I waited until I played 5 riding or 2 walking rounds before writing this review. This review is after 5 rounds riding:
PROS:
Wearable right out of the box with little to no break in time! This shoe is great because it feels very "natural" on the course. If you are the guy/gal who likes wearing vibram fivefinger, New Balance Minimus, or any freestyle shoe these are the shoes for you hands down. Basically, if you wish you could golf barefoot but wanted a bit more traction, these are it! The turf interaction is great, allowing you to feel the contours on the tee box, fairways, and greens. It provides great traction in moderate to cooler temperatures (< 90 degrees). The soft spikes don't mark up greens, so that's a plus for people playing behind you. I wore these shoes to play two rounds back to back last week and I must say they were the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. FJ definitely upholds its renowned fame of being extremely comfortable. Also, the sole of these shoes stay exceptionally clean. Grass clippings, sand, anything on the course really for dew sweepers like myself are usually something that clogs up the spikes, but not in these shoes. A quick tap on the shoe and the debris falls off!
CONS:
The shoe traction gets extremely diminished if the air&ground temperatures are up (>90 degrees). Starting on the 20th hole of the 36, I slipped/lost traction in approximately 4 tee shots and 5 fairway strokes. I believe the high temperature made the ground hot so it made the spikes a bit too pliable causing a reduction in traction. A solution to this problem is installing different spikes, but I shouldn't have to, I really don't loose the ground feel of these shoes. They started to squeak on me, even after buying a FJ Representative's recommendation of cedar shoe trees (I waited to use them until my shoe trees came in). The clear plastic that wraps around the shoe has started to come off the shoe in the fold zones. I hope water doesn't leak in these spots.

The shoes are good looking and fit well with one exception. For some reason the heel box does not fit snugly even though the shoes are very comfortable. As a result the movement up-and-down causes my socks to bunch up and become uncomfortable. Unfortunately this is a problem that can only be discovered on the course not while trying on for comfort. I'm working on a solution which hopefully I will find.

Bought these (blue and orange) 2 months ago and have had to replace some of the spikes twice. Footjoy needs to look into better spikes for this line of shoe. Have owned several pairs of dry joys; and Icons and never had such problems. Shoes are very comfortable but concerned about tearing of spikes.

I have the tie up version on this shoe and it is soooo comfortable I thought why not go with the easy quick click binding...only problem for me is when I hit the ball my left shoe often pops open as I shift to my left side during the swing. I'm a bigger guy at 6'2" 250 and this may not happen for smaller or lighter individuals, but although they are very comfortable and good looking I will stay with the tie up version...Its an amazing golf shoe!!

very nice golf shoe only problem is the spikes are breaking after two months. In my right show two of the spikes have broke and its hard to find replacements instead of changing all spikes. Over all this shoe is great very comfortable and holes to the grass nice.

I had intended to buy these the other day, but my heel picked up when I walked. The softness of the shoe didn't work well with my feet, so I bought the Footjoy Hyperflex instead. I haven't found another brand of golf shoes that perform as well as Footjoys!

Not quite as comfortable as the XPS...the best shoe ever made...but good traction and stability.lacing system takes a bit getting used to but it's easy to get in and out of. Overall, a very good shoe.

Great shoes! Great looks! Great feel! They really connect you to the turf without giving up comfort and fit true to size. I'll be sticking to these for awhile.

The problem is in size. I ordered EURO 45 what is equal to 11.5 according to your charts, but nobody mentioned that when XW is ordered 11.00 is enough.

The FJ Freestyle is essentially a running shoe with golf spikes; the shoes are constructed in the same manner and with the same materials as most competitive running shoes. The toe box is roomy, with a sturdy heel, minimizing slippage and providing support. The heel to toe drop is minimal, if not zero, and being these are designed for golf and not running, the drop isn't much of a concern. Overall, the shoe is comfortable with the right amount of arch support and cushioning. It does feel as if I am wearing a minimalist running shoe. One could remove the spikes and run a 5K race without issue. If FJ were to design and market a running shoe, the Freestyle would be a good base design for such a shoe. I especially like the water proof feature of these shoes, something my "old" golf shoes did not have. I haven't walked a course yet, but just wearing them at the driving range I found the shoe does "grip" the ground firmly when striking the ball, something which did not occur with my other golf shoes. It was a bit weird, at first, but after a few swings and strikes, you get use to the feel.
That said, I am a bit perplexed with the large disparity in size. The shoe does not fit true to size. With athletic shoes, I tend to wear 10.5/11 depending on the brand. And adjust by a half size, plus or minus, if necessary. With the FJ Freestyle, I had to drop from a size 11 to a size 9 - down TWO sizes. I don't recall having to drop down two sizes with any other brand or type of athletic shoe. My previous golf shoes, the New Balance Golf 574, were a perfect fit at a size 11 and as are my current Asics running shoes. What gives Footjoy? Why such a huge gap?

Great comfort but major problem with cleat fitting. Spikes had tendancy to tear too easy and constant changing has led to base of cleat coming loose and popping out making them unusable - shame.

These shoes look great, which is the reason why I tried them instead of the dryjoy which is my favorite golf shoe I've ever owned, all brands taken into consideration. I live in Oregon and always walk the course so my biggest qualities when looking for a shoe are comfort and durability. I have had these shoes for half a season and its already time for another pair. My feet after rounds are always very sore, and the shoe just fell apart. At the price point I feel these shoes are not up to spec and I do not recommend them.

Love the shoe but very disappointed when i had to replace cleats and nothing actually fits. Now, they come out way to easily and the little locking features are worn and i've only used them one season. Won't make a second season and that's disappointing for a brand like FJ

Comfortable and waterproof but there has been a significant change in the spike system so that no local vendor provides a spike that fits.

The extra wide are too narrow in the toebox and the plastic at the bottom edge of the shoe that extends above the sole is painful if your foot is at all wider than the footbed. It also seems the extra 'width' is extra volume. It is a very tall shoe. Admittedly my foot size lies outside the bell curve, but I don't have a hard time finding comfortable shoes for other sports. FootJoy needs to develop a last with a narrower heel and a wide toebox that doesn't narrow. My guess is, that like me, for many people with wide feet, the place where the toebox narrows for aesthetics is the exact place we need more width. I played golf daily for 20 years, then took a long break, which also gave my feet a break from golf shoes. Now I know why my feet were always in so much pain when I was younger.

Probably the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn, but my heel slips through my swing. Unfortunate because this is what the shoe is supposed to prevent.
