I use my backpack for school. I'm in college, so there are lots of books. It is the most comfortable backpack I've ever had. Even with all my textbooks it feels light weight, because of the way it's designed. I love it! During winter break I will be using it on vacation in NYC.

Absolutely love the practicality of this product. Using it for school as a college student it is a light weight bag that has plenty of room for my laptop and all of my books.

Buying this backpack was one of the best investments that I have made so far in 2015. I was in search of a new North Face backpack because my old Isabella one was wearing out. I came across the Borealis on the North Face website and I was intrigued by the new design that they were selling. First off, this backpack is very comfortable. The strands does not tire my shoulders. And there is a very soft padded layer that makes it very comfy for my back to wear. This backpack is very practical for me, since I am in college. It has many small pockets where I can fit my pens, pencils, lotion, perfume, and every other small items that I carry on the daily. It has a really protecting laptop compartment too, so I don't even wear a laptop sleeve on my Macbook Air anymore. Overall, this backpack has been very satisfying for me and I am very happy with my this purchase. It's comfy, practical, and simple enough to use for almost anything!

I always take a backpack when flying to my destination. I use the same backpack for business or personal travel, and I use it on the flight, and at the destination. I needed something more versatile than my old Nike backpack, and have been impressed with TNF quality in the past. Though more expensive than other brands, I bought this one to try. I was impressed. The quality and materials are top-notch (as usual TNF)... but what really set it apart was the comfort. Though heavier than the backpack I'm replacing, the comfort is far superior. No matter how much I've loaded up the bag, it keeps my back straight and there are no "hot spots" of stress on my shoulders or back. The only negative point is that I wish there was a mid-sized pocket (even better if it was zipped). There are several pockets inside, but all quite small. A mid-sized pocket would allow me to store a wallet or keys.

NEEDED IT FOR SCHOOL !!!!

It does not hurt my back which is normally how college books and things affect my back.

As my intro says, this is the perfect bag, I've been waiting to have my whole school career. I went through brands after brands looking for factors like comfort, fashion-worthiness, durability and of course practicality and this is hands on the best quality there is out there. The customer service is awesome, they'll answer all the questions you have about this product. As a student I have to have all the qualities especially budget. I wouldn't trade NF for any brand. You have to experience it so you'll know what I'm talking about. Watch the videos as well as this will help tremendously on your decision.

I bought this for my trip to Thailand. This backpack is perfect! Lightweight yet expandable, many compartments and comfortable. I got the turquoise/purple color combo and it looks great!

This backpack replaced a Fox pack I have had for 8 years, and this is above and beyond what that ever was. Eletronic pockets are very soft and padded, many differnet compartment and holders. Comfortable to wear, and very good looking.

My daughter loves this because it may be adjusted to fit her 5' tall frame. It stays tight because it has buckles on the sides that prevent it from sagging on her. She also likes the pocket design and roominess.

what can't i say about this bag, I'm very impressed. The first thing you'll notice when you throw this bad boy on is that even full this bag feels so light. North face does an amazing job of dispersing weight. I love that your laptop and Ipad are now suspended rather then touching the ground so if you do drop your bag you don't need to have a mini heart attack. I'm constantly using this bag day after day in school and i couldn't be happier! good job North Face !

I'm a college student and throughout the years North Face has been my go-to brand for backpacks. The designs are always sleek and durable. You can fit a lot in this bag without looking like a turtle because there's a compartment for everything giving you optimal space. The laptop slot and the front small pocket are perfect for putting your phone and wallet in for easy access and the second opening has a bunch of pen slots and zippers to keep things in. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this as a school bag because it can withstand the wear and tear of a busy student while still looking brand new!

I love this backpack for school, as a light travel bag, and for hikes and bike rides.

I got this for my son who is a seventh grader. He wanted a new backpack that said "adult" more than "kid" (because we all know you're grown up when in junior high). He likes red so that's the color I got for him. The color was bold and vibrant. The fabric is sturdy. He carries as iPad to school and will eventually have a laptop, and the padded section for this is very good.
