I bought this backpack for school. I'm an education major with long hours and classes that require books, a laptop and an iPad. This backpack has plenty of room for everything I need including a great side pocket for an extra large water bottle. Comfort is key living on a large college campus and there is just enough padding for comfort without being bulky. This is by far the best backpack I've owned and is an absolute must-have.

Bought this backpack for my high school junior and she loved it. We measured and thought it would be large enough for her needs. However, due to the design with the laptop sleeve, it limited the number of notebooks she could fit in the main compartment and was too small although she did try using it. Very easy return/exchange at the store for the Surge, which is still a tight fit but better - have to use the laptop sleeve compartment for one of the notebooks. Hopefully she will be able to use this backpack in college as well.

Overall this backpack is really good, especially for a college student. You can fit your books and laptop (the laptop sleeve is awesome) comfortably. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

I bought this backpack because I needed something more waterproof and durable after moving from sunny California to Oregon. I absolutely adore this backpack...it is so comfortable, has great organizing features and fits everything I need. It is a little bigger than the backpacks I'm used to but it is so comfy it doesn't feel too bulky. Best purchase I made for back to school. My 13.3 inch Mac fits perfect in a neoprene sleeve, the laptop pocket is very quality and I love the cord keepers.

Perfect size

I purchased this backpack for my son, who just began his Freshman year of High School. Honestly, I began looking at this backpack because of the "cool factor" as I call it. My son said he wanted something that didn't make him look like a baby. Well, with that statement, I ruled out all the other standard places to order a backpack. Certainly didn't want it to break in a year either. He was psyched to get the backpack and has been using it. He has not one complaint-even with a jam-packed bag. He's happy and I'm happy. The material is sturdy but stylish. There are tons of pockets, a bungee-type cord that can hold additional items. This cord does not hang down, but is neatly placed in the front. His side pocket can comfortably hold a 32 oz. bottle of water. I say- worth it and I've purchased many bags over the years with three children. Hope this helps!

Fantastic pack. perfect size not to long and nothing is scratching my neck when it is fully packed with large text books and computer. Extra chest strap keeps my hands free when moving through heavy crowds. My younger siblings love this bag it fits their backs perfectly and the straps are extra comfortable. Excellent bag for Pre-teens and up who want true comfort. I really dont like that it is called a Woman's Backpack. This is not the bag for you if you have wide shoulders or are big time bodybuilder the straps will not sit right and the chest clamp will not close. This is an excellent investment for a long lasting quality backpack. Your laptop will thank you!!!! We are buying another one for my Brother who is a tall and lanky thing at 13 yrs old (in all black of course) Our school gives us computer lap tops and we have to have them with us 24/7 This is backpack is completely by far the best one we've found in our 2 year search. Several of our friends are getting them now and a few teachers are now recommending them and want one after they saw mine!

Comfy and big enough for college students

My back no longer feels crunched under the weight of a thin strap. This bag is wonderful. Straps alleviate pressure on your shoulders and the back is padded. As a long time student, I wish I would have invested in a high quality bag like this sooner! Save your spine! Worth every penny
