I ordered these for my mom when trying to find her some velcro close shoes. These seem to be the highest rated shoes in the category, so we gave them a try. She was not thrilled with how stiff the leather was and felt they rubbed her ankle a bit. She's not really mobile enough to do a lot of breaking in, so we returned them and purchase the New Balance velcro closure which she seems to really like. The SAS appears to be of great quality just didn't work for her. The only other thing that might have been a concern is the souls didn't seem to have much grip to them. Again, my mom didn't have them on long enough to determine that.

well satisfied with the fit

I bought these for my 90 year old active Mother in law who only wears SAS shoes. This one is very difficult for her to get on. It was designed with an elastic piece attached to the tongue that we had to remove. It gave her no room to get her foot into the shoe. Even after removing, it is still difficult for her to get on without assistance - even using a shoe horn it is difficult to get on. Once the shoe is on it is as comfortable as can be! She loves the feel of the shoe. The wide box toe is excellent for her.

These shoes are hard to get into with my mother’s foot issues. She is elderly and can’t work hard to get her shoes on. I wanted them to fit but, not going to happen. Sent them back.

The shoe is rather stiff

shoe was stiff. not enough room in toe box for my fat and wide foot. Wore this style as a Drew! No comparison.

I have two different sized feet. My one foot with bunions on both sides was not comfortable in the shoe. I normally order a wide shoe. I ordered a wide in this shoe to accommodate the bunions but after 30 minutes my foot was actually painful. The shoes did not feel as cushioned as I have noticed with other SAS shoes. Really wanted to like them. Sadly had to return even though for an orthopedic type shoe, it looked pretty good. Really appreciate Zappo’s quick refund policy and fantastic quick delivery of another shoe I am trying that will hopefully work better!

I buy wide shoes because I have high insteps due to high arches and wide shoes usually are able to handle that. The straps on these sneakers are very short and were barely able to stretch across. I would not recommend them for someone with wide feet or high insteps. They were wide enough in the toe box, but I expect that if I had worn them they would have repeatedly come undone.

Shoes felt lower quality, poorer fit, than my previous pair I bought 3 years ago.

These shoes looked nice but even opened all the way, I couldn’t put my foot in it. The opening was too small. I wear a 9 triple wide in a SAS sandal but these wouldn’t open wide enough to try them on. So I am returning.

They surprisingly HURT my feet! I am so disappointed.

The color was dreadful so I ordered another pair of decent appearing shoes and then sent them back for a different size. The customer service rep. said to not bother to send the sickening colored shoes back so I gave them to Good Will. I am now still waiting for my third pair of shoes in a different size to arrive.

I expected these shoes to be perfect for my swollen feet, which is why I got the widest and ordered a full size larger. I prefer wearing regular socks and I must have the Velcro straps. So I was hoping these would be the answer, but I couldn’t even get them on, even without their insoles and my thinnest socks. A major disappointment, especially for the price. I hope someone else has a better experience.
