Great shoe if your on your feet all day

We had the original Winder shoes, but they were discontinued. Bought these for my husband who is on his feet all day and he reports he felt like they were made better, more sturdy, than the originals. Will buy again.

I usually wear a 12 Dr. Marten, but they discontinued everything in a similar style to this. 11.5 in this fit me well. Slips on and looks sort of like a boot which is exactly what I wanted. Loss of style points because the leather looks inexpensive and lacking in quality. It looks like it is probably "genuine leather" with a fake grain patter stamped in rather than any sort of "full grain" leather. Also, I don't love the tread pattern as it tends to track debris. But it is fine for the price, and comfortable. Insoles are firm, not squishy like some shoes with memory foam. It feels like the comfort comes from a squishy mid-sole. It almost feels like a squishy kitchen mat is built in to the shoes.

It has been over a year since I bought these and finally got around to writing a review for these shoes. Like others have mentioned, the leather used here is really really good and doesn't need as much care compared to another pair. They also resists dirt and grime in a restaurant kitchen as well. The fit felt about half a size larger, but didn't impact my comfort much wearing it. My feet slid around slightly inside these shoes like others when they're broken in. The outsole wore out pretty fast within several months of use. It's been so long ago since it wore out (maybe within 6 months of use?) that I'm still using it for it's comfort and how the it looks when worn because the leather still looks like new after a quick wipe. I forgot to mention that there is a slight rigidity to the front of toe area that makes it feel like having a composite toe shoe which might help with bumps and such.

Returning merchandise for no good reason hurts everyone. I bend over backwards to avoid it. I love this shoe. But the left one slides up and down on my heel and would cause a blister in no time. It could only get worse over time. I regrettably sent them back.
