am a nurse who is on my feet for along shift. They are so comfortable and the slip resistance gives me confidence that I will not fall on spills. Most of my shoes and sandals are SAS as they are so comfortable. My feet love them!

For me, these are the perfect shoes to wear for my all-black requirement for my musical performances. I had a pair of SAS shoes in the same style I had bought over 10 years ago, but the soles have come unglued, and a shoe repair place said they couldn't be fixed, so I bought this new pair. They are not as comfortable as my previous pair, but I hope they will break in.

I love how these shoes look and was thrilled to order them. BUT the left shoe was so wide in the back that it slipped on and off no matter what I did (thick socks, a heel pad). I returned them and ordered another pair of shoes, not as nicely styled but hopefully they’ll fit.

Years ago I bought a pair that was the best , most comfortable shoes I had ever worn. I don't know what happened but this pair didn't even come close to the comfort of the ones I bought before.

These shoes are incredibly uncomfortable. I can't believe all the positive reviews. There's seams in places that really irritate the top of my foot and also the side. In the description it mentions "overbuilt shoes". If anything these shoes are "underbuilt". There's virtually no padding in the tongue (that's why the seams are do painful) and no padding under your toes.

These shoes appeared well made but they run small. I couldn't get my foot into the shoe and I bought a size larger than I needed. I was very disappointed
