My older son has a pair of these shoes and we LOVED them! However, they do run narrow and my boys have wide feet. We were able to make them work for my older son with bigger straps, but the size 6 for my toddler were perfect length, and with only one strap, difficult to get on. We will have to send them back. PLAE, please make them in wide!! They are so adorable-wish they worked for us.

Cute shoes that are well made but run large.

This is our second pair of PLAE Ty shoes. We we sizing up from the 7.5 toddler Ty to the 8 and there was almost no difference in size - we exchanged for a pair of 8.5 and it seems about a half size up from the 7.5. So sizing seems off slightly in my opinion. The colors are true to photos. The blues are rich and the orange is bright. The Ty PLAE 7.5 comes with one strap but the 8 and 8.5 (and presumably larger sizes) have two straps. The straps can be changed out for wider widths, my child has narrower feet so the standard straps work great.

I bought these because i heard they were good for wide feet. My son's feet are just too wide at his toes.

Love these shoes, but the strap broke after just a couple of wears. These shoes are way too expensive for that to happen. Not sure I’ll be buying this brand again.

I wanted to love these shoes for my 4-year-old preschooler. I love the idea of being washable and the "support" they offered, and how cute they are, but they just didn't agree with my son’s feet. He tends to walk slightly in-toed aka pigeon toed occasionally but especially when he’s tired. These shoes just made it worse… so bad that on his first day of school he tripped and fell face first into concrete in the parking lot and showed up with a bloody forehead. They’re super cute shoes but not for kids that need some extra support. He usually does great in See Kai Run, Keen, and New Balance. I contacted Zappos Customer Service and they are amazing as always. They allowed me to return them. This is why I shop at Zappos!!!!

I bought 2 pairs in the steel color, they fit amazing on my 3yr old and my 4 yr old. They loved the style and fit, never wanted to take them off. So i decided to buy a 2nd pair in Limestone/blue, this pair didn't work out as I hoped, the straps comes off, I think its because its to short and doesn't stay on. I really like these shoes, but wondering if it will happen with the next pair. I think it's probably the material. Still undecided if I should get another pair now for school, don't want the velcro to not work again...

Very cute shoe, love the quality! However, the closures are not good. Bought for 4 year old son and these were too hard for him to put on by himself as they don’t tighten up without holding the 2 sides and the tongue down while closing the Velcro closures. Son wouldn’t wear them after a few times given they always got looser on his feet plus the inability to tighten them on his own without help from mom. Too late to return them now that he’s worn them a few times. Otherwise super cute and love that they could be cleaned up easily

My son wore them out in just a couple of months. Bummer. They are really cute.

These are so cute and plae shoes are so comfortable BUT I had to reorder twice since the sizing was way too large AND now we have the right size the Velcro strap keeps coming off as the strap is too short. My kid keeps falling out of them so we need to return. He doesn’t have especially wide feet so I’m thinking this is a design flaw.

What a cute pair of shoes. Original looking. Major complaint is they were not soft inside. My 4 year old loves green, but he said they were hard inside the shoe. Also we did not have the issue with Velcro straps not closing. We did return them.

The velcro straps are not long enough and they come undone.

These shoes are super cute and pretty soft, but they don't stay on my son. When he runs, they tend to slip off and trip him.

I ordered these for my 3 year old son. He loved the color. I had to order longer straps from the Plae company. The ones that came with the shoes were to short for my sons feet. With all the climbing and running my son does these shoes showed wear within the first 1-2 weeks. The front of the shoe material quickly rubbed/wore down.

I don't really like these. The gray and yellow looks a little weird in person, and I don't like the material of the tongue and top portion of the shoe. It bunches when you tighten the straps and doesn't feel like it is securely holding my son's foot. The only thing going for it is the reinforced toe. Otherwise, I am not impressed.

if you order the smaller size, they only come with one strap (not two). Also, these are NOT meant for little ones with wide feet.

Was recommended by several people including my son’s physical therapist to get the Plae sneakers but he needs a wider sneaker and these were too narrow.

I want to love these shoes, I really do. The brand is great, and they typically hold up well. That said, this pair was, for some reason, a dud. I bought them for my 7yo who has CP and doesn’t have the best fine motor skills. I wanted shoes that would hold up but that would not require him to get super frustrated because he cannot tie them. This shoe had great reviews, so I grabbed a pair. Over the course of normal wear, within I would say 5-6 months, they have completely lost their shape and cannot be velcroed. The Velcro just doesn’t work. These shoes do not stay on his feet. They are constantly coming loose and falling off his feet. Contrast those with the same shoes but different color that I purchased for my 6yo who is hard on shoes. This pair has held up like a dream. I’m not sure if the blue and grey ones just aren’t reinforced as well, but the difference is like night and day. I’m not sure if it’s the color, or if I got a bad pair. I would recommend that if you buy this shoe, pay attention to this, and return them at the first sign of the shoe becoming misshapen.

I hope whom ever sent me this shit got some kind of enjoyment for it. But I am not laughing. I ordered a pair of shoes for my young child. And instead received a pair of used up trash. I have never been this disappointed by an internet retailer in this way. I am returning you this trash so you (whomever sent it to me) can shove it you know where.

I am really disappointed in this shoe. We purchased the grey with the blue and neon orange accent color. The shoe was very stiff around the foot opening and my toddler complained. He had already worn them outside so couldn't return. The tongue digs into front of foot and sides dig into his ankle bones. He was all red in those areas after a day of daycare. Did have on socks. I might just buy some moleskin for him and try to break them in a couple more times. Considering how great the high tops were, super comfy soft leather, these pale in comparison. Seems like maybe the navy blue ones are made of a different material and not the same stiff mesh as grey...

These shoes look cute & I am sure they are comfortable...but the velcro straps are a major problem!! Its odd b/c we've had so many Plae shoes & none of them had this problem. The straps are super short so they won't stay fastened. What a disappointment for such expensive kid shoes. Buy another pair of Plae shoes...NOT these.

My son really loves these shoes and they're easy for him to put on--but the velcro straps aren't long enough. The straps are just long enough to barely close and unfortunately on my son they wind up opening as he wears them. If they were just an inch longer we'd keep them! It's a shame because they're so well designed in other ways, but this is a deal breaker.

Problems with the straps on this shoe! My son's feet are not chunky or wide. His feet fit in the shoe just right but the straps do not connect securely to the other side... even when they are off!! I wanted them to work. Very disappointed. Poorly executed shoe in that department. Won't be ordering any more of these.
