I have trouble finding shoes with a nice wide toe box. No problem with these lace up Berks. Took a day of walking to break in across top of toes where shoe bends but now they are very comfortable. A great walking shoe that is also nice looking. A ordered a second pair in another color.

I followed the size chart for 11 1/2 and it recommended 44. This size turned out to be too small. I was really impressed with the customer service when I phoned to say I needed to return the shoes. Returning via UPS was very easy. (I had expected a hassle!) I exchanged the shoes (Birkenstock Arran) for size 45 and they are perfect in every way. I'm totally satisfied and also impressed with Zappos!

These shoes are so comfortable. I've heard of Birkenstocks my whole life and was so glad to break down and buy a pair. It took a few days to wear them into my unique feet, so worth it. True to size. My friend thought they only made sandals, I'm sure she'll be buying them too. We'll worth it.

Nice, well made shoes. Nice with both jeans and khakis alike. The dress up enough for business casual. Two notes: I normally wear a 46, but Zappos indicated this would be a 13+ in U.S. As I normally wear a 12, I went for a 45. Too small. Stay true to your normal Euro size. And if it matters, this are NOT made in Germany as indicated by Zappos. They are made in the fine country of Portugal.

Great shoes and very comfortable. Suede seem to be slightly more narrow in toe box compared to canvas but still roomy for wide feet.

Awsome shoes, very comfortable and supportive. Very high quality well made shoes. My instant favorites. I wish I could buy another pair for the future.

Bought these for my husband who has really hard feet to fit! The shoes showed up on time (as usual) but one was missing a shoelace. I called Zappos customer service and they had no way to send us just 1 shoelace. It normally isn't a big deal and I would have bought shoelaces at any store but these were leather and not normal shape. So instead, they sent an entire set of new shoes at no charge (this was IN ADDITION to the original pair we bought). Wow! I felt bad about this but, wish Zappos did have a way My husband said these are very comfortable. He wears them to work and really likes them. Thanks again to Zappos for the BEST customer service ever!

I wear 43R in Boston with moderately thick socks and 41 in open-toed Birkenstocks. I ordered 43R in Arran, which I tried on with thin socks. In the Arran, my bunion (which is not large) shows as it pushes out the side of the shoe. The upper is soft (and, in that part of the shoe, unlined), so I don't think this will cause discomfort. My only concern is the shallower toe box than the Boston. If Zappos had the color I want in a larger size, I would order a 44R Arran to see what it feels like. Unlike what is stated in one of the answered customer questions, there is no toe bar in the Arran. I do not see that as a negative, but some might. The insole is formed of cork an seems sturdy and somewhat supportive, but much of the sole's thickness is rubber. Don't expect this shoe to be as stiff and supportive as traditional Birkenstocks that have lots of cork.

I ordered the wrong size. I usually wear a 10:5, but I read a review somewhere to go up a size. That was a bad idea. They were just too big. I would just exchange them, but even though it was the wrong size, I could tell these weren't for me. I am not a Birkenstock guy... I heard they are good for you feet. My wife loves them and she has gotten used to the hard sole. But these are not for me, even if they were a size smaller. Zappos is so easy to buy items from and their return process is a breeze. I will buy from them again, but I will stick to what I know..... Keen.

Women with Wide feet: if the Women's Arran Regulars are too narrow for you, try these. Still not super-wide, but far more comfortable than the Women's version. A decent Keds substitute with good arch support.

The shoes were wonderful, however; one of the laces arrived broken.
