Been wearing this style shoe for 25+ years. In the past, they always came with an extra set of laces. No more, it seems. No complaints about the shoes, just seems a bit CHEAP to no longer supply an extra set of laces. Would have been five ***** if they still included the extra set of laces.

Have worn SAS shoes for several years. Normally order 12 1/2 WW, but ordered only a W. Shoes seemed tight and short versus other SAS shoes I have purchased. Shoes appeared to very well made and stylize.

Very well made shoe but slipperiness of sole made me wary as i am out in rainy weather many days. Returned and ordered SAS Move On and much happier with soles.

Less than moderate arch support. I have high arches but especially my right foot pronates a bit in this shoe. But the leather is soft, toe room is excellent and comfort is very good. So, I kept the shoes and purchased Some Dr. School’s gel inserts with better arch support.

The shoes are quite comfortable. Arch support is less than moderate. I have high arches but my right foot pronates in this shoe. But, because the leather is soft and toe box is quite roomy, I've ordered a Dr. Scholl's arch support insole and will keep the shoes. I do wonder how traction will be over time.

I ordered a size larger than usual as i now use orthotics. This approach worked well for this shoe.
I have a narrow foot and was happy to find SAS narrow (B) fit me well. The only other athletic shoe that i have been happy with until now has been New Balance.

Very well made. Comes in a size 12.5 length, a rare, good thing. However it didn't fit my low volume feet. I tried a Narrow (C) width, which was fine on width but had way too much extra leather around from instep forward. Then I tried a Slim (B) width and found it very tight and restrictive. Sigh!
I wonder about the traction of the plastic outsole, especially when all the little rough tread nubbins have worn smooth, but I have no experience there.
Try Rockport World Tour Classic for a good fit for low volume feet.

I have been wearing the New Balance 928 for many years but no longer; the attraction of the SL-2 last with its graduated proportions between width and heel is
kaput. The SAS shoe under review unfortunately (for me ) lacks this necessary feature.
In an otherwise all around excellent shoes my heel sloshes around. where it should be firmly gripped. And so, back in the box and a disappointed farewell. Sigh...

The shoes are very comfortable and good quality but width S (slim) is still to wide for my 13-2A foot. I wish there were narrower size shoes available.

I wear these shoes to work. I have neuropathy, wide feet, and bunions. These shoes are comfortable and well made.
I find the arch support to be poor. I ripped out the padding in the shoe as it was raising my heel too much and not supporting the arch.
Though the shoes are comfortable, I do wish SAS made them appear more stylish.

I've been wearing this same style shoe for over three years. I wear them day after day with no break or change over to other styles. They fit well, wear well, and are made of excellent materials and with great shoe maker skills. It really does have a beautiful leather upper. I actually returned this pair because after putting them on, I just decided that I wanted a new style now. It may have had something to do with the color, burgundy, that I changed over to; I have brown now. But somehow, this pair just looked bigger and less stylish when I tried them on. Also, I realized that not having a true heel was causing me to slip on some surfaces and the sole itself does not grip well on other than dry surfaces. To be sure, the pair I have now saved me when I came down with Planter's Fac three years ago. Virtually no other shoe I tried was as comfortable and well made. This was the first time in my life that I spent nearly $200 on a pair of shoes, but considering I'm into year four now, with the same pair, that translates into $50 a year, or the price of lesser shoes that would give only 6 months wear. Sure, my current pair shows wear and tear but there is still plenty of sole and just slight wear on the back heel part of the shoe. When polished, they still look presentable. Quality and comfort mean a lot and one must pay the price for those features. If I don't find something different soon, I might just pick up another pair of these, only sticking with the brown. I still recommend these for anyone that can afford them.

A great shoe except the sole seems to wear out quickly. Usually within 12-18 months I need a new pair

Normal fit is 11 d that was too tight, tried 11 w this was a little large. The 11 d made by Sketcher is a better fit for me. The shoe looks great until you put it on then it looks awkward like the shoes are not a matched pair. Comfort of sole is ok but sort of slippery on smooth floor. Maybe one of the other shoe styles would work better. Great service from Zappos as always.

Fugly. Geriatric. Fairly comfortable but the weird flat sole made me walk funny.

This shoe s definitely not a Path Finder. The shoe is well made, but tighter across the side of my foot. I wear a wide size for the room at my little toe area. Hopefully the shoes will come around.

Still deciding on these. They look great, and feel comfortable. My hesitation is on the fit.
I'm 73 years old, 5'8", 165 lbs, and pretty fit. I've been wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers in size 8.5 4E for about 15 years. I wanted to try something with a little more style, but equally comfortable. I bought these in W-Wide (E), instead of WW-Double Wide (EE-3E), because of other customers' comments on sizing. I have a high instep foot, and often have trouble with the top of my foot pressing against the tongue. But with these, there is plenty of room. The width is also about perfect at the widest part of my foot and I have plenty of room in the toe box.
My problem is a feeling that the shoes are a little loose when I walk. I've already tried transferring my PowerStep insoles from my Brooks Addiction Walkers. That gives me a lot more support than the insoles that come with the shoes. But I still have a feeling of looseness. I've only walked around the house, in order to keep the shoes in returnable condition. I'm just not sure enough about these to pull the trigger, and start wearing them outside, for fear I'll end up with a very expensive pair of shoes that are too loose.
There is a little extra length in the toes, and so I am thinking of trying a size 8 in Wide. But I'm just afraid they may end up a tad short. If I were in a shoe store I'd try it. Just uncertain about tying up another $190 on my credit card to try it out.

Not the most impressive style but comfortable. I have a difficult time finding shoes that fit and this fills the bill.

This shoe runs wider than other shoes of the same size I have bought from Zappos. I have tried wearing them, but my foot gets blistered because of the extra movement in the toe area. I am returning them to get a narrower width hoping that it will be a good fit.

I had high hopes for the SAS Bout Time shoe but when I tried on a pair, my feet were swimming in the extra room, particularly width. The Bout Time certainly is wide from toe to heel. I returned them for Clarks Un.Bend.

While I'm certain these shoes are both serviceable as well as very comfortable, they are amongst the ugliest, least fashionable shoes I've ever purchased. Features like d-ring lace eyes are simply juvenile on an adult shoe, especially on an oxford, or what your calling an oxford. Thanks for the refund

My complaint against SAS, from years back to today, is their shoe is the narrowest of all those I've owned. I don't feel unstable in other shoes which have, simply, a 1/4" wider heel, especially, and even a wider foot ball. With SAS shoes, my right foot, especially the heel, always tends to lean outward--or feels as though it is. If this is uncomfortable to me, others probably experience it, too. Otherwise, the shoe is comfortable.
Here's is an example of what I'm referring to:
SAS Pathfinder 40: Ball Width - 4" / Heel Width - 3"
Rockport Rockland V76682: Ball Width - 4.25" / Heel Width - 3.5"
And so it goes similarly for Clarks Cushox Pace, Clarks Wave, and New Balance Walking Shoe MW 1300 DD--All shoes I own and find more comfortable than SAS. I think SAS is losing some customers because of this phenomenon. I find it hard to believe it is just me, since the non-SAS shoes don't give me the same sensation of an outward lean and unstableness.
I'd also recommend:
Clarks, Rockport, New Balance--all walking (not tennis, etc.) shoes for a fair comparison.
