To begin with I have wide and flat feet and have had great difficulty over the years finding shoes that fit and feel right. I need shoes that are very comfortable with very good cushioning in the footbed/sole and little to no arch. For example I typically wear a size 12 4E in a Nike Air Monarch and New Balance 608 and 11-1/2 5E in the Propet Stability Walker. Being 67 I have never tried wearing a sandal before, but decided to give the Dunham Fitsmart Fisherman a try. Boy am I glad I did...It is the most comfortable shoe I have every worn, even wearing it all day right out of the box!!! It did take a bit to get the right size, ended up with an 11 4E. I also like the color, which I was expecting to be much lighter, as the shoes are a medium dark brown. The shoes have do have a mild neutral arch, which I notice but I don't find it uncomfortable...in fact better than any other shoe I have tried in decades. Also cudos go to Zappos for allowing me to significantly utilize their free shipping and free return policy, which I have greatly used this past month trying to find these shoes. Now that I found these and like them so much...I'm ordering another pair before they go out or stock, or the manufacturer decides to either quit making them or change them.

Getting older...and with that comes foot problems. Need a larger width which is hard to find in a comfortable, affordable shoe. This one really works. Thanks Zappos!

I ordered a size 12 4E and they were a little long. The width was great. I reordered in a full size smaller (11 4E) and they fit perfectly. I wear a custom orthotic insert and thin athletic socks (if that helps in determining your fit). These shoes are deep enough for orthotic inserts. They are so comfortable and there was no "break-in" time needed. These are my new favorite shoe that I wear all the time now. I going to order another pair to be sure I have a backup pair.

Perfect fit 11 1/2 4E . Finally a sturdy pair of sandals that fit. They protect my old man feet . Comfortable and cool in the So. Florida heat.

Shoes fit perfectly (8 4E) and are really comfortable. I have been wearing them daily; these are my new "go to" shoes.

the fit and size was ok it would be nice if a person could get two different sizes as a pair as my right foot could use a half size bigger.

I have peripheral neuropathy which makes both feet very tender and vulnerable to being constrained. The Dunham Fitsmart Fisherman Sandal is the ONLY (semi) shoe I am able to wear for extended periods, including golfing, which my feet tolerate. The sandals only come in one color, a muted Brown - however, I took one pair to the shoemaker and he dyed them Black, so now I have 2 pairs of Brown and one Black which I can wear with different pants for whatever occasion. I remove the insoles and use Protalus M100 inserts for my high arch. These sandals are a real life saver and are the only shoes I can wear comfortably for extended periods. Dunham shoes are available in wider sizes which is what I require. I would sincerely urge anyone with a foot problem involving the toes and soles of their feet to consider these sandals - they really work for me!!!

Overall, very comfortable

Fit was true to size; very stylish for a sandal; color soft enough to match any summer wear. Arch support and walking feel extra better than ordinary sandals.

My elderly husband likes these as they feel like slippers and easy to put in.

Dunham FitSmart Fisherman Looked Great; fantastic support; and sooo comfortable. It appears that this style of Dunham's has been discontinued. This is so sad. They are a great shoe/sandal that provide all the comfort and support I could hope for. Hope Dunham re-thinks their decision to stop production on these great shoes!!!!

These are great sandals with comfortable insole, soft leather and nice styling but they run really, really long. My husband is a 12 99% of the time and had to return twice (once for 11.5 and now for 11) in order to have them fit properly. Other than that, they are comfortable sandals that are light and breathable for the hot weather.

Best summer sandal I've ever owned, others have been Merrells, Crocs, Teva, etc. Great arch support, all-day comfort, better than tennis shoes, great traction and fit. Top quality soft leather, just needs occasional oiling to look new again. Conforms over time to fit even better. My local leather shop shortened the strap to give me a perfect size 13 narrow! Best $20.ever spent, now they are perfect!

Usually I wear a 13 A or B. I took these to the local leather store and they shortened the leather/velcro strap to make the D's narrower. Viola! Perfect fit, great arch, and very comfy and durable. My new favorite summer shoe. I walk the dog trails, shopping, bike, everything with these babies, and I'm getting a second pair for if or when these ever wear out. Have 3 months of use now, and they look like new.

I've just received these shoes, so this is a preliminary review. Pros: 1. They look great and the color is darker than is pictured on the web. I was expecting this because of a question someone had asked and the company had responded to. Just right. 2. 4E width! Thank you, thank you. It is rare I can find shoes that fit properly. I usually have to go up a size to be able to wear them on my wide feet. 3. Very light weight. Cons: 1. No arch support at all. In fact, they seem to put pressure on the outside edge of the foot. So I had to replace the liner with an (expensive) insole from New Balance. 2. The soles provide little or no support or cushioning. With the light weight and no support it feels like I'm wearing slippers. If I walked around on grass all day this would be fine. I'll see how my feet hold up; the insole from New Balance will help. Overall: If I had tried these on in a store I would not have bought them because of the lack of support & cushioning. But right now I'm glad I did buy them and am hoping they work out for me.

These shoes fit very well and the width was perfect ! I can wear these shoes all day and my feet feel great.

I've worn these sandals every day since I've owned them. They are now worn out and ratty and it's time to buy another pair. They are a quality product. The soles have worn smooth now and the Velcro straps are probably what are pushing me to get another pair. They lasted 2 years of everyday use. I wore them around the house, hardly ever outside, I don't think of them as outdoor shoes. They have excellent traction on the wooden and linoleum floors here. Dunham: good.
