Best bag I have ever owned. Awesome for my back, best organization ever, and keeps my iPad Pro 10.5 and my MacBook Pro 13 inch safe. Awsome main compactment. Only slight flaw is the zippers, be careful.

After searching a while for a backpack that fits my needs, I came up on the new Surge, and it was a perfect fit from the get-go! It is roomy, with each compartment so well designed that it fits my needs to the T. Laptop pocket, tablet pocket, places to store everything from charging cables to an umbrella. Quality build, light as a feather! One minor hindrance is that the straps that allow you to expand the backpack or keep it tight come slightly in the way over the water bottle pockets, but it's nothing big! Slightly on the expensive side, but I think of it as a one time purchase, atleast for the next few years!

Very comfortable/ergonomic and compact design. Love all the compartments! They've thought of everything!

I carry a Apple laptop, my Dell work laptop and the Bose headphones with the case. After all this stuff, there is still lot of room left I defiantly recommend this for personal or business use

Gift to my wife, we traveled for a few weeks and this was our carry on. She is in Luv with her new spacious backpack. And to find the North Face back pack (we) my wife had me out shopping at too many stores. She had to find the perfect travel back pack, color, size, expandable, girlish, weight, water resistance, overall comfort, She was sold on the surge. Oh I'm happy too.

I am in love with this backpack. It holds my 15" MacBook Pro secure and safe. With with a secondary sleeve for my iPad Pro (10.5") all in the same zippered compartment. There's plenty of other space to hold files or a change or clothes in the large main compartment. The front pocket offers some great organization features. Absolutely love this backpack.

I use this as a school backpack. I'm an electrical engineering student who used to carry around a full backpack and another bag of school items in the day. I now use only one back and have plenty if room still. Love this, and extremely comfortable.

This bag is the most comfortable bag I've ever owned with enough pockets and has an amazing cool whistle

I love everything about it. It's worth every penny ten times over!! I can't remember being happier with any purchase I've made in my life!! I've had mine for 5 years now. I use it everyday almost without exception, and I'm confident it will hold up for another 5. Besides being a little dirty it looks great with no part of it wearing out even a little. It gets my highest recommendation.

This backpack really is amazing. I have been using an extremely expensive name brand one for the past 4 years, and have been settling for it being uncomfortable and cluttered. Now, there is a pocket for absolutely everything I need and then some. I carry it around campus all day with no pain, and recently went hiking and it did the job perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better backpack.

I use this backpack for school and when I commute to work. I always have used it when I travel back to my hometown. A lot of space very comfortable and it looks cool too.

I am an undergraduate student and I commute to campus by carpool and public transportation! I recently invested in the Surge Men's backpack in TNF MEDIUM GREY HEATHER/MARKER BLUE. The colors are true to the photos on the website! (I am female and I liked the color availability more in the Men's surge backpack than the Women's). I am an avid traveler, and I roadtrip long distance and fly frequently solo. This backpack is very very durable, long-lasting, will go through the tough times and has proven to me! The colors are so nice and unique and I am able to distinguish my backpack amongst others during baggage claim! I have washed this once and it turned out like new! My laptop is safe, and my backpack doesn't sag when I insert my really heavy college textbooks! I have spine issues and pain, but the backpack is lifted higher and it feels like I'm not carrying much weight at all.

My son loves it! He loves all the different pockets to help keep him organized. I have notice when the backnis full, it tends to lean forward, almost like the base it not wide enough or evenly distributed to keep it upright.

I use this backpack everyday. The number of pockets is awesome.

I use this for work every day. I have an hour-long commute which includes a 25-minute walk. This fits well and really like the way they've built the laptop component of the backpack so it feels really comfortable on your back.

I use this product for school as my main source of carrying around books and my laptop. It has a super sleek design and can definitely fit plenty of textbooks. I have really enjoyed this backpack so far.

I have owned a surge for over 10 years. Love all the extra pockets and places to store everything. I have always been an overpacker and the surge has accoodated. We made the investment in a new surge for my son who has gone through several backpacks in hopes that his will last as long and work as well as my surge.

I had been shopping for a backpack for a very long time and finally came to the surge, I ride a motorcycle daily about 50 miles so I needed something very comfortable on my back with enough space in it to carry all of my supplies for school while carrying my 15" laptop and some items for the gym. It's all fits perfectly and while the bag does get heavy the weight is distributed very well and is comfortable to walk around with all day long. Will definitely reccomend this backpack to everyone looking for a bag! Thanks Northface !!

Spectacular product from The North Face! The key feature that the Surge Backpack provides is protection for my 15" MacBook Pro! And not only is there a pocket for that in the back but come to find out I can put my IPad mini in the shallower sleeve and then my IPad Pro in the next protected sleeve! Wasn't expecting the pockets and space. Another sweet addition is some of the pockets are a soft gentle material for items you want a little extra protection for. The upper and lower chest abdomen straps are perfect especially if you are on a bicycle or in my case a motorcycle and the back plate breathes well and is supper supported. Hey The Northface.. you guys nailed it on this product. Exactly what I needed and the price was perfectly set as well. Thanks!

This backpack is amazing! The size is unimaginable and it looks very slick. It is perfect for college with all my books and folders. It took a couple of days of wearing to get it broken in (like a pair of boots), but now it is very comfortable and nice to wear.

I bought this for my husband. He loves it so much! He loves the compartments and how comfortable and durable this backpack is. The backpack helps him to keep his papers/books etc. organized. He commutes and travels for his job, and he says this backpack is exactly what he needs. It is just PEFECT! I do own not one but 3 NorthFace backpacks, but I want to buy a woman-version-Surge for myself!
